    I’ve just got back from Bangkok and visited Edelweiss on Chris’s recommendation. I not only got my implant done there (which I was incredibly happy with) the money I saved gave me a free trip around the Mae Hong Son loop, motorcycle rental, three day in Phuket and a week in Railay Sand & Sea resort. Plus all the accommodation and food free with the money I saved ❤. Back home I would have paid $8000 nzd in Bangkok I paid $2500 nzd (for removal of broken tooth, pain relief, same day implant, temp crown and ct scan and received better care than I would have back home). Can’t thank you enough Chris. It was an awesome adventure 🤙

    I went to the dentist in Bangkok for a cleaning and check up plus a new night guard. it was the best experience I have ever had at a dentist in my life. Super smooth, everything was done in a day, including the night guard. I'm still using it, it works great. Cleaning and checkup was $55 CAD and guard was $140.

    I have watched your VLOG related to medical coverage and signed up with safety wing.
    However, as German I like to comment on your pronunciation of EDELWEISS - 😂 it has nothing to do with “idling”. The E is as in “emperor” or “emirates”
    That being said 😂, I have made the step to move to Southeast Asia (Philippines) about 10 years ago, my only regret is not having come here earlier.
    Keep up the terrific work

We have tried to find good dental care for her on my insurance over the years and have spent many thousands in copays only to get average or even poor care. We finally decided she should be flying back home to Thailand where she has been getting tons of major dental work done over the past year (a couple trips). I am PISSED how dentists and endodontists in the US have botched and overcharged her care. Can't wait to retire in Thailand! I hope Haley likes your teeth! I have been going to Thai dentists for fifteen years, and yes the treatment and their equipment is world-class, and much cheaper than here in Australia. Unfortunately for family reasons, I haven't been able to visit for a few years.
    Recently, I was told I need a 10yo bridge replaced but they may not be able to save the tooth, and if so I would need two implants.
    They quoted AUD$14,489 for that including a bone graft. I sent the treatment plan and scan to my Phuket dentist, who quoted AUD$7338 for the same work.
    Implants need two visits six months apart. Adding up air fares, accommodation and walking about money for two people makes it slightly more expensive to go to Thailand.
    However, I have some other non-urgent work that could be done on either of those trips, so it looks like I have no other choice but to take two holidays in Thailand!😁

      The one area where Thailand wins for me is time saving. Could you imagine an absessed failed root canal causing extreme pain and being told you have to wait 3 months to get it repaired by a specialist dentist, yeah sure I could have removed the tooth, but it was an important tooth. Anyway, the cost was not the reason, in my case, $2500 for the specialist and that was around 10 years ago, but the wait! Booked my ticket to Thailand the following week, landed in Bangkok the next day, and all done! It's worth every bit of the $500 it cost me plus the airfare as a side effect. I got a 2 week holiday!
      Implants are complicated as implants can not be done as a holiday procedure, minimum 3 months between the screw and final placement. In my case, 3 Implants done, then over a year later, the second visit to get them finished. So add that to the cost of having Implants done in Thailand.

    • @gregb1599
      @gregb1599 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's like anything you buy in the world, hype, and price vs. value and made in China. I am sure you can spend a lot on a tooth if you want the product made in Switzerland, thinking it's worth 2-3x the price of the implant that is made in Korea or China, at the end of the day both are made of titanium, both will outlast your life, same with the crown part, for me I chose the cheap but strong crown while others may want the most expensive that is made with real gold. $15k yeah, probably not that much, but $10k for sure with the best or at least most expensive implants and the most expensive crown.

    I'm in Canada and I was wondering if it was worth it but let me tell you my story and the price here in Canada. I needed 1 implant so the first part was the bone graft and the implant itself so this part was 2500 CND so 1850 USD. They have to let the implant heal for 2 months and after that they find out that the implant didn't stick well so they did it again for free (warranty). The next part is the crown, so this part was 2800 CND so 2075 USD and they used the same 3D tools, etc. Total cost was 5300 CND so 3925 USD for 1 implant but it took 9 months overall to let the surgery heal, the replacement of the implant at first time and the crown. I think that US dentist may be more expensive then Thai dentiste but Canadian dentists are probably more affordable and the fact that it took 9 months, I'm glad to have choose to do it in Canada.

    I find it strange that this can be done in a few weeks. The concensus is that this takes months.
    This is what my dentist told me;
    The dentist will place the implant posts in the jawbone. The healing time will take 3-6 months. After the implants have healed, the patient will need to return to the dentist to have the abutments (connecting pieces) placed on the implants. The healing period will take around 1-2 weeks.1
    I am pretty sure , if you do this in a few weeks, like in this video, that you will get problems in the future.

    Going through their website and comparing the prices to my dentist in Australia, it’s almost the same for a lot. The prices are great for perhaps people from america and Europe. We have very good proactive dental care in Australia. I found in Europe it’s very reactive and a minor fix isn’t done until it’s a major fix.

    That sounds a bit expensive for 4 dental implants. I had one dental implant + bone graft done in Dental City (Los Algodones, Mexico, walking across the border from Yuma, AZ) for less than $2K, including the MRI and the panoramic xray. Plus, they used the best dental implant on the market, not the low end or medium end. I've had it for 1.5 years now, with no issues. They also have far more modern equipment compared to what is used in TX, NY, and California. Although, I do believe that today, that cost would be a bit higher now, as the Mexican Peso has gotten stronger and USD weaker, so that is important to state.
    Good to know they have excellent dental care there. The best part of this story is how compassion this dentist was with this man being so anxious. That compassion is worth a bit extra.

    I had 4 crowns done and 2 wisdom teeth taken out in Pattaya 15 years ago it cost 50,000 baht which at that time was about a £1,000.
    Never had a problem ever.
    2 years ago I got a crown on the NHS for free, last time I got a teeth inspection they told me it needs to be done again.
    I'm going to Cambodia soon, I'll hopefully get it done correctly there.

    Great video. Food for thought. I just had a 3 tooth bridge done in Australia. One immediate implant and one delayed implant, 2 teeth had to be extracted. Then after 6 months the bridge had to be placed. Due to my anxiety this was all done, except the placement of the bridge, under general anaesthetic costing a total of $17,000aud with only $2,000aud back on private health. I have a few more that need doing but I really need it done under GA.

    I'm confused which is normal for me. I split locations and last year was a Thai year. I went to Costa Rica to also vet dental quotes. I was quoted in states over 80,000 for full mouth implants called 4 on 4. Basically a denture that is secured by dental implants. I got 6 on 6 for better security and my total including all air fare, hotels, meals etc at
    $30,000. I docume.ted it and will post it one day, but I feel 2000 is high for one tooth, actually 2,500 you know. Dental Tourism is hot now. Heavy competitio s in many interesting countries far superior to US and affordable. Now that being said if I was in Thailand only and no otber options this place looks phenomenal .. oh and like this Thailand Practice they are the Rolls Royce. There are many great dentist in in this tourism trend for even much much less

    Still seems quite expensive, in london you can get a dental implant for £1200 per tooth with bone graft and everything. That being said i got some dental work done in chiang mai and it was about 50% cheaper than what is shown in this video. Number one, I would like to know if you have been paid for this video because I'm really confused about these prices because one implant in the US is about 3k(the same price he just paid in Thailand) are we missing information? Also teeth cleaning is the same price as the US. Also, what the heck is he talking about with 15k for one implant!?! I feel like this is a very misleading video. Everyone should just stay home to have their teeth done and take a vacation wherever because they are not saving a dime at these prices. Either do better research or be upfront about whether this is an ad for this dental clinic because I feel like you are misleading people in this video and it's not okay.

    If I need 4 complete implants including crowns here in Los Angeles, California USA, I can get them for $2000 each almost everywhere. That's without bone graft at a mid priced dentist. There are some more expensive but, there are also some cheaper. I have seen specials whew the first one is only $995 and $2000 for the last 3. Everywhere I look in Thailand, the costs are about the same as what I pay here. A lot of stuff is cheaper in Thailand, just not dental implants.
