      I too am still driving my ‘99 RX 300. It will attain 333,333 miles shortly. I plan on driving it until the engine or tranny fails. My RX 300 is silky smooth however it is using a bit of oil between oil changes. I keep a container of oil in the trunk and top the oil off when I buy gas. Long may she run! Bill B.

      @@ravipeiris4388every car over four years will start to incur costs. Even Toyotas and Lexuses will require tires, brakes, maybe suspension parts, exhaust, batteries, etc etc. My mother has a Camry. There’s always something that needs repair. The sun visors broke. The radiator. The alternator. Oxygen sensors. They’re not the cheapest cars.

    Hey guys love the video. As a owner of a 22 rx 450h, the paddles are useless but I found them useful for engine braking. Going downhill on a snowy day to a stop, you don't want to ride the brakes. So let it cruise downhill with the paddles in use for the engine braking.

    Great vid. QUESTION: I understand if you press the door handle twice, it will open mechanically, which makes sense. HOWEVER, if there's an accident, passengers can't open door and electricals are gone, is there a way for the emergency crew to open the door? Cuz if they can't, that is a MAJOR safety issue. Dealbreaker actually...none of this ridiculous form over function cuz there was NOTHING wrong with pulling a latch to open a door..

    • @kamest
      @kamest 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Owner here (I realize I'm a bit late with my reply). Actually you press once and it does the electric thing, as well as detecting cyclist or pedestrian coming from behind and keeping the door from opening in those situation. But THEN there's also the failsafe mechanical way of opening it by pulling twice on the thing. And that is completely independent of whether the car has power or not. I was worried about that too at first but even though it seems over engineered, I can assure you it works well and makes sense in the end.

  • @Yogi5D
    @Yogi5D ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The Mazda CX-70 and CX-90 is going to slaughter luxury SUV competitors they basically copied a BMW X5 with a straight six engine and 8 speed automatic for 30% less.The new Mazda 3.3L straight six diesel on the CX-60 in Europe (same as CX-70) gets 60mpg! Lexus needs to make their SUVs the same 3L straight six with 8speed automatic standard. 4cylinders make too much noise bc they lack torque over higher displacement.

  • @WScott-gd2mj
    @WScott-gd2mj ปีที่แล้ว

    Weirdly proportioned...the front end overhang is ENORMOUS. Maybe it's always been that way but this redesign seems to magnify it.
    But, the mpg (h model) is a huge point in its favor, esp vs the guzzling RDX.

  • @Mark-de4hj
    @Mark-de4hj ปีที่แล้ว +3

    One of the best looking and distinctive midsize SUVs on the road for sure! So glad Lexus decided to discontinue the mini-van like 3 rows!
    While other manufacturers are stupidly spinning their tails following each other trying to outdo with overkill horsepower while ignoring the fact of the environmental impact, Lexus has shown a continued commitment to a less is more approach with sustainable materials and quality reliability. Even though this is not the type of car that so-called car experts wax poetic about when it comes to prowess, its so refreshing to see you guys are mature enough to appreciate the mission of this vehicle. Great job once again guys!

    You really wasted your time. The new RX is one of the worst buys in the segment. Basing it off an economy car platform and dressing it up with lipstick and mascara doesn’t make it luxury. Combined with a mediocre interior, ugly exterior, cramped back seats, lackluster powertrains, pathetic performance and handling, lack of luxury features, gimmicky tech, comfort that isn’t better than others, refinement isn’t better than others, and it gets very expensive. Who cares about fuel economy? It’s a luxury car… 🤦‍♂️. You care about fuel economy? DONT BUY A LUXURY CAR. 😂 If you can afford a luxury car, you most certainly can afford the low fuel economy. Do you see x5 or gv80 or trackhawk owners whining about fuel economy like it’s the end of the world? No you don’t. Because it doesn’t matter. Do value about fuel economy as a luxury feature? Then the Prius and Camry hybrid are as luxurious as you can get. Plain and simple.
    The gv80 MDX aviator grand Cherokee summit x5 GLE Q7 xc90 telluride palisade Santa Fe calligraphy sorento prestige all rank much higher than this. Those are ACTUALLY competitive unlike this RX and it really shows both inside outside and behind the wheel.
