I was power washing a deck without safety glasses and ended up with a micro splinter in my eye. Words cannot describe how painful it was...after an eye doctor used a microscope to remove it I had to wear an eye patch for a week as my eye could not stand any light. No man should tell another what to do and Matt can go ahead and do his thing...but I learned a BIG lesson that day.
Kudos for not insisting someone else take actions for your life lesson 👏 I can relate and then some, I caught a punch with my eye and am totally blind in it. I will comment on eye safety if asked, but ultimately everyone has to make there own decisions 😉 literally 🤣🤣🤣
I worked in an engineering workshop for 1 of the Big 3 which required safety glasses on at all times, but sometimes when just passing through I would not wear them until I got pointed out by and a raised voice from a big boss, so next time walking through I had them on and as I passed by a vehicle in a bay, out of nowhere I got hit with a stream of washer fluid in the face that would have got me directly in the eyes. Thank you for calling me out, big boss! SAFETY FIRST!
I was brushing the stairs and got a tiny splinter of glass in my eye. Local Doctor couldn't get it, optician couldn't get it, went to a+e and the nurse (probably emotionally cold) scrapped it out with a scalpel. Instant relief.
I had a expensive set of prescription eye protection glasses that saved my eye sight in at least one eye. Blown case with a piece of brass about 2 mm long embedded in center of lens half way through it. Had many 4.5 and Dremal tool cut off wheels come apart let alone wire brushes. Few weeks back I got a new full face shield, I started not to then thought What the heck... you only got 2 eyes non replaceable.

Hey Matt, I know you don't get a lot of rain in Hurricane, but it would be best to drill some drain holes in those lower shock mounts to let the sand out.
This was priceless just to see Matt beaming like a Cheshire cat. Congratulations you've achieved a lot can hardly wait until it's on the road. Thanks to the whole crew and everybody that helped build that record
I've read up on you guys... what an amazing success story. I'm an old guy who has built 2 Lancair aircraft in my life and do a lot of fabricating in my wood shop here in Montana. I think your greatest asset is Lizzie. You all are great and I really mean it. Everyone fulfills a role. Matt stands on his own as a personality. Jaime (spelling?) is the perfect compliment... what a nice and pretty girl. Ed is the bomb. I could mention all the rest of the players but I've got to say that Lizzie is the "over the top" valuable addition to your whole endeavor. I think she's kind of the "glue" that makes everything flow seamlessly. Love you guys... Steve in Montana.
I am amazed how great Lizzy has become at welding and working in recovery, such a long way in a short time. Better watch out Matt there may be a LAD around the corner Lizzy's Adventure and design lol. You and the whole team are awesome 👌
Those shocks look really good!! Good save Matt!! The true definition of a craftsman. Someone who can correct their mistakes and make it look like it never happened! LOL!! Lizzy is getting to be a real pro at welding. The beads I saw looked perfect!!

Matt, Lizzy and Hunter are a good team and made some serious progress on the biggest wrecker today getting the shock's mounted after fixing a few discrepancies this wrecker is getting closer to being put to work on recovery's where it's needed badly. Good job 👍
I noticed a lot of UPS packages in your shop. I've always enjoyed delivering to family owned business. They treat a lot of us drivers like we're part of their family's. Sometimes they get overly excited when the parts come in . I definitely enjoy watching your videos
Although there are bigger wreckers out there this one is the best for me. The whole journey of building it and all just takes a special place in my heart. Hope to see it soon put to use
im amazed how far lizzy has become in welding skill..wish i had learned welding at an early age..VERY useful skill to know, and can open alot of doors later in life
Just a side note Matt, I bought a framing hammer in 1975 when I was building trusses. I still have it and yes I've worn the waffles out a few times, but I just filed new ones in. Still use it, and sometimes like you, it is used for projects it wasn't meant for. Keep up the good work. I really get a kick out of you guys. 😁
Lizzy you Rock ! ! ! See if the stop to keep the winch away from the higher shock tower can be the same mechanism that you use to pull the boom down so it doesn't get pushed forward by loads on the hook. Never ever ever limit steering angle. She's a big girl, and will need lots of steering angle. Still supporting TowMORR as the name.
Matt looks so happy! You can tell he's having so much fun with this build. I also like the way his friends can joke around with him - Robby Layton sticker.
I love your work, team spirit, sense of humour, can do/get it done ethos. You guys are top notch. Matt you really need to put ear plugs in while welding overhead. You will loose the hearing in one of your ears (or worse) if a molten ball of slag rolls in there.
I’m not an off road guy but love your channel. I love that you don’t make those folks that got stuck feel stupid, instead you’re encouraging and most of all helpful. I love that you and your crew are always positive and motivated to help one another. You don’t use foul language to get your point across and yet even when it’s tough you work the problem. I’m a dirt bike guy and have no interest in four wheels but your show is much more than getting folks unstuck and four wheeling. Your show motivates others to do better and do the right thing. Your show has helped me be better and for that I thank you, your family and your crew.
Those shocks look awesome! And Lizzie’s work is impressive … however she clearly still has some lessons to learn. Not only did she wear those weird hand-cover things, but I didn’t see her inadvertently grab something she’d just welded and burn herself once in that entire video. Keep teaching her, Matt … she’ll figure it out! 😂
I've gotta admit that it hurt to see that hood get cut and modified, but the end result looks good. I'm retired from the auto industry, but if I can figure out a way, I might see you guys at SEMA.
First, its great to see Lizzy in this episode more than some of the others. Yea Lizzy! As a design engineer, I'm amazed to see the wrecker coming together without a piece of paper in sight and measurements being made using a yellow inch tape. I can't wait to see it in action.
Well Matt Lizzy and gang, those shocks look absolutely amazing, and I see nothing wrong with the way the bracketing worked out. The lip you left when cutting off the old tops will only strengthen the assembly. I was so impressed when you said you were going to do some CAD work Matt, I almost spit out my cup of tea, the acronym you used for your CAD was fantastic and typical you, CAD (Cardboard Aided Drafting), magic, pure magic. You should patent it before someone at Fab Rats steals your idea PML. The overall look of the wrecker looks formidable, I can’t wait to hear the engine roar to life. I cannot imagine the rear steering so look forward to that surprise too. Stay safe guys and keep on fabbing.
That THANG is looking awesome. You guys have come a long way. It's been great seeing it taking shape and now can hardly wait to see it doing its thing. Pretty sure it's going to become a tourist attraction in and of itself. I, for one, will have to stop by sooner or later.

What I really like about you Matt, is that you are a quiet tough guy, that's old school, that's how I was taught. Seeing you welding from below without helmet, or protection. Once you learn that, it simply keeps on going. Way to go!
I passed through Hurricane the other day, I saw the Morvair and the Banana. It's a bigger town than I thought, we usually see the yard and Maverick before they get out there.
i know everyone has their opinion, and preferences, and commenters never care about your budget....but, i would have loved to see double coilovers on each corner of this build with some airbags out back.
I can relate to your shower of sparks. When I was working at a major Hollywood Studio, we were building Roll Cages for a certain TV Show. while I was under the vehicle welding a small blob of red hot metal fell into my ear canal, I felt it burn its way down and into my throat. I could not move fast enough to stop its progress. Oh well not to worry it heat sealed the damage in the canal. Your Heavy Wrecker is Looking Fantastic, keep up the great work!
Lizzy you will never have a problem getting a job welding. You're skilled that is for sure. It seems like you just started not so long ago with welding with a crappie welding machine and was welding better than anyone else in the shop. Now with the new machine you are knocking it outta the ballpark. Matt you're good at fabrication then refashioning the fabrication lol. I don't know how well this wrecker will preform but it sure looks great. The best I have ever seen. You have a great team working with you. Congratulations on what looks like a work of art.

Just what I was thinking. 👍
I’m a joiner and work with many of your principals. Let’s start at the beginning and make our way to the finish 👍🏻
See you at the SEMASHOW !! 😎👍🏻🇺🇸🙏🏻😇safe travels 😎
This was priceless just to see Matt beaming like a Cheshire cat. Congratulations you've achieved a lot can hardly wait until it's on the road. Thanks to the whole crew and everybody that helped build that record
Personally, I'm more excited for when it's *off* the road. :)
No kidding, her welds are awesome.
The more I watch this build the more impressed I am. And it’s gonna be at SEMA!! Lizzie’s welds are gonna be in SEMA. Super rad!
@@flat-earther haha. No.
Why is it that 201k watched the video but only 21k bothered to give it a 👍.
If it’s worth 20 minutes of your time, surely it’s worth a 👍.
Forgot, thanks for the reminder
Lizzy is getting crazy good on those beads!!! I wish I lived near there as I'd love to help out. Such a great team, great project and who doesn't love Lizzy!!!
I can't wait to see this this truck run through the desert. The fabrication is outstanding. Love the rivets and the new shock towers are gorgeous.
Matt, Lizzy and Hunter are a good team and made some serious progress on the biggest wrecker today getting the shock's mounted after fixing a few discrepancies this wrecker is getting closer to being put to work on recovery's where it's needed badly. Good job 👍
Lizzie is a badass!! The one thing I wished my daddy had taught me was welding!!! Love how patient and kind Matt seems on camera.
I noticed a lot of UPS packages in your shop. I've always enjoyed delivering to family owned business. They treat a lot of us drivers like we're part of their family's. Sometimes they get overly excited when the parts come in . I definitely enjoy watching your videos
The wrecker is looking great! Things are coming together. Those are very nice welds, Lizzy! 👍
I pressed the like button b 4 I even started too watch this...I always enjoy this channel...thanx Matt and crew!..
Yeah, and that silly bucket thing over her face - you're supposed to squint turn away as the arc strikes and just guess where the puddle flows!😁
Egg-zactly! That’s the really advanced stuff.
Lizzie you have become a hell of a welder!! Great job
It's really coming together! Matt's "Mind Design" is turning out to be one of the best looking if not best wreckers around.
I'm ready to see this thing put to work. Almost there. Hopfully by the start of 2023 it will be on the job
Looks like a warthog with those shock towers coming through the hood and the tow hooks on the “snout”! Might be a good name! The warthog wrecker!
Hello friends! I hope you’re having a great Sunday?
Yes indeed! And you?
Lizzy is one heck of a welder. You are Blessed too have her working with.
That THANG is looking awesome. You guys have come a long way. It's been great seeing it taking shape and now can hardly wait to see it doing its thing. Pretty sure it's going to become a tourist attraction in and of itself. I, for one, will have to stop by sooner or later.
Man That looks freaking awesome!! I’m excited for Matt 😅 it’s the coolest wrecker I’ve ever seen and it’s a wrecker that everyone would dream of having that’s what makes it so unique I love it Fantastic work Matt and Lizzy and the whole team lol
Can’t wait to see this finished. Amazing skills on this build so far. Love it guys!!
If you had no idea, one would think that Lizzy is a professionally trained welder. Seriously! And those shocks are insane! Best shocks you can buy bar none! Wait until the engine comes in! Texas Speed baby!
This part of making custom stuff sucks, but it's a REAL part of creation on the fly. Thanks for showing it and staying authentic even if it's a little painful to the ego. Can't wait to see this thing drive backwards through Moab with towmater.
Lizzie is really good you should be very thankful that she is so good at all her weldingthank you for all of the coverage of your wrecker I am sure that it will handle any rescue that it is fequired
Lizzie is getting an education that's actually worth more than any school. I enjoy watching her growth. I wish my kid/grandchild had her grasp of what's n why! Great job Matt at being a mentor!
Tucker: creds to you for the speed welding with Lizzy: really shows how good she is at producing professional work. Love this build progress and the way you all adapt to change so easily!
Absolutely beautiful so far. Can’t wait to see more videos soon. It's coming along nicely guys. Can't wait to see it put to uses. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friends. Fab On. Weld On. Tow On. Keep recovering. Keep towing. Keep Making. God Bless.
Am I the only one that had that “ok, that’s BA!” Moment when we got the aerial shot of the wrecker? Tucker, or whoever did that shot, it was great to help us viewers put this thing into perspective.
Matt that truck is looking Awesome!! Speaking of Awesome, Lizzie those weld's Whew Wee, way to go Girl. By the way Lizzie, I saw that!! 👍💝😁
I am Impressed with Lizzy's work ethics, how she enjoys her work and not afraid to try something new. She loves animals, she was raised right, and is a great person. I wish she was my Granddaughter!
Maaan... I can't wait to look this beast over at SEMA in person.
What a fantastic show. I just viewed Ms. Lizzie. Doing fantastic welding, over and over the entire SUPER WREAKER. Thanks for showing us real FINE welds. MS. Lizzie makes everything took easy. We look forward to SEMA footage.
What I really like about you Matt, is that you are a quiet tough guy, that's old school, that's how I was taught. Seeing you welding from below without helmet, or protection. Once you learn that, it simply keeps on going. Way to go!
@@flat-earther flat earth is an ignorant position. There are plenty of different proofs. Do not fall into fanatism
BILL STEEN...GREAT PRODUCT!!! I WENT TO DIFFERENT SCHOOLS WITH BILL...YUP
You all do these adjustments without a single swear word . Kudos ! Thx for the vid. - Ken
I passed through Hurricane the other day, I saw the Morvair and the Banana. It's a bigger town than I thought, we usually see the yard and Maverick before they get out there.
Wow she is getting really good at welding. Well done to you and you teacher.
Man, Lizzy's welding is looking tight!! I wish I had her skills.
You should make the shock covers on the front, old style search lights. Just an idea
The feeling of going back through the wrecker building videos is how I imagine someone feels watching their kids grow up
i know everyone has their opinion, and preferences, and commenters never care about your budget....but, i would have loved to see double coilovers on each corner of this build with some airbags out back.
Lizzy's come so far with her hand at welding, so good.
The edit with the music at the end at 17:59. OMG that was soooo good !!! It gave me goosebumps haha Great Job !😲👌
Thank you for making my morning exciting !!! Matt , The heavy wrecker is really something !!!! The drone shot of this amazing peice of machinery really shows how great this thing is !!! I'm getting really excited so I bet you are really really really really excited !!! Matt its just so cool , That stance !! That incredible design !! That look of originality !! The way it really is built so clean and practical !! I'm getting really excited !!!! Lizzie those welds are a testament to the skill that "you" have . I honestly can't believe how great this looks . And I know that its certainly going to be a asset to MORR . I'm incredibly impressed with the complete build . I'm looking forward to seeing head lights and all those special last touches that WILL bring the heavy wrecker into service !!! I can't wait... I truly can't wait to see testing and the inevitable first RECOVERY.. its truly a peice of art Matt !!! A FANTASTIC peice of engineering...!!!! Did I mention that I'm really excited 🤔 ???? MATT !!! " I'M REALLY EXCITED !!! " 😃
So, glad to see Matt wearing his Personal safety protection. Lizzie's welds are becoming fantastic. I can't wait to see the Heavy Wrecker completed.
Those shock towers (both front and rear) would be a perfect place to mount insane rock lights to shoot light off to the side of the rig on night recoveries.
Best part of this whole wrecker series is life size Ed in the background of so many shots.
Being a welder myself I never wear rings, but I notice one on Litzy left hand
Seeing that beast doing a recovery job is what I am waiting for. Hopefully before 2023? That is coming up fast
