    I try to avoid those numbers if I am at the parks. I'll take the chance and pass unless the tone is good, clear and the VDI's are close to each other. M3 better VDI numbers and my BC is at 5, SE 4 and IF 4. Have to remember that fake jewelry will ring in the 30's to me plus I'll switch to Beach setting to see if it has good tone. The 30's Tone Frequency on my Legend is low (1-30) 15 and also lower my tone volume as well. Once you have that prime setting, I save it on one of the profiles. I have a Pitch, 4 tone, 6 tone profiles and also Coin Shooter setting with nothing but 42 and above. Good intel video on the Legend, becomes Bad to the Bad once you learn it!!

    There are two things I would recommend doing, I would first ground balance the machine. The next I would turn the auto ground balancing on.
    Sometimes the instructions get confusing. I am no expert on this machine.I am just learning like you are.
    Jersey diggs on youtube has some excellent explanation of settings videos.

      @@JoyofTreasureHunting I hope so. My brother has some property where there was an old (maybe 30's) that burned down and it full of nails ets. I'm hoping that this will help me filter through all the trash and find something. My Sister-in-law lost a few rings that I'm also trying to find around the same area. I'm hoping THE LEGEND will do the trick.

    You last video where you only tweaked in the high tones, and rdoggs 50 pulltab challenge has inspired me to do the 50 pulltab challenge with only 26-33 tweaked in on the legend
    You should do the 50 pulltab challenge im telling all the youtubers to do it, you just only dig pulltab signals, 50 of them, and see what if any jewlery you find, just something fun to do
    Todsy i tested a bunch of pulltabs and the came in around 26-33, but not every sigle number between those two, i think 27 was most common if i recall correctly
    Oh and the only gold ring i have reads in those numbers loud and clear

      @JoyofTreasureHunting  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@annetteessman8827 there are a couple of ways, but perhaps the easiest to learn is to find an area of the soil (maybe 3 ft around or so) that has no metal items below it at all by swinging over it a few times in "all metal mode" and seeing if you hear the detector finding any. If no metal there, hold the ground balance button down which is all the way to the right on the keypad, and move the coil up and down about 6 inches off the ground about 6 times, then release the button and you're good to go.

    @lovetheprophets 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    How do you know that the items are shallow vs deep? My first time treasure hunting with the Legend I had a consistent 35 VDI and after digging 12-16” I couldn’t find it. I know it was still there because I am still getting the same reading, but I dug so much I reached the water barrier. I just gave up and put all the dirt back.

    • @JoyofTreasureHunting
      @JoyofTreasureHunting  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The bars to the right of the big numbers in the middle are supposed to give a feel for how deep the item is. More bars means more depth, but they base this off of a coin size object. So if there is one bar on that scale and it's a coin it will be near surface, but if all bars are lit up and it's a coin size object it's supposed to be deep. The bigger the object is than a coin, the more bars it seems to fill so it's not a great indicator in all cases. The detector is good, but not really picking up stuff deeper than about 12 inches from surface (unless it's like a buried car), so once you dig a hole under where you got the signal, use a pinpointer to then find the item and that will keep you from digging to china. Been there.

    I would be careful with self discriminating the 90 degree non-repeatable with the Legend. I came to the legend from a Vanquish and I'm getting way to many good targets that are only repeatable one way. Even with quarters that are shallow, 2-3 inches and flat. I'm running 1.11 though.

    • @billbarry2984
      @billbarry2984 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Are you saying that 1.11 Is not as good? The reason I'm asking is that I just bought the legend with the LG30 coil and carbon fiber shat with the 1.11 update already installed.

    • @bobulele
      @bobulele 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@billbarry2984 not sure yet, I've only had it 5 weeks and I'm hunting some of the same ground that I hunted with the Vanquish 440. So it is likely that I'm getting targets that the Vanquish missed, but a lot of them in crowded trashy areas are just barely giving me signals. I've started digging the signals that I'm not getting repeatable 90 degrees from each other and there are legitimate targets there. Not sure of the reason yet, but I have heavily mineralized soil.
      Other than that, I'm super happy with the Legend. I think the vanquish is its equal in park coin shooting but I've found so much jewelry with the Legend. 15 rings in 5 weeks, equal to the previous 7 months of metal detecting with the vanquish. I just started last May.
