Great vid. QUESTION: I understand if you press the door handle twice, it will open mechanically, which makes sense. HOWEVER, if there's an accident, passengers can't open door and electricals are gone, is there a way for the emergency crew to open the door? Cuz if they can't, that is a MAJOR safety issue. Dealbreaker actually...none of this ridiculous form over function cuz there was NOTHING wrong with pulling a latch to open a door..
Owner here (I realize I'm a bit late with my reply). Actually you press once and it does the electric thing, as well as detecting cyclist or pedestrian coming from behind and keeping the door from opening in those situation. But THEN there's also the failsafe mechanical way of opening it by pulling twice on the thing. And that is completely independent of whether the car has power or not. I was worried about that too at first but even though it seems over engineered, I can assure you it works well and makes sense in the end.
