    About Anjelah:
Anjelah Johnson-Reyes was born and raised in San Jose, California where she grew up with four siblings in a large extended family to which she remains close. Anjelah found herself an internet sensation and pioneer in viral TH-cam videos when her notorious “Nail Salon” bit from a local comedy show was posted and received over 100 million views! Shortly thereafter she was added to the cast on the original MADtv where she trademarked her legendary character, Bon Qui Qui. Similar to the nail salon video, the Bon Qui Qui sketch caught on and have been viewed by over 75 million people. The multi-hyphenate’s popularity has translated into four successful comedy specials: That’s How We Do It” (Comedy Central), The Homecoming Show (NUVO TV), Not Fancy (Netflix) and Mahalo & Good Night (Epix). She has displayed her acting prowess both on TV and film. Some of her credits include “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Superstore,” “Moms’ Night Out,” and “Alvin & the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.” Her first book was published in 2022, Who Do I Think I Am: Stories of Chola Wishes and Caviar Dreams, a hilarious and touching memoir full of memorable anecdotes on how a Latina dynamo was able to forge ahead and become successful.

Where I live it's mostly tornados. But we still get hit with the edge of hurricanes, the occasional earthquake (small ones) and once every handful of years a good sized blizzard that kills power for weeks. Why pick when you can have them all? ^_^ lol

I was born in Montana (snow so high), spent 13 yrs in Miami (small tornadoes on the edges of hurricanes) and now live in earthquake country. In all of them preparation is important. And then you hunker down. Even with deep snow eventually someone is gonna come dig you out. Think I'd rather have 8 ft of snow than 8 ft of water.

Had a coworker that transferred from LA to Dallas for a career move. They lasted two summers and his wife made him move back to SoCal. She said all the weather warnings gave her too much stress, at least with an earthquake you get no warning. No kidding, she really said that.

Im southern girl.. Sometimes they go way overboard with those dang sirens!! Last bad one we had they just kept on and on for like 45mins:: I was like "damn I get it, I might die soon, enough already you are stressing me the he'll out".. They do some jacked up damage too" A couple yrs ago one took out a entire county here in KY a couple weeks before christmas.. It was a few hrs away from my county; but my brother ran a mission crew to help them for a few months..

My army buddy was from Virgina, and we both served in Iraq together. He moved here to Texas in May 2011, and I tried to warn him about our summers.
His response, "Man I've been to Iraq 3 times, and I'm from Virgina, I ain't worried about a little heat."
First day of his job, working outside, "WHAT THE F@#K, THIS HEAT IS UNBEILIVABLE!!!!😮"

I lived in several places with my husband and daughter while in the military. California, first earthquake... not too bad. Illinois, first white out snow storm... kinda scary as I was driving. Florida, first hurricane (thankfully only got the edge of it) still pretty scary. Then we move back home to Georgia, we get in the first 10 years.... an earthquake, 2 floods and 3 tornadoes!! I'm like what the F is happening here. I remember only a few snow days when school was canceled and an ice storm growing up!! Lol

I am an Army Brat too. When I was ten years old, we lived in Lawton (outside of Fort Sill), Oklahoma and experienced all the tornado sirens warnings. We had no basement so my mom sat in the tub with my baby sister. My brother and I sat in the bathroom doorway frame facing each other. It was horrible. Decades later I am living in New York City (Queens) and a tornado comes through the twin 24 story buildings. My husband and I lived on the 18th floor. My husband was out on the balcony and asked me, "Why is the sky green?" I started screaming at him to get inside and go to the bathroom. Of course, he doesn't come in. I yell at him, "It's a tornado!" I also experienced an earthquake in the same apartment. It felt like I was in a roller coaster. I have never been more scared. As soon as it was over, I took the elevator down and sat in my car. I called my mom and started crying. I will take a tornado over the earthquake.

I am with you there Anjelah! Growing up in the Bay Area anything less than a 4.0 is like a foot massage! I remember working my first job as a long distance operator and we had an earthquake. Everyone else was diving under their consoles, like if the 3 foot thick concrete walls came down that was going to save them. I just kicked back in my chair and watched the waves going across the blue carpeted floor, and when I say that sh*t looked like waves in the water you best believe! The building was built on marsh land so it was pretty cool to see what an earthquake actually looks like. Fun times I tell ya! Only other natural disaster I have been through was a hurricane back in 1983 when I was stationed at Pearl Harbor. What a "welcome to Hawaii" that was! 🤣👻Just read it again and need to edit, it was 1982//had a senior moment before😁

Went through a couple 5s in San Francisco back in the day. Nothing broke but the jitters lasted a while.
Few years before the big '89 quake, moved East so we missed that one. Drove across country, staying in motels. When we got to Kansas, I insisted on finding a motel made out of brick. Turned the TV to the radar channel. Trouble sleeping that night.
I'm with Angela, will take an earthquake over a tornado any day!

Hello from California where we have felt 3 earthquakes over the last 3 months around magnitude 4, but now with shake alert, our phones alarm, giving us ten seconds to brace ourselves. There is always that instant rush of adrenaline every time you hear the alarm or that first "OMG it's an earthquake", but then in the next second ya just roll back over and go back to sleep usually! But yes, those tornadoes. I went to school in Ohio and wow, they had gorgeous thunderstorms and amazing skies, then then sirens go off and it's time to get into he basement. A few years ago I was in Massachusetts driving when suddenly the radio had an emergency alarm and I had to pull inot the Walmart parking lot and with a 100 people, we ran in to the store where the manager took all of quikcly to the back and of the store inside some storage area. So fun!!!!

Lol!😂 I was in Kansas and I had just pulled up to the casino on the pottawatomy Reservation there was a storm coming in a really bad storm. The security guards were standing outside yelling at me to run and to get into the building that a Tornado was coming in. Everybody in the casino what's underground underground I guess it was a basement. They took me into the basement with everybody else. You could hear all kinds of rattling and sounded like a Train above us. I was so scared because I only knew earthquakes. I had never experienced a tornado. I was so scared and then I wanted my dad and then I started to cry!😂 I told the people that I was standing next to that I was from California and we only had Earthquakes.

I’ve been through tornadoes and earthquakes, I mean really bad so neither one of them I do not wish to be a part of!
But, storm surge has to be the worst for me. Waves as high as 8 to 10 feet tall and I was in a mid size boat close to the shore. That right there I thought this was it, no way we can survive this and reach the shore line in one piece. Everyone on the small boat panicked except for me.
I waited patiently for what I thought would be the end, but it never came.
Did I mentioned that it was only a dream? 😂

Remember his routine about the “take” and the “double take” and the “double double take.” Each of which was illustrated by a different face! Hilarious! I've lived my whole life in and around OKC. Every spring is tornado season. You just get used to it. The WEIRD thing is how fracking has now brought earthquakes here, starting about ten years ago. Recent restrictions on fracking have greatly reduced the frequency of earthquakes, but we just had some a few days ago. 4.4 here. We had a 5.something maybe eight years ago that put a huge crack in the wall of our house. Crazy.

I’m from North Carolina and now live in Ohio. As a kid, I used to love spring because it meant summer was coming. As an adult, I hate it because it means allergies and MANY tornados. Been here five years, and every time the sirens go off (my apartment complex is right next to one), I do the same thing as Angelah. I ran downstairs one time and beat on my neighbor’s door wearing a comforter and carrying my cellphone and Keurig machine. No ID. No shoes. No charger. No keys. Left my apartment completely unlocked. I don’t know what the hell I was thinking!

In the 1990s I went to school in Ohio. I'm from California, so earthquakes earthquakes earthquakes, but in Ohio, those tornadoes and thunderstorms were so exciting especially at night when we we go on the roof and see the beauty of the stormy skies every time lightening would light it up .... the colors, wow, gorgeous. Eventually though we'd end up in some tornado basement in the building. Those storms were amazing.

My grandparents lived in Oroville CA and during the earthquakes of the 70s, he laughed as mechanics would flee the garage, while the cars jumped around. He just stood watching the show as plate glass exploded in the showroom flloor. Said the ground rocked like an ocean. The house he built though, the chimney was so solid, it never even cracked. Sadly, I've slept through the only earthquake I've been in, and have yet to see a tornado (on my bucket list).

I can feel for you, sister. My husband was in the Air Force and we moved all over. We had tornadoes in Florida earthquakes in California. 52 days of rain a.k.a. not even Noah had to go through that in Germany. Tornado in North Carolina. 20 years of moving around so far no big emergencies at home in Virginia and he dug a basement because our house we bought didn’t have one. It’s got indoor and outdoor entrance so you’re good to go.

I’ve been through tornado warnings when I lived in OKC for 2 years😭😭the sirens HARMONIZED IN A HORROR WAY! It wasn’t even harmonious in a pretty way it was like a horror movie. It was absolutely terrifying. We were lucky enough that the tornado jumped over our house and hit the next neighborhood instead. We didn’t even have a basement. I was utterly petrified 💀I’m from Alaska. I deal with earthquakes. I’ll gladly deal with the earth shaking than to be ripped apart thrown into the sky

5:40...How you say about rubber bands...I'm that way with paper and cardboard boxes -- never know when you might need a good cardboard box. They've become especially valuable since I viewed a video on little, Japanese women going about town collecting and selling for money.
