I wanted to let you know the impact you had on my life. I have recently been accepted into the ICare family. I think I am the lone assistant living in Chiang Mai and just began my duties yesterday. As this is a public forum, I will not go into the details. Let's just say that I am helping some of the hill tribe students that are sponsored by ICare. I would never have had the opportunity or desire to do this if it hadn't been for your videos highlighting their work. For that, I wanted to say thank you. If you do go forward with your videos, I hope you keep highlighting the lives of Thai people and the work that ICare, among many other organizations, are doing. Personally, I am never interested in your party videos as they are a dime a dozen on TH-cam. Your "day in the life" videos and your oddities videos are most appealing to me. As I said, without those, I would not have found myself doing what I am now. Many blessings to you and your family.

Chris, your insights were one of the key reasons we visited Thailand this year and we have already booked again for 2025. Absolutely fell in love with Koh Samui. Great to have you back and wanted to wish you and Hayley, health & happiness.

This was a great and sad video. I have watched Chris since day 2 of the push up challenge. I have seen him build this channel, brand, put out 2 videos a week, support worthy causes, and most important...help people fall in love with Thailand. I have seen all the hard work, dedication, and energy that went into all of this and when you watch it you think, WOW what a lifestyle. I can also see how it is time to switch life to a slower gear and I have this gut feeling that this may be the start of the big slowdown. Going full bore for 6-7 years can be tough. Will we see what we saw over the last 2 -3 years going forward? This is ok, it is great, definitely deserved. Just feels...well... you know.

Agree with your take completely. I kept wondering for so long where does he get this energy? How long will that last he has to start slowing down at some time..yeah I too think is the crossroads

I subscribed when you made the brilliant video with the light switch in Soi Cowboy during the pandemi, When you made the pay forward videos you gave me the guts to do something similar. So you helped me help other, even tho in a much smaller scale. Kindness is underrated. Wait for your next video and hope it comes soon. Find peace and make some videos for us please. All the best to you and your family.

    Hi Chris,
My wife and I have been watching your videos for the last three or so years.
We have visited Koh Samui twice before and are planning on going back in Feb 2025 with my sister/brother in law, daughter and her friend (their first time ever) for my wife’s 50th birthday.
We’re from Adelaide, Australia and would love to catch up with you and your beautiful wife for either a drink or to say ‘hi’ as we are so appreciative of everything you’ve shared on TH-cam about visiting or living in Thailand.
    👌🏼
    Cheers,
    Rafael..

It sounds like the Island life is tempting you to retire for real now?
No one can blame you if you do - I can imagine that it takes a lot of work to make these videos, and with the more laid back way of life on the Islands, it makes it all the more difficult to get motivated to do it. Besides, all videos need a topic and where to find those continually on a small Island.
No matter what you decide - thank you so much for showing and teaching us so much from Thailand. You went above and beyond - and I consider any future video from you as a most welcome bonus (I hope that you continue of course).
    Thank you.

I love to travel during low season. Easier to find accommodation and book flights. Weather is greyer and rain comes and goes but people are more chill than the 2 week wonders that tend to populate the high season. I got my ya ya's out quite awhile back so I can do without the jell-o shots (do they still do that?) and screaming chuggers. I live on what some might consider a desert island in the Philippines (think Koh Samui circa 50 years ago) so it's fun to compare notes with like minded people who've pulled the rip cord on life in the western rat race. Anyway, nice to see you back, Chris. I used to live on Sukhumvit Soi 12 right across the street from Cabbages and Condoms some 20 years ago and this is my first visit to Thailand in about 10 years. Much has changed and you've been a great resource . Many thanks!

Ko Samui’s weather is influenced by the northeast monsoon, leading to its distinct rainy period in the later months of the year. By January, the weather generally starts to improve, becoming drier and more stable. If you are looking for the best time to visit with minimal rain, February to April is typically ideal, as these months offer warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine.
The Northeast Monsoon is a seasonal wind pattern that occurs in Southeast Asia, affecting the weather over the Indian Ocean and the western Pacific Ocean. It typically runs from November to March and is characterized by cool, dry air blowing from the northeast. Here’s a breakdown of how it works and its impact:
    How It Works:
Wind Direction: During the Northeast Monsoon, winds blow from northeastern Asia, across China and into Southeast Asia, towards the Indian Ocean. This flow of air is driven by the high-pressure system that builds up over the Asian continent in winter and the low-pressure areas over the Indian Ocean and the Pacific.
Cooler Air: These winds carry cooler, drier air from the Asian continent, making the climate cooler and less humid in certain regions, especially in the northern parts of Southeast Asia.
    Impact on Weather:
Dry Conditions in Mainland Southeast Asia: The Northeast Monsoon often brings drier weather to mainland countries like Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam, especially in their northern and central regions.
Rainfall to Southern Thailand and Malaysia: However, when these winds blow across the Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea, they pick up moisture, which can result in heavy rainfall in areas like southern Thailand (including Ko Samui) and the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
Storms and Strong Winds: The monsoon can bring strong winds and sometimes cause rough seas, affecting maritime activities and ferry services in these areas.
    Impact on Ko Samui:
For Ko Samui specifically, the Northeast Monsoon's arrival means that the island sees its rainy season from late October to December, as the moisture-laden winds sweep in from the Gulf of Thailand, bringing heavy but often short-lived downpours. The monsoon's influence on this part of Thailand is different from the Southwest Monsoon, which affects other parts of the country earlier in the year.
Thus, the Northeast Monsoon is a key factor in shaping the weather patterns in Southeast Asia during the winter months, especially for regions closer to the equator like Ko Samui.

I did the opposite of you and I didn't regret it. Been living in Samui for a year, but then all became the same. Not many decent people to call friends, and not many activities. But I believe it all depends on time and if you live alone or not. I been living and working in Bangkok since 2011 and I don't miss Samui much. Btw... In 2010 there were no central and not many hi end hotels. And you could go from chaweng street straight to the lake just crossing country fields with the scooter. Amazing.

No pants (trousers for us brits) and no shoes couldn't agree more. Spending more and more time and finishing our build at Sunset Estates. Hope to see you around!

Hello Chris. You have been retired working for you for the last three years. Now it's time for you to be retired, working for me. And that's okay. We're all here to simply enjoy life. I for one, have enjoyed your videos for the last three years. I enjoy your animated enthusiasm as well as your Serious and very informative videos. My wife is recovering from open heart surgery that she had at Nakornping hospital five weeks ago. Here in about three or 4 more months, she should be 100 per cent And we will be back exploring the country of Thailand again. The quality of care that she received at Nakornping Hospital was excellent. And we are very thankful for the Doctors and nurses. that took care of her. Just keep on keeping on Chris Parker, and we will see you again when we see you. I for one will still continue to subscribe to your channel. And I thank you in advance for any future videos that come our way.
