Great explanation of all those features. I have a legend also and am always playing around with these settings too. Every spot needs to be tuned and the out-of-the-box legend is a great foundation. Then fine-tuning to get those tricky signals does help.
Exactly my point. I find myself doing a factory reset every now and then just to start it again at its basics. Then I tune it to where I'm at. Thanks for watching.
@@TheMedicalDetectorist Hey MD, thanks! Agreed 1.17 seems to be pretty solid. I've noticed it's picking up every little piece of metal that seemingly wasn't there before the update...guess I'll have to tweak these settings. Thanks for checking it out
@@ArcanZA thanks for checking it out. And agreed. When I first started I always found it difficult to obtain accurate information on the legend so I'm just trying to fill that void. HH
@@TeamLynchBMD if I'm being honest, I'm not sure what I am lol. I usually just run it in pitch tone I feel it helps me grab signals and get an idea of size. For these settings, I usually just toy with the recovery speed itself to maximize depth but stock settings haven't done me wrong for the most part. Thanks as always for watching hope all is well.
Hey Cavalry, thanks for subbing! So I just updated to 1.17 but haven't made a video on it since our grounds are bone dry. I noticed an improvement in the pinpoint feature and overall a better grab on signals in areas I thought we're done. The real test will come at my honey hole once I'm able to actually dig over there! Thanks again for your sub I'll be sure to throw one your way. Look forward to checking out your channel
Hey great vid!! Well explained. Great job. I love my legend and spent a bit of time on the beaches. However I get a near constant vdi of 10 when in shallow salt water when running Beach, mw, and everything else default. No sounds, only a vdi flash of 10. Any ideas? Thanks and keep the great info coming!
@@MerrylBustin Hey Merryl, thanks! Most of my time is spent at the beaches but mostly in very shallow waters. I usually have to drop sensitivity a good bit and it seemed that Increasing my recovery speed helped. I will say all beaches are different there are some in my area the chatter is constant. Hope this helps
Great explanation👍👊👏🏻 I have a question, If I want to find micro gold VDI 11 or less on the beach,Is it better to set it to all metal R or beter C? What do you think? Greetings from Belgium.
@@westcoast2060 hey West Coast. Fine gold, specifically small necklaces are pretty hard to get a signal on regardless of what I've done with settings. I would think running in all metal and M2 or a high single frequency, lower the tone break for iron so the signal sounds desirable, and ive found to have more luck using pitch when trying to find those low of tones.
Great instruction
@@barrystrawford3133 Thanks, Barry. Glad these are of help to you
That was useful. I often only find those settings by accident, and never know what to do with them.
@@AndrexT lol. Glad it was a good one!

I saved it to refer back to. Videos are far better than the manual.
Awesome explanation. Thank you for your video

Nice review, thanks! I just recently updated from 1.11 to 1.17 and redid some settings. Will have a video out soon with the update. Like it so far…

Great video mate. Needed this. Very few detectorist s goes into such detail of their settings.

Nice job, I run a little differently as I am more of a tones hunter. I am really liking 1.17 Keep up the great videos 👍👋

@ I often start on stock settings and move from there. I also like pitch tones especially at the beach. 👋
@@TeamLynchBMD couldn't agree more. Helps me avoid those damn beer cans buried everywhere. Lol
Brilliant thanks
