    Hi Paul
    On minute 7:25 u didn’t place the manana after the “si” was that intentional ?because from previous course u mentioned to place it right after the “si”

    Paul: I was told about your lessons from an Irish fellow in Jalisco Mexico a couple of weeks ago. He explained how easy it was for him to learn with your format and style. I've always struggled over the years with numerous books and methods that just frustrated me (and the classroom lessons were absolute torture for me too) so I would eventually give up and cling to the little knowledge of spanish from when I was a kid.
    Well, I just completed lesson 9 and I cannot believe how much comprehension I am learning and retaining already. I've learned more, RETAINED more in the 9 lessons so far than I've ever learned in my life!
    I have now purchased your main course to begin after lesson 10. Thanks so much for making this fun, easy and possible Paul!

    I’m curious why it would not be “voy a ver si mañana puedo hablar cob ella otra vez” In the video the mañana is at the end of this sentence but I thought we just learned that it shouldn’t be

    Hmmmm...."si puedo hacerlo manana" or as mentioned in your earlier class if I'm not wrong, "si manana puedo harcelo"? When do we put the day/time after the if? Is it compulsory? I'm a little confused here and would like some clarification. Thank you!

    • @stevan2818
      @stevan2818 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I noticed it too, probably a mistake on his behalf but as he said earlier you are not wrong to say it anyway, it only sounds more natural to put manana in front

    Thank you Paul for these lovely courses. My husband is from Colombia and I have been pressured to gain fluency for two years so I can speak with my mother-in-law on my own. My husband is continually surprised by my new found confidence and ability to share a few more things here and there. My brother-in-law has also noticed an expansion in my vocabulary and ability to speak and share in a grammatically correct way. I cannot thank you enough for sharing your gift of teaching Spanish on TH-cam!

    This is my second time around doing the mini courses, because I missed some questions on the test. I still have confusion about when to put the time frame after "si". The translation in lesson 9 frame 7:13 doesn't show mañana as coming after si. Why is that?

    Paul, I appreciate all these lessons. I continue to be amazed as I keep looking back at the number of views up to where i am currently. And as of the date of this post, there were over 405k people who watched video #1 and that has dwindled down to over 57k by video #9.
    The majority, just about 350k people, started learning spanish with you, and then somewhere along the path told themselves it was useless and they couldn't grasp it, or didn't have the time, or whatever other excuse and quit. While the minority stuck to it and are hear giving thanks for the progress they have made through your help.
    In about a 3-4 months total timeframe, off and on, i have committed myself to learning spanish along side my busy life and am proud to say it comes much easier to speak competently in spanish and translate what I read online. It can be done if you tell yourself and discipline your mind to stay at it, even if that means only 15mins a day, it will happen!!

    Thank you Paul, your lessons are the best. I need a clarification as in the earlier lessons you have said that when 'today, tomorrow , later 'these words plus'if' is present in the sentence then you have to add today, tomorrow etc after 'if'. But in one of the sentences, I cant be here today so I am going to see if I can do it tomorrow , while translating the place of tomorrow is not changed, similarly I had observed in Mini Course 8 where the place of yesterday was not changed

    Paul, you make learning Spanish so much easier. I have been learning Spanish for years using books and different "courses", but never really enjoyed it. It was actually rather painful. You make it more functional and less painful. You don't get caught up in too many grammer lessons and just teach it like every day conversation. Thank you.

    • @SpanishWithPaul
      @SpanishWithPaul  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Jody, yes I try to avoid grammar in my teaching as much as I can. It suits some people but for most it's just something that gets in the way and complicates rather than simplifies.

      Thanks for your question! Either way wouldn't be heard as "wrong" so the choice is yours... especially at this beginner level. It all depends upon the particular sentence as to what sounds the most natural in Spanish and you only develop this sensitivity by having a lot of daily contact with the language.

    I’m Indian and my wife is Honduran, and I’ve tried learning Spanish in school, through apps and on my own off and on for years. I’m stunned at how seamless Paul has made teaching Spanish and quite shocked at how much I’ve picked up in 9 mini courses than all previous attempts. Paul prob won’t read this but you are special for putting these courses on YT.

      Hey Stephen, yes it really does go a long, long way. If you want the maximum value from the few Spanish words you learn... learn words/phrases that make you come across as polite.

    Why is "I'm going to see if I can speak with her again tomorrow" not translated to "I'm going to see if tomorrow I can speak with her again?"

    • @dianevan2326
      @dianevan2326 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reason why it is "I'm going to see if I can speak with her again tomorrow" instead of translated to "I'm going to see if tomorrow I can speak with her again?" because as Paul explains in an earlier mini course (I believe it was mini course 8) that the first way is the most natural way to say it.

      I found an answer from Paul in the thread about 10months back. He said that it sounded better with manana at the end in this sentence. So I guess it’s just an exception to the si-rule he gave in an earlier lesson.

    Paul you really put it into overdrive this time! much more new content in this episode ... thst being said it is exciting because it is adding more tools in my tool box to communicate faster. what all the other programs seem to really lack is context ...you really use context and mixing in new information with the old to help with retention a lot! once again, thank you
