Lightening Force (Thunder force IV) was my very first 16bit game on my gen1 Genesis, the OST blew my mind back then coming from a Commador 64, I had no idea music that good was possible in a videogame.
Man after that most of the rest of the Genesis catalog had to be a serious let down

Please do Evil Destroyer next! It's one of the best boss themes and fits Thunder Force IV so well.
Best video game soundtrack ever made. Anyone in their 30s will agree. It's literally what got me into metal and shredding guitar. Especially at the end of stage 5 when you get "The Big Gun." That music changed and you knew it was about to get real.
Certainly the best written for a chip. It's a lot harder to do than people think it is, it's why the Genesis had mostly shit music, but if you knew how to program a driver and play music you can make that thing sing literally.
