This was the craziest video I have ever seen. I needed this, I've been struggling with rotation for the longest time, I end up over tilting my right shoulder backwards, it prevents my hips from turning properly and i swing "out" with a flip and end up hooking the ball. I'll have to try this. Brilliant video!

Total eye opener. Have worked on side bend and my path has gone >6 from inside out with low angle of attack, less rotation and shanks. With side bend had difficulty pushing off with my left leg. I then tried to lower my right hip through downswing which made strike totally chaotic. Saw your video and VOIALA I can use my left leg again. You are amazing!!

It's funny how things come to you when you need them. For the past couple weeks, I've finally figured out how to rotate the body. After years of trying to figure it out without a swing couch, I've got it...except for the one little problem, which you displayed in your video. I've become more consistant hitting the ball solid...a push fade, mind you. I couldn't think of how to fix it...and bam! Here's your video! Gonna try out those drills and start hitting some draws.

Interesting and quite controversial Stuart as usual. Everyone talks about side-bend and left hip up and back to catapult the club head or the boat pulling the skier around the bend. This in combination with the left shoulder going up and back as you open up the left side of the chest. Coming from you I will have to give this a lot of consideration because everything you teach makes so much sense.

A crucial component indeed ! Since I'm working on counter-balancing with the pelvis the game improved a lot.
But this was a damn key piece missing for me that right hip higher.
Now I can finally hit with the left shoulder a bit lower than usual in order to push down efficiently with left hand during impact.
    Great coaching sir 💪💪⛳

This is so foreign to me, now that said I am a hillbilly kid from Oklahoma so Stu is foreign to me for sure. I do have to admit, I took his stuff to the range the last two days and struck the ball as solid as I ever have, and my driver swing was the bane of my existence (long but unknown, snap hook city). after incorporating his swing methods It turned into a weapon for me. Still working on it but I will say this. Stu has garnered my respect, and I have seen enough in my own game to trust him with this part as well. I will be working this piece in, just as soon as I can get my body convinced that we are actually pulling the club while pushing the lead hip back. That has been about all the mind blowing I can do for this week!

Live in USA. Am 75 and have always had issues of hitting fades, push shots, and hitting fat shots. After watching you and your vidoes, I realize that my idea of how to swing the club is totally wrong. I am going to try and change the way I swing starting with my grip. Hoping to find a coach who agrees with your ideas of how the body movement dictates the swing. Thanks for your help. Stuart, thanks for this bit of content! As you know, it comes to me when I need it the most! What I love about your channel is how it challenges what you think you know about the swing and slays a few sacred cows along the way! The best thing is that you have a "truth detector" on the screen in front of you--Trackman is showing the truth of what just happened! Right hip high, rt shldr moving out and around in the dswing? That must be over-the-top, correct? No- Trackman says path is 2.5 in-to-out! Wow--maybe i don't know what I think I know! Thanks for being the myth buster and helping golfers like me!

Hi very interesting and quiet the opposite of what one would instinctively think to do. When I came back to golf I watched some teachings from Mike Austin whereby he taught a tilt of the pelvis during the take away and back swing. This took away a lot of pressure in my lower back and have stuck with that move ever since. I understand you don't teach a high right hip in the back swing, I guess my right hip is high already and i' can use it in the manner your so eloquently explain and demonstrate. Hope I can, really enjoy you videos, some times I chuckle at your exaggerations of what not to do. LOL

I have a little different way of thinking about this, because every time I start thinking about the right side during the downswing bad things happen. If I think about keeping the left hip down/level through impact/under an imaginary table, The right hip stays level and I start to get nice divots and very consistent contact and direction. This feel works perfectly with your drill. Thanks again Stuart.

Hi Stu, I tried your grip. Boy, is grip the most overlooked part of the swing !!! It created a free Swing through at the bottom of the downswing (due to left hand returning from the unhinged/uncupped left hand at the top of the swing to its setup hinged/cup position. it created a free wheeling swing booster for power at impact. Question for you: Do you pull down the left arm in initial phase of downswing? Or You start to use the right hand to swing through the ball (which will require a bit of side bend)?
and lastly, when (if any) do you use the right (more powerful) hand? Appreciate your advice. thanks

One question: after straightening the left leg, are the hips then level?

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

They will feel pretty level, a lot will depend on the right shoulder (for a right handed golfer) whether youll feel your hips level or not. The reality is that they cant be truly level, but its a feeling to push for. Best wishes Stu

Hi Stuart, I'm a little confused, most instruction talks about 'sitting' in transition, moving the hips back and level and are stacked over the ball, if the trail hip remains high, will this not lead to early extension, as tiger talked about the "Ole" move in that famous Butch Harmon video?

    • @GoodGolfCoaching

Hi Warren - I’m not familiar with the Butch Harmon “Ole” term unfortunately.
