- Joe Longthorne performing the Don Black song If I Never Sing Another Song, one of his most requested numbers. The song was originally written for and performed by the late great Matt Monro, however it's now a widely held opinion that Joe has more than made the song his own. IF I NEVER SING ANOTHER SONG is such an amazing song.

There was something very special about Joe Longthorne. Magical performance.
I miss him so much. A great great vocalist with an enormous range. He was phenomenal, and I was extremely lucky to meet him and attend his concert.
So sad that he was blighted by chronic illness during most of his adult life. He was a fabulous entertainer of the type we never see now. Thanks for the music & laughs. Rest in peace Joe

Joe was a power house of talent and a very gracious man . A light has gone out in the world of show biz with the sad news of Joe's death. He battled cancer for 3 decades. You will be sadly missed by your legions of fans. God bless Joe. xx

Just in case u didn't know Joe passed away recently..I think had he not got ill..the whole world would have got to hear that amazing voice..it's very hard to sound good with cancer.

This was Joe's song, he totally owned it right back here on his own TV show right through the rest of his life. I had the absolute privilege of being so close to Joe for some years. I miss him. A very special man. This song, ahh, this song encapsulates him. x

An amazing talent, I had the privilege of seeing him live at The Buxton Opera House 6 weeks before he left us. He was obviously unwell but his voice was unbelievable. Such a sad loss to Britain and the world. R.I.P Joe ❤️🙏🏻

Genius, born in the wrong era but happily so for the benefit of myself and so many more that appreciate such a talent.
Why do you think he was born in the wrong era?
Who Dat Superbowl Queen he was born in the wrong era because he never really got the chance to be a mega star which he should have been....iv had the pleasure of watching him live quite a few times....unfortunatly he owed the tax man a lot of money bck in the 90s and it crippled his career.
Because in another era he would have been like elvis instead many people don't know his name and a talent like his and his dedication to music should have gave him more than it has.

My favourite song ever......and unquestionably, the greatest ever vocal performer delivering it. PURE CLASS.
With a singer the the likes of Joe compared to some we see on Television shows, why the hell isn't Jo up there in the charts, shows, TV ratings, Joe in my opinion as much as I loved the late Matt Monroe etc, Joe must be one of the most powerful singers around. Perhaps it's time he changed his agent/agency etc .
Joe's voice and his phrasing is superb, (NON BETTER) he should be on top of the world to me Joe is up there in the ratings along with Sinatra, Davis, & Martin, always will be, what a powerful voice in all departments.

A wonderful performance of this song. Joe's version is up there among the best, and he makes it look so effortless until right at the end when he is really going for it. The words will resonate very much for anyone who is, or has been a singer. The irony of course being that it would bother us very much to never sing another song.
