I have to agree with you there. I loved Saints Row 2, which is the first Saints Row I had ever played back in the day. Later on I got my hands on a copy of the first Saints Row, and while it wasn't as good as SR2, I had respect for the game as the foundational building blocks that eventually culminated into SR2. I was super stoked when SR3 came out and bought a copy as soon as I could get my hands on one. The game was mildly entertaining, but something about it just felt so hollow and a massive downgrade in story compared to the last iteration. My friend had a copy of SR4 when it came out, and I played it a few times and just couldn't see myself actually wanting to go out and buy a copy of it. Moving forward I kinda just gave up on the series, even though SR2 was such a staple game when I was a teen.
I dont understand how they could mess up so badly, all they had to do was make a SR2 remaster and they would've been golden. Instead they went out of their own way to write a horrible story about hipsters with the worst game mechanics they've ever came up with to date. They kind of deserve this failure, all they needed was ONE competent game tester to know that this game was absolute garbage. The only way they could screw up this much is if they didnt play their own game or hired a bunch of lobotomised patients as game testers.
Bruh get it through dat skull if dey woulda tried a remaster it woulda been a disaster like da bioshock remaster, all we want is da source code of sr 2 to fix it ourselves, keep demandin it
@@AliBazz Would've sold more copies with a SR2 remaster instead of the garbage they put out, that's all I'm saying. Also whether or not they would of messed up the remaster doesn't matter, it could've easily of been a low risk cash grab compared to the high risk dumpster fire that put them out of business.
@@detricklez1583 yea well dont say trash like dat cause it aint helpin if all u carin bout is an incompetent video game publisher like deep silver gettin money, hows dat helpin wit saints row and its fans like me, hold dis L
wish you hadn't skipped Agents of Mayhem and Gat Out Of Hell because they definitely also played a role in the downfall, reboot was just final nail to the coffin...
It's free on PS plus so I gave it go with trepidation. The first few hours are a little rough concerning graphics, dialog and a few minor bugs. But I'm genuinely surprised at how much I'm actually enjoying it. It really picks up once you get to the ventures. At this rate, I'll definitely try going for the platinum.
low-key agree ppl act like saints has ever been that deep it's always had shit gameplay even as a fan of sr2 always wished it could compete with the driving in gta 4 or even graphics
Sadly, 5:15 is the starting downfall of Saints Row

Yep. Couldn’t have said it better myself. SR3 was playable but that’s definitely where things started going downhill
honestly if they didnt get rid of the og cast the game probably woulda done good
