    Most assuredly staying tuned. The only problems I see with siezing Amadea to sell to 'fund the war' are first of all, it has been for sale without a buyer for a while, and that during a time there was not the added difficulty of all the sanctions, and perhaps more importantly, if it is tied up in court for years, it may be impossible to market it unless the court gives permission. Meanwhile maintenance expenses, even if "mothballed" continue to mount. Have to agree with eSysman about Lurssen built vessels. I'll take his word on structural and mechanical components, but to my eye they are some of the most lovely to look at. Other than ancient usually wooden classics which are not sporting currently fashionable lines, but nevertheless have a timeless beauty.

It's not like the US government is acting above-board here and seems to be moving under the assumption of illegal activity rather than any actual evidence so far as I can tell. That's not how investigations should go and looks a lot like corrupt politicians stealing from people they don't like to give to their friends and supporters.

    Amazing channel and updates.. been subscribed for a long time! Few questions if you decide to do a QandA again that I think are interesting - 1) If they all go to the Black Sea, what would be the future - is there any cruising they would able to do around there, is there anything to see. 2) As they cannot get parts from Europe, US how long would they be able to sail. 3) What will this mean for the big super yacht producers, it seems Russians are some of their biggest clients. 4) Who will actually be able to buy these super yachts if they are put up for sale? and would they even want to own a yacht that has this history? Cheers!

    • @corail53

      My question is how does the states legally seize these vessels. Sanctions do not allow for seizures and unless they were proven to have been bought through the proceeds of crime in the US then they can't actually seize and sell them without breaking their own laws. If this happens there is going to be a tremendous amount of pressure on the courts and tie it up for years all being payed for by the American Tax payers. This has turned into a proxy war US vs RUS. The US is taking all the pot shots it can at Russia while not directly engaging in fighting. What Russia is doing to Ukraine is deplorable and should not have happened (moldova is next) however the US is not the world police and should not be able to do as it pleases either.

    I think I would be a little nervous buying any one of these Russian ships. It could be a little scary to find yourself out in the middle of the ocean and see some oligarchs henchmen come up along side you.

    This is another obvious super-spy ship with more surveillance gear than any US Navy spy vessel can muster. Ever wondered why there are so many Russian oligarch ships with this type of cutting edge surveillance and eavesdropping and satellite communication antennae and sensors?

    In a few years from now there’s gonna be a massive sale of super yachts around the globe which will probably bring $.50 on the dollar

    • @7divad37
      @7divad37 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will be a lot less than ...50c in the dollar. There are a limited number of people who can and WANT to own and run these beasts.

  • @slugdub101

    Would Lurssen know who owns these yachts? What about their 'personalised experience' where they sit down to design thet yacht with the owners, etc? Ask Peter!

    • @airsofter2247
      @airsofter2247 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lurssen isn’t going to say anything, at least publicly. Discretion is a huge deal when it comes to super yachts for lots of reasons, it was very important before the war, it’s still important now. They wouldn’t make/sell another boat if they made their very few customers public info.

    Wish Norway would have not allowed Ragnar to refuel and then seized it. The vessel was as we all understood, trying to escape justice and go to Turkey and not home port of Malta.

    Eduard Khudainatov appears to be a former CEO of Rosneft, holding the position while Igor Sechin was Deputy Prime Minister of Russia. So he presumably has ties to Sechin if not directly to Putin. Any guesses on whether or not he'll be added to the sanctions lists?

    Thank you I know nothing about super yachts but this is all very interesting. What seem bizzare to me (& I know I’m being simplistic but maybe things will change as result of this)..... I have a car worth 10k part of being able to use it is I have to legally show I own it if authorities ask for it. Why the **k! for these hundreds of millions of dollar vessels it isn’t “ show proof of ownership ie your name on a title etc”- if not they can take it off you...

    I came to your channel late, drawn in by all the oligarch/Superyacht stuff in the news. I must say I am impressed by the straight forward presentation of the facts and clear explanations of what the hell is going on with the toys of Russian gangsters. Bravo. At some point I will have to go back and watch all your old vids of stuff before the world went crazy. If I was young again(say late 20's to late 40's) and over there I would likely have been sucked into the Russian cesspit of money and privileged. 10 thumbs up.

    All these boats going to Sochi are basically going to stay there with very few choices on where to go and no appropriate shipyard to handle any major maintenance and no way to sell them in any currency except Ruble. Yuan, Bitcoin, or Gold. Will be interesting to see what happens. Certainly nobody is going to be having any fun on the boats unless they use strictly domestic "entertainment". Sochi is nice but it isn't Capri or Monaco or even here on Cayman. Great work as always eSysman

    Sailing a Russian super yacht into the black Sea might be pretty risky these days since the Ukrainians have finally gotten a shipment of Phoenix Ghost and S-600 Kamikazee drones which could be used to attack those yachts as part of Ukraine's May 9th celebrations!

    Fiji courts should impose docking fees on US govt if it intends to impound yacht. $1mil a day since its arrival. This way theres a stalemate on its movement. That yacht has some of the worlds finest wood. I see Gold. I see what ppl dont see. The best firewood is installed on it arseholes. Worth far more than any debt currencies in existance in the US . Iamma talking firewood here folks. Good firewood means good roast, good lovo or earthly cooked food and good island feast plus lots of kava. The rest as in parts can be towed away easy. Whether its pounds or kilos, its far more lighter when were done wit it. Iamma go look for some meat.. Yabee darbee dooooooooooo...
