    I've had the Magnaflow on my '13 JK 6MT 2 door HT for a year now and I'm very happy with it. It's one of my favorite and easiest mods I've done so far. My Wrangler was bone stock when I bought it. I wanted to do a bit of a mild '70s retro Jeep theme with it, which is why I chose a 2 door stick. Having gotten it the way I wanted equipment and looks-wise, it needed the sound to match. It was just too quiet and mild mannered. I wanted some bass rumble and grumble without it being raspy or obnoxiously loud or droney, something that sounded plausibly V8. I did a ton of research before choosing the Magnaflow, and I'm very satisfied with it. It looks high quality and the sound is what I was looking for, giving the Jeep a little audible attitude to match the retro vibe. I like that it's an easy bolt-on upgrade that can be easily changed or reversed back to OEM in the future if needed.

    I installed a Rough Country dual outlet polished stainless steel muffler on many Wranglers, including my own. The fit, finish, and welds are flawless. It has polished stainless steel welded on tips similar to the MagnaFlow muffler shown in this video, except it has the RC logo stamped in them. The sound is very similar with no droning. Here's the kicker. I paid around $300 for the Rough Country muffler, delivered! Well worth the money. Everyone, including myself, are very happy with the Rough Country muffler.

      Hey I'm thinking about getting a Rough Country dual outlet too, how's it holding up after a year?

    • @dingznthingz

      @frsh_Cactus Still like new. I bought the muffler for around $300 brand new a few years ago. They became popular and the price practically doubled. There are no signs of discoloration or corrosion. It has a low rumbling noise when cruising. It sounds real good.

    As much as i love my flow master super 10 i wish i researched to get the side to center inlet/outlet so i could tuck it up in front. In the moment i dont have a muffler on and its nicer compaired to stock but my super 10 is amazing. As a warning the flowmaster super 10 is LOUD both in and out of the jeep.

    I own a jeep Sahara now finally. And i was told that you should only put duals on a V-8 and that info came from the gentlemen who owns the local muffler shop. He would have love to taken my money but he did let me know that the 6 cylinder could possibly sound weird no matter what system you pick . I will stick with my stock exhaust.

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He might have been saying that out of preference, in all honesty. Plenty of four-cylinder vehicles and six-cylinders run exhausts that have a dual exit without issues. As for the sound, a V6 is NEVER going to sound like a V8. But you can definitely have a deep and throaty exhaust note come out of your Jeep. You can do whatever you'd like, but don't feel that just because your Jeep doesn't have a V8 that it can't have an exhaust system. 😀 -Zach

      It’s aesthetics…I have factory dual cat back on our 01 SS Monte (3.8 ltr v6) & a stock single exhaust on our 87 SS ElCamino(5.0 v8) weird but what Chevy installed.

  • @d2mini
    @d2mini 6 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    Dual outlet exhausts look weird on a Jeep and are not a good choice for off road. I went with the AFE Power Mach Force axle back. Tucks up high and the tip is hidden. It's also a very tame exhaust with zero drone, around town or on the freeway. Just a deeper growl when you get on the gas. How it should have come from the factory.

    I have some form of Flowmaster exhaust, and I personally think it is too loud. It also has a drone at a certain rpm. It really is okay with the hard top on and glass back window shut, but other than that and is just too loud. I still want the look, and after watching this video I think I might look more into changing out the resonator to try to get it quieter first.

    Is it for a jeep wrangler JK SPORT DIESEL? What are the benefits besides aesthetics?

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      These axle-backs are made specifically for the 3.6L V6 gas engine model Wranglers. I'm not too sure if it would fit on the diesel equipped models. That being said, axle-back systems are mainly there for increased exhaust volume and aesthetic. There is a slight increase in exhaust flow, but it will not be enough to see large gains in horsepower to the wheel. -Zach

    so hard to watch. i just wanted to hear different exhaust sounds on the wrangler but listening to this guy talk is so hard to do cause almost every sentence he says tapers off and gets much much quieter as he talks. i cant even hear nor understand the last 2 or 3 words of everything he says. should've added a compressor in post. would've gotten rid of the dynamics in the vocal audio making all his words the same volume.

    I bought a Magnaflow axle back for my JK and it was poorly made! The exhaust tips pointed downwards and not leveled straight out as shown on their website. This was due to the welder not setting the hardware properly on the welding jig before weldintg and it looks like a hack job. They will not warranty their own poor workmanship!
