    Lonzo having a C+ at best right now but he will be an A type player in the future he has so many unteachable things he does you can tell his IQ is insane for his age an 10,7,7 for a rookie aint no damn D if that was any other rookie people would give him at least the a C

    • @popcrnshower
      @popcrnshower 6 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      everyone was comparing Lebron to MJ since he was in high school...it comes with the territory when people are calling someone a "transcendent" player

    • @nathanbunyon7642
      @nathanbunyon7642 6 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      nba 2kking lebrons rookie season had way more pressure placed on it and he was infinitely better as a rookie on a worse team. You can’t say (skip says) “he has had the highest degree of difficulty” when bron literally was called the chosen one from the very being. If bron in his rookie year played like Lonzo has played it would have been called an F.

    • @vintagemonte
      @vintagemonte 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @xblthatguy7175 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      ^ This. It's seriously ridiculous people will point out players and say "They impact the game in other ways besides scoring" not only is he getting 7 rebs and 7 asts, he has 1.5 steals and nearly a block a game. The shooting will improve. This is his first season. This is coming from a Celtics fan. Give the kid another year or so. He'll be fine.

  • @LoveMusicVideoArt
    @LoveMusicVideoArt 6 ปีที่แล้ว +45

    Y’all are crazy thinking people hating! He’s the no.2 pick in the national basketball association! He’s SUPPOSED to be playing better. That’s just simple facts. Then you compare him to other one-and-done rookies and he’s still not playing how he should be. Stay calm and watch him grow if you think he WILL be Magic Johnson, but y’all need to calm it with the fake news attitudes ☺️

      What's the first pick doing?

    • @IEQZE
      @IEQZE 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maq IS he's forced too grow up fast in Boston. LA ain't doing nothing, ain't making the post season. So he's been playing on a higher level, better team higher stakes. Lay off Tatum

    • @BDFfortyfour
      @BDFfortyfour 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LoveMusicVideoArt False. If you're drafting players for just one year then yes your argument makes sense. But that's not what teams are drafting for. It's about the upside of a player. Being picked second doesn't mean that a player should be expected to play well out the gate. Conditioning, off the court adjustments, team role and alot of other things play into how a rookie looks out there. It takes time!

    C- full of injury and inconsistencies but not bad enough for a D.

    • @SwiperNoSwiping458
      @SwiperNoSwiping458 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      MURRAY RHYMES WITH CURRY Yeah D is a bit harsh but he's been far from great. He has no midrange game and only has floaters and 3pt shot (which he shoots 30% from) in his scoring arsenal. He plays with little aggression, his off the ball movement is TERRIBLE (he just stands in the corner). And yeah when you FT% is lower than most centers that doesn't help either.

Lonzo Ball fans be like: He the youngest player in the NBA to have the highest defensive efficiency rating out anybody drafted on Tuesday as the #2 or #7 pick in the last 13 seasons. He's decent though. Easily top 40 PG in the NBA

    People talk about lonzo rebounds but with the way the NBA is structured now any one can get rebounds. If it were not for his father with his numbers we wouldn't be talking about lonzo. But it's not fair to condemn him because not every players blossoms at the same rate. Look at who coached him up and we all know his daddy is more business man that coach but kudos to him.

How can Shannon expect a 20 year old to lead the youngest team in the league to a lot of wins in the Western Conference? If it wasn’t for Lavar, Lonzo wouldn’t be getting all this hate, it ain’t fair

    All in all a pretty good rookie year obviously could be better. Hopefully improves those percentages in the second half of the season and stays healthy.

    The kid just turned 20 years old, 2nd pick overall playing for his hometown Lakers, the most storied franchise in basketball. That combined with the constant media pressure, his dad's antics, and all the other family issues he's had, this kid STILL averages 10 points, leads his team in assists and rebounds, and no matter who you ask is already one of the better (best?) passing point guards in the league. All this criticism is becoming pathetic.

    the problem is, if you're a pass-first guy like a nash or stockton, in order for that to work people have to fear your shot. if they're perfectly happy to let you shoot the ball, it makes stopping your playmaking much easier.

    Lol “you look at shaq, you look at Jordan with the third pick in the draft” the guys mentioning all time greats and only listed 2 guys and the list stopped. 10, 7 & 7 first season is pretty solid. I thought he was gonna be a rondo type player and that’s exactly how he’s been playing, if he stays at that level he’ll have a solid nba career as a starting pg. he’s a point guard, what’s he expecting from him? 20+ ppg? That’s his game? Assists, triple doubles, play making and if you can get over 15 ppg from him than it’s a bonus. How are you gonna compare him to Jordan or shaq when those guys biggest strength were ppg and scoring. Sharpes an idiot

    • @iRuckiz
      @iRuckiz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      its not about him being 10-7-7, thats alright but its being outweighed by the fact that hes a point guard who can't put the ball in the basket. Literally the worst shooter in the nba and how does a PG have worse FT% than shaq. When your starting point guard has to be subbed out of 4th quarters because hes an offensive liability you know you have an issue.

  • @Reyfox1

    I think Lonzo will be ok. Lots of pressure on him because of his father's rants how great he is. He is under the media microscope. He sneezes wrong, it's news. My only complaint is his free throw shooting. That's something that he should be way better at.

    To answer your question Skip: LeBron was took his talents to South Beach because after 7 years in CLE and giving his absolute everything and making them a relevant contender all by himself, Dan Gilbert would not get LeBron even one single co-star while Bron was having to constantly battle 2 stars and Big 3’s.

  • @lavarball61

    Lonzo is a good rookie and will be just fine. It's just that this draft class is really talented and other rookies just adjust quicker. You need to physically watch the games to see this kids point guard and passing potential and he husltes on rebounds. For once agree with skip. 10/7/7 B- is good enough for now.

  • @centrallifestyle3650

    Once the season is over, the next stage of his career truly begins. He needs to get various expert trainers to come and help him reconstruct his shooting form and jump-shot, strengthen his entire body, improve his cardio and energy, tighten his handles, develop hesitation moves, and work like mad on improving his athleticism and explosion. Also needs to make his arms and legs really much stronger. Also needs to improve his left hand/arm. He’s got his work cut out.

  • @plainsimple244
    @plainsimple244 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    His rookie year isn't over. He's been hurt. All you want is for him to command the offense, regardless of his feelings of a coach. If he wants everything based upon his way as a rookie, he's going to have to get over that, unless he has 100% word from Magic Johnson on how this thing will go. We'll see what they do with Luke Walton in the off season but Lonzo just needs to get healthy, command the offense, learn how to win games, and enable his team as an asset not a liability. His grade is a D+ so far.
