Where I live (Vancouver Island) the freeway speed limits are 55-60 mph, and people generally stick close to that. For speeds like that, the XV250 is perfectly fine. I look at this video, though, and think doing 85 as just the regular flow of traffic is a bit crazy.
I live in Nova Scotia Canada. I have a 2019 v star 250 and on our freeways we go about 60 mph. We also have alot of big hill. The 250 can do 60 mph up big hills no problem.
I also live in Nova Scotia. Just bought a 2015 V Star 250. Smallest twin I've ever owed. Nice bike. I'm considering changing the front sprocket from the stock 16 took, up to 17. Should bring the rpm down just a little bit at hyway speed and, providing a bit more top end speed if wanted. The trade is a little lose of acceleration throughout the gears. The engine generates such little hp n torque anyway, the difference won't be stark.
My 2020 V-star 250 I have changed the front sprocket to a 17 tooth & I drive on the Utah freeways all the time. The other day I had to slow down at 91 mph because of cars in front of me, but I could have gone faster except for traffic.
It's interesting that this is faster than the newer design Royal Enfield 350. As long as the engine is not near the redline or over it, there is nothing to worry about regarding engine speed because it is operating within its design specifications. Did you do any sprocket modifications? Is the motorcycle smooth at highway speed or are your hands and feet buzzing? This seems like a great little motorcycle for those of us who don't like 400 pound and larger motorcycles.
Im 5 foot 11 inches, and I rode a v-star 250 when I took my MSF course. The shifter needed an adjustment so I could actuall fit my foot underneath it, but it was perfectly comfortable in every other respect.

I have an '89 Virago 205 and it probably only has 15 hp. It can reach 125-130 kph...but it is screaming

i do not have sprocket mods everything on the bike is stock, and yes i will feel my hands and feet buzzing after a while of riding on the freeway
