    If the water tank level is not visible, you could try weighing the robot before and after a water fill up. Differences in weight equals to water gained or lost by the robot. Just make sure to consider any auto-emptying features of the dust pan as this may affect weight measurements.

    It seems weird you didnt consider the S7, as the mopping ability is identical to the S7 MaxV (no dock) as well as being VERY close with vacuuming capabilitirs, yet it can be had for pretty much half the price in most regions. It would honestly have been a great pick in most categories, and should’ve atleast been included for suggestion.

      the S6 max seems solid :)

    • @RubenKelevra
      @RubenKelevra 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@_TrueDesire_ if you have carpets get the S7 Max. If you have pets (and pet waste may be an issue) get a MaxV (S6 or S7).
      IMHO there's not that much difference between the S7 and the S6 in terms of cleaning ability. S6 do clean nearly perfectly, even dried stains if you add a little bit of cleaner and not straight water.
      I used chlorinated water (made at home by using electrolysis with salty water). It completely evaporates and is thus very environmental friendly.
      And just get a big bag of mops, like a dozend, as you just put them in the washing machine together with your kitchen rags etc. at 60°C.
      :)

    There is one more test you should do: the grout line test. In my house I have 1/16" grout lines between my tiles and frustratingly enough I have yet to find a robot able to properly clean them. Secondly you should also test how they handle not dried messes on your floor, for instance liquid grape juice might just be spread by the side brushes instead of being cleaned.

    I bought the s7 MaxV ultra after your recommendations (and after returning my iRobot j9 and their mop) and I am blown away with how great it is. My iRobot models took 3-4 weeks of daily mapping runs, me rearranging furniture, editing the maps, and soooo much effort, just to get it to MAP my house. Then, after a few months, the maps started to degrade (they say you need to re-map often 🤦🏻‍♀️). The Roborock mapped my entire house PERFECTLY in 15 MINUTES!!!!! No effort by me!

    Hi @vacuumwars, thanks for videos like these, it really helped me to choose my robot vacucum.
    As robot vacuums are bought not only to clean well, but for their convenience, I'd recommend adding couple more tests for them:
    1/ Loudness on moving, not cleaning => when spot cleaning on the other side of the house, how loud the robot is when getting there? There should be no cleaning on this movement, and still, Roborock, for example, is so loud.
    2/ Same case as before - moving a to spot, but this time, there is a patch of carpet in the way. Let's say it has to go through the room when it's stationed (hard floor), then another room with carpet, and after that there is the room where spot cleaning should occur, hard floor again. Some robots, when going over carpet, turn on high suction even when the mode is set to "mop only" or "no cleaning - only move to destionation spot", which is certainly not wanted.
    3/ How does the vaccum handle mirrors? Let's say you have mirror on wardobe doors. Full height - top to bottom. How does the vaccum handle it? Does it recognize it itself? Does it at least allow you to mark it in the app, similar to no-go zone? Do does it just map "room" behind the mirror?
    4/ App/API - does the API (or at least their app) show when was the last time you emptied dirty water? Does it show how much clean water is left? You know, when Roborock S7 tells you there is almost no water, it's too late to do anything with it. You are already out, and it's mid-cleaning and now it stops mopping because there is not enough water. It needs to tell you way before there is last 2 drops. The same with dirty water. It doesn't mater when the tank is half empty and is good to get water from 4 more cleaning. But when it sits there for a week, it will start to smell, so you'd need to se ethe time of last cleaning in the app/API.

  • @bruddaozzo
    @bruddaozzo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This is a video comparing mopping of the robots right.. So with the Dreame brand. Why did you choose the Z10 over the newer W10? The W10 is more of a focus on mopping, so looks to be more relevent to this test.
    I only own the Z10, not the W10 so have no idea how it actually performs. That said, i rarely ever use it to mop. Too much effort getting the mop attachment out, filling with water, etc etc. I havnt looked much into these newer vacs with auto water fill/empty and cleaning yet. But I dont think I see any 'leave the mop attachment in the dock when not mopping'. I think I've seen some that raise the mop up from the floor when not being used, but that can still potentially touch thick carpets and other things like that imo.
    Maybe a couple of years from now and they'll have that sorted plus a mop that comes even a little close to the effectiveness of hand mopping.

    Hello, thanks for the video. Helped narrow it down! Question for you....so I have an 18 month and lvp flooring on first floor and as you can imagine it's very hard to keep clean. So got the idea to get a vacuum and mop robot to help with this. So I can clean when we go to bed at night or out for the day. I thought about getting the roborock s5 max just because its about more affordable. However I'm just wondering now if I should really invest in the s7max v ultra? Like will it give me a lot more features and benefits that will I love as a mom? Or is the s5 absolutely capable and fine? Thanks

    I think the Roborock G10S and S7MaxV, but G10S has even more features like video-camera, mop self-dry option and direct connection to water/sewage option. Unfortunately, currently only in China.

    Thanks for your videos, very in depth I've been watching them for a while now. Only problem I have is finding the right one for my house. I'm lost. Can you please recommend the best vac/mop combo with a dock, self cleaning and is really good for pet hair? We only have hardwood floors so doesn't matter about carpet functionality. Thank you

    Also need a good handheld vacuum

    you need a dreame W10 for a fair comparison of similar generation as S7maxv, X1 omni etc. Z10 is an older, much cheaper model compared to the top end very expensive ones

    This is a great vid, but I'm surprised you don't have the narwal t10 in here. It also mops and self cleans itself. From what I have seen it looks to be pretty darn good as well.

      Came here to say this too. We have it and would recommend, especially after recent app upgrades to divide rooms and set no-go zones to n your map. My one caution is its ability to sense stairs is not strong and you really need those magnetic keep it away from falls strips to be sure. Ours has completed rocketed downstairs but thankfully still works.

    I feel that the Omni uses way to little water too, the first meters are wet but after like 2-5 min in looks like it is dry mopping

    Will you be doing an Ilife A11 review? We currently have the A9 and A10, and are interested to see the newest model. Our A10 mops well enough, nothing spectacular, but it does have a vibrating mop, so it's better than not.

    White this is interesting and valuable, it would be very helpful to know how well these contraptions do in a real house where there are furniture without getting stuck. This is IMO very important for decision making.

  • @Nannan52
    @Nannan52 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’ve seen other reviews where the X1 Omni also performed poorly for mopping, so you aren’t the only one. Some of them thought it was because the manufacturer-supplied pads didn’t absorb water sufficiently to wet, nor sop it up from the floor, and found much better results with aftermarket pads. Since the X1 is supposed to wet it pads in the Omni Base station before running, I wonder if there was some kind of update to software or firmware that increased that wetting cycle, or perhaps dispenses more water to the pads in general while it’s running? It does seem like something has changed with pad wetting, because in this most recent review it does so well it that regard and not so much in your past review and in those from other sources. Sometimes microfiber isn’t very absorbent when it’s new either, so that could have something to do with it depending on how much the pads have been washed by the base or if you’ve washed them yourself.

    I have an X1 Omni and I have had some issues with water flow and Ecovacs has told me that newly designed disks are on the way to resolve this. I have been using it now for a few weeks and it works fine on even floors but the slightest change in the level and the water does not flow. I hope the new disc design resolves this issue.
