  • You know, there are certain words in Spanish that are as close to "magic" as you can get in a language and in this lesson I let you in on some of the most useful Spanish vocabulary you can know.
    DOWNLOAD THE COURSE BOOK: spanishwithpau...
    START LEARNING SPANISH HERE: • Spanish With Paul Mini...
    MONDAY LESSON SERIES: • Monday's Spanish Lesso...
    Hi everyone, Paul here :)
    Today we're going to focus on some of the most powerful Spanish words and phrases you can know. These are little snipets I use all the time in my own Spanish and I actually refer to them as "glue words". Why? Because they have the power to literally glue your sentences together and make them sound much more natural. In short, they help your Spanish to flow.
    Now bear in mind that this is just a small sample of my "glue word" collection but I'm pretty sure you'll see the immense value they can add to your own spoken Spanish if you'll take them on board.
    The best way is to take what I'm giving you here today and start working them into your own Spanish immediately to get the maximum benefit from this lesson.
    Enjoy and see you next Monday,
    Paul

    This was another fun lesson for me, Paul. Of course, I've known these four phrases for many years, so it was fun for me to try to anticipate which one you were introducing at each point in the lesson. And I'm really enjoying reading the comments from your students who are learning these phrases and trying them out for the first time. I like how you're building their confidence in practicing their Spanish here. I just hope I'm able to set as good and effective example for them as you are! :)

    Por qué no "acabo de", en vez de "solo" decir "just"? Necesito saber!! 😆 Gracias por todo,Paul.

    • @CananaMan
      @CananaMan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Creo el porqué es "acabo de" is "just" in the sense that "I just now did something", since "acabar" es un verbo que significa algo similar de "to end up", y "solo/solamente" es una palabra significa "only", like if you said "I just want one", it's interchangeable with "I only want one", therefore it is "solo quiero uno".
      "Acabo de quiero uno" would sound more like you just NOW decided you wanted one, rather than saying you just only want one.
      Hope this makes sense!

    • @austinlang6946
      @austinlang6946 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CananaMan also to add to this you will always use the full verb after De and all prepositions. So it would never be acabo de and then a verb conjugated. Always the infinitive.

    What is the difference between aquí y por aquí? Gracias!

    • @zayru4
      @zayru4 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Aquí = Here.
      Por Aquí/ cerca= Around, over here, when a person says to another one (which is the one that you have a meeting) that you are around... almost close in the place where you're gonna see him/her.
      Example:
      - ¿Dónde estás? Aún estoy te estoy esperando por casi dos horas desde que salí.
      - Oh! Lo siento, ya estoy llegando. Estoy "por aquí".
      Which it means:
      - Where are you? i'm still waiting for you almost two hours since I went out.
      - Oh! Sorry, I'm coming. I'm around.
      Also, "Por Aquí" means too that you are indicating a relate city, ville, place... where someone relate to you is and you too (but not so necessary being relate to someone) you can say it too just to express that you're in the place that someone else have mentioned.
      - ¿Tú también vives en Texas? / Are you too living in Texas?
      - Sí, yo estoy viviendo "por aquí". / Yeah, i'm living around here in Texas.
      - Vivo en Chicago ¿y tú en dónde? / I live in Chicago, and you?
      - Yo vivo "por aquí" en Texas. / I live around here in Texas.
      Hope you had understood.
      Cheer up, you can learn spanish. :)
