I am old enough to watch KG. Kg had to go to Boston at the time to get the chip. Shannon was absolutely right on every point. Lebron went to the finals in 2007, 5 years after he was drafted with the same team.
Kg took him 12 years after he was drafted to the get to the finals and he had to force A trade just to get to the finals.

Lastly, no one in their right minds honestly believes that LeBron would've gone to the Finals by himself in the West. Not with Kobe/Shaq, Dirk/Finley, Nash/Stoudamire, Tim/Tony/Manu, Webb/Peja, R.
