The 2022 F Sport comes with 21" Wheels while your 2023 RX comes with 19" Wheels. The standard RX 350 2022 comes with 18" wheels. Tires make a difference in noise in the car, handling, and comfort.
I think it is sad that the RX now only comes with a 4 cylinder. And that whining noise they make… The v6 was actually what made the rx stand out and the entire reason I bought the rx vs the nx. Now the entire rx line is generic to so many other brands, so the disappearance of the v6 actually led me to looking at other (German) brands. More tamagotchi than omotenashi… Less sound is not always better sound.
I drove both 2024 and 2022 before getting one. I could hear at cruising 55 to 60 mph the 4 cylinder is quieter, but it was louder when you pushed it and I mean pushed it. 1/2 way down the car was ok floor it and the 4 Cylinder was a l limp dead horse and it was loud.To me you can not take the NX 4 cylinder and stick it in the RX which is what they did. The NX is lighter than the RX even though the new RX is lighter than the old one. It is still heaver. After thinking hard about about it I went with a 2022 CPO V6. No Premium Fuel, Tried and true V6. Difference are so min but I could not stand that 4 Cylinder turbo and what issues might arise from it later down the road. Like the waste gate issue all have. Why take a chance when I could get one that really is great. Now as far as real gas mileage I get better gas mileage with the V6 than the V4 in all cars. from my test drives in all cars. NYC I get 12 to 17 real city traffic on the high way 33.3 yesterday Cruse control set to 55 to 60 mph. I drive very conservative just to let you know. I had a 2019 RDX A Spec before same poop horrible MPG in the City, really bad. 9 to 12. You explain it to me V6 heaver car and I get better MPG in real world driving.
Great surprise there, and good test data instead of just opinions. Thanks. Am very much into the new 2024 RX 350h and will get one in the next couple months.
I get that… the new 4 bangers are very smooth too. But there’s something about a v6 under your foot. I like the boaty experience of the older rx because it makes it a great cruiser. I have the RXL so direct comparison to the new rx wouldn’t be fair but I’d love to see the new tx in action too.
Thanks for watching! The RXL is a very smooth ride for sure! The added weight I always found made it ride a bit smoother than the regular RX! When the new TX Arrives I'll definitely be doing a video!
Ive had 2022 Fsport 3, Executive and Premier ( base ) RX’s ( Canada sells the RX in package not options like in the US ) The Fsport’s exhaust is louder than the Premier. And the premier is louder cabin than the Executive. In this video the two RX’s that were tested were not equivalent in my opinion, based on that the 2022 RX tested was an FSport. The loudest of all RX’s. Im not complaining, just an observation. In fact I really enjoyed this video, especially the ending. Thank you
Thanks for watching and for the feedback!! Sometimes I go back and forth with the comparisons and how strict I should be with package details etc. I'll definitely keep this in mind for the next one! Let me know if there's any other comparisons you think we should do!
This is a very misleading test. Drivers will rarely “floor” the gas pedal on their day-to-day driving. On a typical city drive, the new 4-cylinder powertrain is much more noisy than the previous 6-cylinder one. The transmission is also terrible at low speed in the 4-cylinder model. I owned 2018 RX-L and loved it. I wanted to go electric so got a RZ-450e, which I really like. I would never get a Lexus gas or hybrid with their current 4-cyl setup. If you want a good 4-cyl luxury car, buy an Audi (my wife owns and I love how drives). It is hard to believe that Lexus would make such a terrible change in their powertrain. Is Toyota going downhill?
Great test data but ultimately, it is how the driver feels while driving these vehicles. I find the new turbo 4 makes more whining noise and louder, maybe it is the higher pitch. It just sound that way to me compared to the V6.
Just dropped off my 2020 RX350l for service and drove back in a 2024 RX350. Except for the new fancy interior the car feels like a downgrade. One segment lower in luxury if that makes sense.
The V6 sounds so much better.
Great review, it is important to remember that 2020 - 22 Fsport has a sound generator. The engine is not technically louder than the new RX.

Great point! It does seem like wheel sizes are getting bigger and bigger! On RX as well as NX!

The V6 sounds so good 😩

As most other people, I like how quiet my RX is. The background music on these videos should reflect that instead of being turned up so loud.
Great feedback! Thank you for that! Our latest videos we took your recommendations and focused more on the cabin sound instead of background music!
@@PerformanceLexusNiagara Thank you for being so responsive. I have now subscribed.
Great comparison! Can you do 2023 RX350h versus previous gen RX450h ?❤
Thank you! I've added that to our list so I'm sure we can!!
Great surprise there, and good test data instead of just opinions. Thanks. Am very much into the new 2024 RX 350h and will get one in the next couple months.
Great choice and thanks for watching!!
Awesome video. My 2023 350h Executive is super quiet too!
Thanks for watching! Great choice on the RX 350H Exec!

Ugh… people who say “4 banger” 😑
I'd like to see similar measurements for the RX350h and RX450h+
Feel the noise from the ceiling panorama 2021 what is the reason😢
Keeping my v6 until lexus put it back or switch brand.

You can put regular gas in the V6.
this v6 sounds good seirously even with cvt

Yes you are definitely right! There's no measurement for how someone feels when driving! Thanks for watching!

What is 70 "K"??
Poor selection of comparison with an F Sport. This test needs to be done with the same trim. Lux with lux. Fsport with fsport.
He meant K as in Km/h
I’m still think between the RX and the TX. TX is a v4 that’s what I’m afraid off.
I'm definitely excited for the TX to arrive so I can check it out in person! Lexus predicts it will be our 3rd top seller next to the RX and NX!
They knew nobody would want to hear a buzzy 4 cylinder so they insultated the shit out of it.
Incorrect comparison! You should have selected a 22 luxury BUT NOT an F sport that is purposely made sportier and louder!
V6 over 4cylinder , all day every day
v6 sound sweet and seem faster too
Anything to make salespeople pretend they like the new front end and the sound of a 4 popper straining going uphills....
V6 all the way; the 4cyl is ok in the small UX and perhaps in the NX but never on the top notch SUV !!!
Why would you do google research on decibels to make a video and then start by saying I don’t remember what I read!
It’s a moot point because the 2023 model is uuuuuuuggggglllllllyyyyyy
subjective
My bedroom is way louder wink 😉
Mileages and engine oils must be different.
I almost bought a RX 350 but is way underpowered so a bought a LC. 500 and now we are talking 😂
WOW GREAT CHOICE ON THE LC!!
too gay for me. ain't he cute.
