I just want to share my husband is a fan and enjoys watching all your videos. It is because of your videos that he was able to help a family that was stuck on south fork mountain in trinity county California from going over the mountain in the snow. They had their truck for a week and were just watching it slide off the side of the mountain. He anchored the back end to a tree while he was able to hook to the front and pull it back on to the road. He said he knew what to do because of your videos. Thanks for creating great content.
This is great
Way to embarrass him
😂
There are definitely so steep hillsides in Trinity County! Glad he could help them.
This videos dont only show you how to recover, but mainly how to not get stuck firts....
Not too many jobs are that physically, mentally, logistically, and technically demanding. It's a testament to Matt's abilities as well as rig design. You really earned your dinner.
Not the dinner, the pie! 🥧
They all earned their supper!
Quite the lesson in multiple winches, lots of extensions, a dozen soft shackles and 2 or 3 ring pulleys. Don’t try this at home!
the amount of rigging and re-rigging alone makes me think Matt was a pirate in a past life! i doubt there are many tow truck drivers out there who could think past their one winch, let alone seven winch lines, recovery ropes, soft shackles, etc. That was a master class in pure recovery and a refusal to give up no matter how hard the job became. The inspiration is palpable!
@@Zorbino88 LOL yeah, these rings are modern version of those wooden ones on pirate ships. Similar design. 😂
You know what impressed me most about this recovery? Matt and Kaulin's patience. Every time they were thrown a curve ball, they just calmly figured it out. Way to go guys!!
That is a good way to deal with things, I myself am not a doctor because there would be no point, I am constantly loosing my patients !
Thats what real men do. Not really a big deal bud.
14:34 Kaulin threw himself a curveball by poorly attaching the first bridal attempt.
@goodbyemr.anderson5065 Which there are not too many of in todays nonsensical world. So, yes praise is appropriate. Don’t be a party pooper.
There comes a time in a man's life where there's a realization that getting angry over things that don't go as planned does nothing but create more problems. If you adopt the mindset that your plans will most likely go awry of what you envision, you'll appreciate the times they don't more often.
The amount of driving you guys do never ceases to amaze me. You drove at least 24 hours round trip just to recover 1 vehicle.
cheaper to let it rot and get fined lol
@@TheGuruStud Probably didn't even charge them. The content is golden.
@@jemezray1660 exactly. The content potential is a big part of these jobs. Who wants to see him pull a rental car out of sand, when you can watch him pull a old F150 up the side of a mountain?
Worst part is. Living in multiple small rural towns. Good chance the thief is standing next to you at the top. Thier is always a hand full that will steal your wallet and help you look for it.
Thank you I was going to say the same thing could even be the owner because if the truck is not visible from the road, how would the thief know it’s there it Has to be someone within the circle
Had a “friend” like that
Buddy rolled a jeep years back, i broke my shoulder, while they got me out of woods and passed to another truck, about hour away from his rig and they got back to it being raided, then guys proceeded to come help him recover with his straps they stole

I do towing and recovery as well and I’m like Matt and his crew, I LOVE it, but I’ve noticed that NO ONE other than Matt and his crew have smiles on their faces while working on such a crazy job that’s one of the many reasons Ive been on this channel for so many years❤❤❤
Tbf after a long drive and multiple issues sometimes you just wanna get the job done
Also could be that Matt's is making $$ and the others are spending it.
@@tysleight I would certainly hope that Matt charged this guy for this recovery. Fuel and motel rooms and food costs money.
Could it be the U-Tube camera is on ?
There was once a guy who picked up a crashed car near my house and the flatbed driver was screaming and cursing up a storm. It really was a pretty basic recovery of a mildly damaged car. The guy was furious and just hating life every second. I was sitting there watching like “what is this guy’s problem!?” Attitude is everything.
Let's take a moment to appreciate Matt's overall physical condition. I've no idea how many times he hiked up and down that cliff, but...
It was a lot. You are a tenacious bull Mr. Matt
Kaulin too!
@dalesmith112 Matt and his boy and never not once did whine cry belly ache or complain not once and kept a smile and a awesome attitude the whole time!
Great people and maybe it will rub off on others!
You have to be kidding!?!
You can hear him puffing like a steam train after the first step!
What he does have though is more will power and tenacity than any one person should be allowed to have.
What he lacks in aerobic fitness is more than made up for. I for one wouldn't want to be in the way of him and whatever he's decided he's going to do.

Total novice here. Growing up my father always reminded me, safety glasses are not nearly as annoying as a lost eyeball. Hope y'all stay safe and thanks for the video!
Of all the dangerous and unsafe stuff they do on this channel, safety glasses are the least of their worries
Yup. Wasn't that good about using my safety glasses on the job, till one day, a tiny blob of molten slag got flicked up and seared itself to my eyelid which I only BARELY got closed in time as I had seen it coming.
It was literally cooked to my skin, and would have done permanant damage to my cornea if it had hit it instead.
After that, I kept the safety glasses on all the time lol.
@MrJeffcoley1 doesnt mean they shouldn't wear them. L comment
Great channel and love these guys , but seeing them doing recoveries like these and cutting or grinding steel continually without safety glasses on does my head in to watch . I only say this out of concern they might get a serious injury , but sometimes people just got to learn the hard way . 🤔
I wish I had a dad. Your kids are so lucky to have you, Matt. You can tell how much they appreciate you from every video.
He is so great with his crew. A great family man!
@joethebumbler Hello
You wish you had a cool dad, don't you dare think all dads are cool like Matt.
Mine's OK but he don't do things with his kids, just mom. work, church, and sleep.
My father was great he always took me places we work on cars together we would go on fishing trips. I miss him passed on 30 years ago ill never forget him. I remember when growing up so many friends fathers had almost no interaction with their kids all they did was watch football on TV and work. When their kids grew up they moved out of state hardly spoke to them they wonder why.
I hear you, man.
No matter how stressful things get these people are kind to each other. Terrific example of how men can exhibit love.
Yeah. It’s not really a wrecker show.
Ya.. the camera's are on
My guess is the friend is the thief. I seriously doubt someone saw that behind the trees.
@@LeeHigginson nah friend spoke to someone who is a loudmouth. Tweakers caught wind. And goodbye all your stuff
@@dormantmenace nah only thing Matt was mad at was the thieves
My dad was a little like Matt. He was pretty old school when it came to fixing and fabricating things. He never found a car truck or other mechanical thing he couldn't fix or modify to get it to work and was always willing to help me learn the things he knew. He been gone now for 24 years and I really miss him. I consider myself so blessed to have a great dad, that loved his kids and was always willing to sacrifice anything for our success.
Lost my father June 2024, He was the same way. I learned a lot from him at a very young age. His motto was if you never failed, you have never learned anything new. By age 9, I knew plumbing, electrical, framing, roofing and bricklaying. It was not until I was almost 30 that I realized what I know is very uncommon. Tape measure, saw nor hammer? You know none of them? I know I knew what they were at age 5 when mom asked me what I needed them for. Her response was "better wait for you dad"
Wow yes I understand how much you must miss him...yes you were/are so blessed to have a dad like him.
Hey Matt, Western Canada here, like you I'm am a backroad kind of guy , best why to go. When working in N Alberta we would carry chains only for the front to maintain steering along with good tires all around. Learned the hard way to unload the quad before getting stuck and having to use it and a chainsaw to get out. Love your show, You are lucky to have a great faintly and employees
And each rig needs at least 2 radios with chargers in it. Great job guys!
- or wired vehicle radios...
and headlamps
WOW!
I think the nextstep up is a helicopter, for such Mission Impossibles!
I'm a big fan of having comms in the recovery business!📡💯
@@kadmow Proper hardwired radios don't seem to be a thing in the US. In Australia, every 4x4 and big rig has a UHF CB in the dash and most people carry at least one of the little GME handhelds in the plastic crate with all your odds and ends in it. We still use CB a lot on the road but it looks to be out of style over there, even the big rigs don't always have one any longer, not like here.
Some takeaways from this recovery for me: 1. Matt's problem-solving ability really is excellent. 2. Matt's fitness is pretty impressive too. 3. Kaulin's committment, focus and trust in his dad on stuff like this is really makes a difference. One thing though Kaulin, you stepped inside the V from the truck on the hill while working on the shackle setup and if the line has broken you would have been dragged down with the vehicle. Great episode guys - kept me on the edge of my seat.
14:38 Poor bridal placement though, first though as soon as I sae him do it.
😘😘😘😘💕💕💕💕💖💖
I noticed that too. Not a safe move stepping inside the V.
Excellent job guys. The fact that people are calling you in from California shows how unique and expert your company is at what you do. And the wrecker continues to prove that your vision building it was spot on. Thanks for sharing.
It’s actually more that there are a lot of lazy and un-creative people. It’s not rocket science.
No
Actually way too much effort for a pile of usless metal
I wonder what the $ charges were !
Not to add all the days and motel nights ,food, fuel etc
Would add up to !
Way more than that metal hillbilly pile.
@ Your correct but I’m sure the property owner (the BLM?) insisted on its removal.

This is my new favorite show. I'm a little interested in what you do, but I LOVE the interplay between the workers. You treat each other with respect. You are willing to say when you've made a mistake, and you tease each other in a gentle way. Also, no F words. You are all hard workers. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I will start looking for your show more now.
Can't believe you guys pulled that recovery off as well as you did. I was in the recovery business myself and I would have never been able to do what you did there. Hats off to you and your crew.
OUTSTANDING!!!!!
What a job! Rigging more complex than a big old sailing ship; and it worked too. Not too happy that Kaulin got hit by a rock sprung out of the ground by a rope; better eye protection needed and hard hat too. Maybe call tough recoveries "hard hat grade" and then nobody will think wearing one is a sign of weakness. Like my last Greyhound and a collar... sees or hears it being picked up and it's an exciting going-out thing.
What kind of wrecker did you have? Was it the previous world's largest off road wrecker? Don't sell yourself short man, if you had the same equipment, there isn't any reason why you couldn't have don't the job.
51:19 I’m impressed! Ran a wrecker for years and you did everything right. The end was the best how you rigged to the rear leafs and the truck just turned right up on the road. Great job guys.
😍😍💖💖😘😘😘😘
Retired gal here. I know nothing about wreckers and winches. I just know I really enjoy watching you rescue somebody from a very difficult situation. Great team work. Thanks for explaining things along the way. You are all so cool, calm, and collected throughout the process. Looking forward to the next video!
I second that!! like the detailed explanations!
This exactly describes my feelings as well.
This is all a fake !
How much money do you think those 2 Punks have between them and that beater truck shows they haven't a dime between them so for those clowns to drive across states and a big fake that tow truck with made in China winches which in real life need battery power and no one is running the vehicles engine to charge the battery and anyone know what happens when the vehicle isn't running and something is left on you get a dead battery.
There is a ton of fakes going in here I see
I can't believe you drove from Utah to California to do a recovery on an old Ford truck. Probably cost more for the recovery than the truck is worth.
it had to have been 3-4x the value of the vehicle. I don't understand!
@@Daniel-ng8fi same. The math isn’t mathing. Even assuming their ad revenue subsidizes the recovery.
@@JRTFMSmithson yeah, I don't imagine MORR would offer a discount on an unknown recovery in the hopes it could provide content. Maybe these people effectively are just paying a bunch of money so they can be in a MORR video?
@ I found a Techbuzz article linked from Reddit that laid it out pretty well. They do merch, sponsorships, and had a viable towing company that still makes money. The recovery operations are done with the content in mind and at as fair a price as possible. It is good evergreen content for them and they seem to have a bery saavy operation.
You can’t believe he’d go to CA to make a video that currently has 1.7M views? I can 😂
once again the wrecker walks away flexing its muscles, it truly is an awesome capable rig, great job by the crew too, that was a heavy pull job and as always they crew conquered it, thanks for sharing
Too bad they didn't build it with REAL (hydraulic) winches instead of those toy electric winches that HF gave them...
Everyone always says don't work with or for family. Matt's boys make it look so enjoyable. Kaulin is just a great kid him and Rhett have come a long way in this past year. Much love and respect from the Big East.

I gotta give it to Colin he is definitely a trooper for working up and down the side of the cliff like he did especially having damaged legs
And having a positive outlook
I forgot dude is on one leg 🦵
Kaulen, is great. but in reality all Matt's kids are wonderful, a testament to faith, structure, hands on parenting, love and support and choosing right woman. Matt won the lottery with Jaymie.
What happened to his leg?
@ as a kid bad accident. Near amputation. They’ve had to go in and lengthen it. Best details I can recall.
Kaulin getting hit in the face with a rock at 42:02 was absolutely terrifying. Goes to show the unknown risks of this line of work - be careful but never stop doing what you're doing! Amazing work.
That was the best part, rear steer boy catches rock. 😂😂😂
Old guy tip: wear eye protection. Not worth losing an eye.
What's actually terrifying is that you think that is terrifying That's ridiculous you got hit in the face with a rock calm down. I don't think you quite understand what terrifying means
Kaulin handled that like a boss. At first, I thought he got hit in the eye. They should be wearing eye protection while doing these recoveries.
That was a stone, not a rock.
Where I live in British Columbia nothing can be left in the bush without security. Without security it will be stripped, vandalized or burned to the ground. Logging companies can no longer leave gear in the bush without a security guard on site.
It is pathetic that a person can’t leave their vehicle unattended while getting a recovery lined up. Very sad .
So sad

yup, just problem solving. low bickering and no "sorry..."'s. A well lubricated machine when men work together in harmony.
There's a particular road in Colorado where if a car is abandoned more than 2 days, I'd say there's a 90% chance the windows will all be smashed out when you get back to it. I imagine they take everything useful out of it in the process. I hate thieves and vandals. Like Kaulin said, "They're already having a bad day/week."
And they do the removal in the most destructive way. I spent a month fixing every single harness under the dash of a truck that thieves stole the head unit from. They just took a knife to every single wire even if it wasn't radio related. And the dumbest part was that they stole an OEM base model head unit, which could have just been unplugged if they looked at the back of the radio.
Then again, how many times do people leave that stuff abandoned for good
At 49 minutes into the video as you are working outside after dark, KUDOS to Matt for not yelling/cursing at the person holding the flashlight for him. Matt is the OG! I hope Matt got paid for his efforts beyond an out-of-state mechanic's lien on the truck -- which got hauled off.
I was on active duty working the boarder down in El Centro in 2021-2022. Those mountains are dangerous. I'm from the western mountain region of Maine so no stranger to mountains. Gotta say i saw one video of yours just randomly today and started watching more. So far love your stuff.

@jeremyspecce what the hell are you talking about?
Matt, it was once again the truck you designed and built that did this recovery. It's winch locations and total number of winches that made this possible. For the reason that all of this equipment worked for the recovery was the Master Recovery Expert Matt. Had he not been there I don't think this recovery would have been successful. But, Matt was there and this was number two of the top three recoveries for "The Off Road Wrecker ". 1. New Mexico, this California, and the southern California. Just for the record Hanging Tree was maybe number four.
GREAT Recovery Matt and Colin...
What about the golden nugget? That was a great one as well.
David Farmer I have to agree. For the first time ever, I have watched a MORR recovery twice. Before I became a MORR fan & to this day, I am a Ron Pratt "rotator Ron" fan. Other than they both do recovery, totally opposite to each other. Until this vid. All about the math and the angles. Working with family, along with being good managers of people in general. Family friendly content. I never thought I would compare these two channels favorably, though I watch both all of the time. And sometimes wondered why I liked both. I think now I do.
OMG....that was innnteeennnse!. You get into the harriest situations Matt.!. You were throwing out calls to Craig, i had no idea what you were saying. Loved the drone. Incredable Wrecker you run.!. Blown away by you guys. Big shout out to the cameras as guys too!.

The wrecker is amazing, but it's MAtt's experience that made this job possible. That was amazing.....
😍😍😍😍😘😘😘😘😘😘💕💕💕💕
Matt is right . The hooks that were welded to the bumper, being 12 -14 inches above the mounting point on the frame , were a lever multipling the pressure on the bumper mounts . The Farmer did a good job it was just a bad placement of the hooks for picking up the whole truck.
That’s a reunel bumper, not a homemade deal. They look nice, but I’d always preferred the warn bumper on an old truck.
The bug you found was a millipede. Millipedes have round bodies with two pairs of little legs per segment of the body, centipedes have flat bodies with one pair of big legs per segment of the body. So, if it looks like a worm with a lot of little legs, it's a millipede. Millipedes are vegetarians and curl up into a ball to protect their vitals when disturbed, centipedes are active hunters that run around eating other bugs.
Appreciate the lesson. 👍
Millipedes are not just vegetarian they hunt creepy little fks like centipedes.
@@MrWiseinheartAnother crazy fact about those millipedes is that if they had gone and looked for it after dark they would see that it glows. Some of those California millipedes have bioluminesence like fireflies If your walking through the forest and see a pinprick of greenish light at your feet get out the flashlight and you will see one of those little guys curled up in the dirt.

It's fun to watch them struggle a little and overcome the challenges a job like this throws at them.
It is incredible to see Matt work through a situation so complicated and challenging. This really stretched the team but you were a master as always. Definitely need a pre-recovery check list of all the gear needed. But just like MacGyver you make do and always find a way. Amazing recovery. Kulin, is mentoring and becoming an expert in his own right. Great to see father and son.
That look like the most hardest technical recovery I've seen.
Amazing work by the whole team.
Wow.
I think a few members earned their recovery cards!
Nah, they did a canyon clean up with heavy D sparks that used two heavy off-road wreckers and connected 3 junk cars together and pulled them all up together like a chain.
if i was working on hills like that as often as these guys, i'd probably install a fast moving winch that is only used for hiking up and down the hill. the reason is that the more physically exhausted you get, the less mental acuity you have. so having a helping hand while climbing can lighten the load on the body and help make better calls in stressed situations, especially when the air is getting a little thin...
I’m so impressed of you climbing up and down that slope. Amazing job.
Yes, and you didn't mention the elevation. I think some of the huffing and puffing was due to thin air.
Wow, this has to be one of your "Top Ten" of all time jobs! Phew!
That was two day's work packed into 4 hours. Congrats on getting her out!
And you guys were in my backyard. I thought those roads looked familiar! LOL
What you found was a millipede. They are mostly found with a black tubular body, while centipedes are larger in size, have bigger antennas, and have a forked tail. While you can pick up a millipede, I wouldn't pick up a centipede.
Matt I agree. When ever I am on the road for work I f I have time I stay off the freeway.
The difference is in the name, a millipede has many more legs.
A centipede has one pair of legs per body segment. A millipede has two pair of legs per body segment.
Also centipedes are carnivorous, eating mainly insects. Millipedes are herbivorous eating decomposing plants.
*Antennae but yeah I try to stay away from centipedes. 😅
This was one of Matt's best videos, and hats off to the dude who helped Matt gather his rigging.
Traveling on the old state roads are really much more interesting than the freeways, but in the winter the hazards out weigh the beauty, learnd that the hard way myself.

Incredible recovery. Matt is in way better shape than people think. Great job.
How many thousands of dollars was lost on this job?
Ok Rhett…. They’re gunnin’ for ya. So let’s establish some protocols. Matt has to decide what equipment he wants on that rig. Not you, not Kaulin and certainly not peanut. Have him write down what and WHERE he wants it, to include T-shirt sizes. Come up with an inventory sheet with location. As soon as that rig returns to the yard after a job replace and reorganize everything and indicate the day you did it. NO ONE is to remove anything from the rig while on the yard without telling you they’ve done so. (See what happened there? You’re in charge😁). It might be a good idea to check it daily because someone is going to remove something while on the yard. You’re the heavy wrecker rig boss!!! Good luck my dude!
Yup, same way we do fire trucks, a list of everything, how many of them and where they live. Every day and after every job it gets checked and replenished. We list EVERYTHING right down to the pens in the glovebox.
Agree 100%. In the military, people take anything that isn't nailed down and then they carry claw hammers with them to help with the nails.
Inventory what the boss tells you to have and then check it daily.
I would say weld on some padlock hasps to lock things up but then someone would forget the keys...

Another amazing recovery! Wow, that dude got lucky! I drove off a cliff once in So. Cal. Same deal. I nosed over and luckily didn't roll. Drove the truck out of the ravine the next morning. Was insane! Great work y'all!
At 29:27 Matt pauses because he knows that a 'farmer with a welder' and a 'tow truck guy with a welder' share many of the same qualities! 😆
The only people that could have found it was the one that you showed you tried to get him to work for you. It wasn't the farmer❤
interested people are interesting! Centipedes have one pair of legs per body segment, while millipedes have two pairs per segment. The number of legs varies by species, but centipedes typically have between 15 and 191 pairs, while millipedes typically have between 40 and 400 pairs.
Centipede legs are prominent and stick out from the sides of the body, while millipede legs are tucked under the body and are harder to see.
Centipedes have a flattened body, while millipedes are more rounded.
Centipedes move quickly, while millipedes move slowly, just wanted to touch on that.
AND COLLIN FOUND A MILLIPEDE
Interesting indeed
A wealth of information so I'm guessing the round one
Here's a little advice... not that you don't already know this most likely. Next time you have to pull out a vehicle that has a broken control arm, or any other similar kind of damage, just thread a Ratchet Strap through the damaged rim, and then do the same thing around the other side. When you start to ratchet that strap up tight, it should begin to straiten up that broken tire until it matches up with the other side. Just take it slow, and be careful not to tighten it so much that it breaks the other side as well. So now that you have a set of strait tires, it going to make it a heck of a lot easier to pull a vehicle out. This is my first time watching any of your content. So far I like what I see, and you definitely now have a new subscriber. Great stuff guys, keep it coming!
This is the job that shows the old man put a lot of foresight into building that rig.
That's one tough rig
Long story short, my 4 year old granddaughter rode my RZR 250 ft down a mountainside in Colorado (she was fine, just bumps and bruises). It happened at 1:30 PM on a Saturday. We went back at 9:00 AM the next day. It had ben ransacked and the winch stolen already.
Probably all posted for sale on Marketplace that same day at a great price…no questions asked.
These are the technical recovers that brought me to the MORR TEAM in the first place. I know you can't have one every day, but man, do I enjoy them when they happen.
Thank you.
😘😘😘😘💖💖💕💕😍😍❤❤
I've seen plenty enough of "fail" videos to appreciate how well-done this was. Kudos to ya'lls patience and diligence. Though might I suggest anyone in rock-slinging distance of the cable wear safety glasses? 😄
Wow! Just wow! That was a grueling recovery. Matt and Kaulin’s perseverance was something I admire.
Another great job MORR!👍👏🙌
I was so into this recovery. I barely noticed it was an hour long video. Great video guys keep it up.
Matt, what is needed is a “ MORR must not forget bag” filled with stuff that seems to be forgotten. Such as Radios and stuff 😉 Glad you completed the task 👍
A clipboard in the cab with a checklist and the initials of whoever inspected the vehicle.....But, that takes all the fun and drama out of the job....lol
I really appreciate your tenacity and skill in doing a job that none of the other pros would touch. I learned quite a bit watching this and I've hauled a few jeeps and trucks up and out of tough places myself. A couple of times, I've used a hand-cranked boat winch, which did its work, although others standing around said it wouldn't. A few times, there were no trees, so I had to use a crowbar, pounded in with an ax, as a deadman. I'll be watching some more of these.
WOWWOWOWOWOWO! Incredible symmetry, patience, knowledge, skill & AWESOME Matt & Kaulin team with super video & editing & ABOVE ALL SPIRIT!!
What an incredible recovery! It's a testament to Matt's reputation that they were called in to perform that long distance job. I can't help but wonder, was the cost of the recovery justified when compared to the repair cost or scrap value of the truck?
Exactly what I was thinking.
Same here. Driving all that way with a crew of several people taking what . . . 3 days? My only thought was that, somehow, the owners needed to remove the truck so as not to abandon it on someone else's land -- or public land. ???
@southerner66 bingo. They're somewhere around the Capay Valley, Yolo County, best I can tell. Lots of state fish and wildlife land and a national monument to be careful of in the steep ridges north of Lake Berryessa. (PS I figure they drove until late before stopping at the Kings Inn.)
@@southerner66 yes, you must remove or the managing agency will charge a fine plus cost of recovery. I am guessing Matt does this at a loss for content.
I know Matt will use a sliding scale on cost for recovery for some jobs. I think if he makes a video out of the recovery he might give them a break on the cost. Just a feeling, Matt is a good dude and probably knew these people did not have a lot of resources.
Great job guys and your impromptu secondary support team of helpers were also great. You got-em out you earned it and hats off to you all:)
This was a great one, really enjoyed it. Great to see you having a good time, going as slow as you need to, course correcting, mistakes happening, adjusting, patience and getting help and finally food. Hooray!
It looked like there was a spare tire in the bed of the truck. Wouldn't it be easier to swap out the front right tire off the rim before pulling it up the hill? Great job on the recovery! That was a hard job.
That's what I thought. We we don't know if the ball joint or control arms were damaged.
Spare tire could be flat not have rim on it could also they dont have locking tool for lug nuts or where it was at
I agree with you Matt. Two lane blacktop back roads are the best and most fun to drive.
How about making an equipment check list for each vehicle that needs to be thoroughly inspected and signed off on, BEFORE each recovery trip!
Either that or have each recovery vehicle contain its own complete equipment contents, including communication head phones.
18:53 - This truck’s durability is next level. So impressive!
Yes cost 300$ or 500$ in this situation need BIGGER DRONE RECOVERY YELLOW COLOR 💛
Watching the frustration, love and patience of a father teaching his son after years of his son being the gofer brings back so many good memories of working with my grandfather as a youngin and getting yelled at for various "simple" things I should've known hahaha. I'm not much older then Collin I believe (im 27) but its still enough years older that Its funny to see from an outside perspective.
Awesome job Matt and I don't mean getting the truck retrieved.
I reckon the thieves had inside knowledge of where the truck was parked. Out of curiosity why did you not put one of those spare tires on the truck or carry a battery down from one of the guys so you could start the truck to help ? Just asking. Great job all the same. Rhett needs a new list to include the radios and more shirts. Thanks for sharing. ATB regards from the UK
That is the exact thing I was screaming at the screen
Yer two. Go to bed please, you are drunks.
Was wondering the same, why not install the spare or battery? Not questioning Matt's judgement at all, just wanting to understand the reasoning.
@ I figured it out at the end why they didn’t grab the battery from the owners other truck. The recovered truck was a 7.3 diesel and would take two batteries to start it.
@@mikeb.7183they'll start with one battery if you disconnect the GP relay and turn off all accessories. 50⁰ is warm enough it'll start fine without the glow plugs anyway.
This is assuming the one battery you have is of good quality, condition, and the engine is healthy.
To clarify, these are 12v systems.
This rescue is so more complicated than anyone expected and they are being true masters of their craft.
You guys are committed. 8 hr drive to help this person out that I'm sure know one else would without charging them 3 to 5 grand to do it. You a great group of people to do what you do!
That's still a grand 😊
@moonshinershonor202 I didn't even think about how much it cost for them to go back and forth and all the cost with that! Dam!
They don’t do it for free. They charge!
@@19Silver67 It adds up fast. That diner meal, $30 right then and there.
@bobtahoma I really think they do charge. I've been watching for about 3 yrs now and they don't charge. They just use TH-cam views to pay for it. They even give out free shirts, too.
Millipede Kaulin, you were right first time.
Millipedes are round, almost cylindrical with legs out the bottom, and often curl up defensively. Many (all? I'm not sure) use a bad smell to defend themselves.
Centipedes are nearly flat, chunky legs out the side, and a pair of big legs at one end which resemble their big grasping feeler things at the other end.
Many centipedes bite, instead of using a bad smell like Millipedes.
Hope this helps!
This was the type of job that got me hooked on this channel years ago🤙👊 Nice job boys!
Great job guys. I'm not sure who the cameraman was on this job but he did great as well.
IMPRESSIVE!! THE WRECKER showed us its other set of abilities. And Matt's rope/rigging/short-shackle management was confusing glorious!!
Man, I've gone through those checkpoints without chains. The incline is rough, and the road has sorts that don't see daylight to melt the ice. I'm a professional driver, and it's sketchy, to say the least.
Edge of the World Highway is a once in a lifetime experience. And by that, I mean, you only want to do it one time.
Matt's zen in a seemingly impossible situation is unmatched.
Reminds me of my dad, real utah people.
Compliments to the recovery team !!!! nobody could have done it !!!!
MORR are the best !!!!
That tree Matt is tying off on is a LOT better than the scrub brush that they usually use.
“We’ll get it. I ain’t scared”…. man, to hear your dad say something like that. so powerful.
Kaulin "you litterly dodged a ROCK. well not so much but you were LUCKY you could have lost an eye, so I got to say this "MISSED ME BY THAT MUCH" your a brave MAN, Kaulin, WELL DONE EVERYONE, just say'n!
This truck from Hatanaka Farms Capay, CA the owner has a VERY interesting life story WWII vet & entrepreneurs!
I’d love to get the story I’m the owner of the truck right now
This was an incredible recovery! You definitely know and use all of your resources effectively! I have watched a lot of “Highway Thru Hell”, and they usually have their heavy duty wreckers with mega winch capacity, but you wouldn’t take a second to them at all! Also, it’s awesome to see how patient and respectful you are with your son and others around you. I really appreciate and enjoy watching your episodes
!!
Colin's driving is a concern, he is so relaxed, the one hand flapping and lack of concentration, shows he has been driving too long without a break or is rather tired, if something went wrong he would most likely not be able to catch it in time. please take more breaks on such trips. love the videos. (Retired professional heavy driver)
The ability to capture all this action with good quality video that captures the intensity of the job at hand never ceases to amaze me. - I wonder how many times Dylan went up & down that cliff! Another great MORR video.
That's a job worthy of the world's biggest off-road wrecker. Amazing work guys, hi from the UK
So call Heavy D then?
Sorry Matt
@TetraHydroCannabinolTHC Heavy D must be busy buying storage places :)
It's so nice to have a son that thinks like you and knows what you want to do.
We are constantly inundated with the do-nothing talkers and takers who always get the accolades in this country. It's so refreshing to see the backbone of America and the true heroes in action. It re-instills my faith in our country.
It always amazes me howuch time and effort thieves will put into stealing things. To find that truck, come back with tools, then haul it all up that steep hill .... I wish the guys on my crew worked half that hard!!!
