This is arguably way beyond vlos, better to post clips rather than full flights, you can argue that you moved position between shots. Hard to claim that on this video.

@@lifeafter50withmanx It's actually quite funny! Every time you ask, there's snow. Yesterday, it snowed a good bit, and today there's a fine layer of snow, although no snow falling from the sky.

    "Kermit'! 🐸 Nice one. 👍
Yeah always a giod idea to quickly run through settings to make sure everything is setup how you want before flying.
    Especially after an update.
RTH settings like Hover, Return or Land each have their own individual benefits but most of the time you want it to return on lost signal.
Also worth checking the RTH altitude is set to clear the highest thing in your flight area, most of the time that is tree tops, don't set it too high as the last thing you want is to climb unnecessarily high especislly in windy conditions or a low battery situation.
Another tip is keep an eye on your bartery level, always make sure you have enough to get back⚠️😲
I typically aim to get back before the low battery warning starts bleeping, that way you have a good safety margin!
I've seen a lot of pilots lose their Mini drone simply because they run it down to zero % and don't make it back.

Lots of good tips/advice, thank you. Always conscious of battery level as paranoid it won't make it back and I'll lose it.
I checked my altitude level and upped it slightly. Failsafe is definitely RTH for me. Need to get out to more places and try different things 🙃

If you are on a boat it should be on hoover but other than that RTH everytime and just always per flight to your surroundings

Thanks for sharing and a good reminder to check these settings regularly. My return to home is set at 100 meters which covers most areas that I fly in. TBF as soon as it’s clicked in and signal has returned I’ll cancel RTH and fly manually, reducing the height immediately if safe to do so. It’s a great feature if you lose signal or orientation.

You need to adjust the rate of the gimble for smoother video enchantment. This will improve overall video smoothness. The slower the better.

Check always before flying drone must calibrate always the compass or update always compass calibration so that if any sign of interruption between your drone and rc controller, and check the gps signal and last dont fly away to much your line of sight.enjoy❤❤

So it always comes back when signal is lost... can I ask how far you got before signal was lost?

Great video! and is nice the RTH works perfectly. I have lost RC signal twice with the Air 3 which I got instead of the Mini 4, since I already own the Mini 3 Pro. After getting my licence I got this one.

I would suggest getting a CPL filter/lens cover. The built in one is soft and some sort of protection is advisable. CPL is polarized so on any sunny days you have it will cut down on the glare from reflective surfaces/water, meanwhile on cloudy days it will protect without darkening visuals. They are generally inexpensive, 13-14 pounds.
You could also go with a ND16 for sunny days, but it might be too dark if it's as cloudy as your last few flights. Spend once, heh, that's my policy. We have mostly sunny days here, so I got the ND16.

Ahh...I think I have a lens filter but we've not had enough sun to try it out yet. Thank you for the advice.....spending quite a bit on bits n bobs

Happened to me too at only 1600m of distance. Drone was in line of sight. Was very grateful for the RTH mode as my RC 2 screen turned gray at that time.

Nice video but one thing I find weird is the range you should be able to go much farther I live in a area like yours in Canada I also got the same drone the mini 4 pro AND I LOVE IT !!! You should tri to make a time lapse of the construction site :) Have a great day wish I could do video montages like you do I got a toon of time lapse lol And PS sorry for my bad english typing I do tend to type like a cave men but I refuse to use google translate lolol

I think it may be lots of buildings and there was low cloud (?) Time lapse sounds good. Look into the montages, they're fun. I've a video coming out tomorrow that shows how I make my videos and what I use. I'm not the most techie of people but I've figured some of the basics and have ideas in my head what I want to do. 😊

We run CE mode, which is a limit strength of signal compared to FCC mode. I'm not sure if you are FCC in Canada or CE mode. Hope this explains the limited signal in open spaces it goes miles further 🤙

Another great video! Im not sure if you are aware, but you can dial in your settings in each mode cine mode, etc, and also, the gimbal smoothness has adjustments to. You will get there use youtube to see. I personally only dial in cine mode or normal as sports mode for myself is just to get it home quicker.
Regarding battery levels you will see the further you are the coloured arc around the batery % changes depending on movements etc. You can also click the battery % and it gives you in real time 3 battery situations and they all explain themselves. Hope this makes sense!
Ian from london does a great explanation of speed settings for each mode👍

Hi there!Just wanted to ask if it’s legal in England to fly like this from your garden above the houses?
    Thank you!

      @shadowbanned5164 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

I dont know about England but in New Zealand you cant fly over someones property without their consent or over people for that matter so you need to be careful where you fly......up high using the zoom function so they dont know your there.

    1. make sure your antennas are in the optimal position (the line RC to drone must be perpendicular to the antenna lenght)
    2. in an urbanised environment like your garden, buildings do interfere with the RC signal.
Let's assume the house behind yours is about 50yds away and stands 35 ft. The signal must travel higher than the building.
This ratio will have to be maintained over the distance. Considering the fly height is restricted to 400ft (35x11.5) the maximum distance to receive a good signal at that level will be 50yds x11.5 (556yds or 0.3miles)
    (correct me if I"m wrong ;-) )

    • @lifeafter50withmanx
      @lifeafter50withmanx  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

I believe you are correct (after I converted my max alt 119m to ft (400ft) and makes total sense. If I could sit on the roof that would be better signal 😁😂 Thank you for your comment, much appreciated....I'm such a rookie and learning.

Houses left over from the industrial revolution built for the workers, originally they would have looked all the same and neater but over time extensions, windows etc. have been added so that makes them look worse.
