  • Hello,
    Please watch this entire video before attempting repair
    This video shows the fastest method I use to replace a damaged and or scratched digitizer lens on the Nintendo Switch console. I highly recommend installing a screen protector after this repair as these screens scratch easily.
    Keep in mind while using heat to keep the heat moving and use low setting to avoid damaging the LCD

      It bothers me immensely as well. Did you replace yours yourself? And how easy or complicated was it? Things like these always look easier in a video than in real life.
      The adhesive looked like something annoying to deal with - I saw that on ebay its possible to get replacement adhesive. I think my biggest concern is is dust landing on the lcd while it exposed and then accidentally getting trapped there after the replacement digitizer has already been stuck on.

    I just did this, and it was rather difficult. Wouldn't recommend to a beginner. Getting the old digitizer out is the hardest part, because there really aren't any edges for you to stick a tool in, and metal tools like screwdrivers are a definite no, they'll destroy the plastic casing. Prying from the speaker holes with a plastic tool was the only option I could find. I replaced the digitizer and put the Switch back together. Peeled off the protective film. And guess what? I forgot to remove the film from the other side of the digitizer! I had to do the operation all over again. It's done now, but there's some dust between the screen and the digitizer. From my experience this is almost impossible to avoid. Happens to me every time I put a new housing on any device. Also, if you're planning to do this, remember that the digitizer is different for v1 and v2 Switches.

    • @LeKingCarnage
      @LeKingCarnage 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      A neat trick I use in installing screen protectors without dust might work when reinstalling digitizers. I install screen protectors in the bathroom after steaming (just run a hot shower or use a steamer) which pulls the dust down to the floor making it easier to focus on installing the screen protector instead of removing dust particles every couple of seconds.
