2024 Ducati Multistrada RS RIDE Review | The €40,000 Touring Race Bike!

- Today I am riding the brand new Ducati Multistrada V4 RS! This comfortable racebike now has the Desmosedici engine borrowed from the Panigale and Streetfighter underneath it so needless to say we have a very fast and powerful machine underneath us. As this Multistrada is brand new I'm still riding it in and can't go full throttle just yet. In this review I will talk about the handling , the storage , riding modes and much more. Have fun watching :-).

Is the new Ducati Multistrada RS worth the money or not? Let me know in the comments 😄
Nope 😎
No, the BMW M1000XR is pushing 200+ hp for $30,000. The RS is a great bike but the price is a joke.
Only if you've got spare 40K burning a hole in your pocket. If you have an ounce of common sense, you'll stay clear.
Man, it’s worth it if money weren’t a question, the question itself wouldn’t exist. The price is very exclusive. It’s not a common bike and it will never be…So, why not?
Passion has no limits 🫵😁
Saw a video of a bmw M 1000 XR. These would be awesome in a battle 😉
Not sure any bike is worth that money but that’s getting pretty close!!! 😎
I agree! Maybe after several model years and slightly used it’ll be worth it
Just a small fix Smokey. Number 46 belongs to Valentino Rossi, not Max Biaggi. But otherwise great video as always..
Wich is actually not that small of an error.
Biaggi’s number was 3…
I think Smokey did that on purpose since Rossi and Max were never the best of friends.
@@scottstetson2879obvious
@@scottstetson2879In fact the biggest rivals and yep that's why I said it wrong 😁.
Awesome bike and great video! Thank you 🙏🏻
Looking forward for the in depth review Smokey Boy let's go 🔥
Nice to see you enjoying a rear bike like that. Keep on thrashing it around!
Just finish with protecting my brand spanking new V4 Rally and first ride tomorrow , baauuuuuuuuu.... keep up good work, cheers V!
Another great video Smokey, thanks.
You didn't scratch that mirror already did you? 😂😂
10:50 The valve clearance is 15,000km for the RS Desmosedici not 30,000km. The Granturismo motor is 30,000km for the valve clearance, that is the killer for the RS.
Check the Ducati website , it is a Desmo engine but a little tuned down so more time until maintenance 😊
@@LifeofSmokey Oops my bad my brain translated 30,000km to miles. Still 30,000km valve clearance ruins this bike.
that's not really different to comparable sportbikes though is it? I agree though, for the extra 20 odd bhp I'd just get the pikes peak and have the longer service intervals and luggage
In a couple days I can really go full out on the RS. And the V4 Desmo on the Streetfighter feels totally different as the V4 from a Multistrada. The sound and how it rides is a real big difference. Everything on a Diavel or Multistrada is smooth and in some way boring for me personally as I like to ride a motorcycle that has that crazy feeling. My 1290 LC8 engine for example has this , it feels crazy to ride. The GS is a good bike but also boring , I like the boring feeling as a long touring bike as well. If you ever ride the new Streetfighter or Panigale , or just even just start it up you can feel and hear the difference. So it's not just the extra power it's a totally different feeling 😁
@@LifeofSmokey Obviously the Multistrada can't 100% compare to full on sport bikes, the Panigale and Street fighter are supposed to be crazy powerful but they're not even close to being as practical as a Multistrada.
Each bike has a specific goal/purpose. The KTM is a offroading monster, the Multistrada eats up the streets and then runs out of gas, the GS can travel the world without breaking a sweat.
My favorite video of the RS
What a beast Smokey
watching from Philippines❤🔥🔥
Love your energy on making this video, waiting for your honest opinion about this beast vs the new bmw M1000xr.
Coming soon!
This bike is intoxicating❤
The sound is what makes me crazy really its like a V-twin with a inline-4 combined, i know its a V4... but the sound at WOT is amazing.
46 is for Rossi and not max
I was just looking at one of these at Goodhart in Bodegraven (near to Gouda). It does look totally amazing, but more money than I would part with for just 1 bike. I could get 2 amazing bikes for that money..
Damn you... I own a multi V4 Pikes Peak and I said to myself that I don't need this bike, then I saw you pulling 3rd gear power wheelies and now i NEEEED it!!!!
(I'm slightly joking, but it makes a very strong argument for choosing the RS over the PP in the next iteration)
Tip: Smokey is riding it in the NO grannies and nannies "open throttle" mode. Our PPs HAVE to have some intervention even with race system mapping and ON "race" mode. Ugh. I'm grabbing a OFT de-restricting map program to get around this. $800 vs $9000 more.
Certainly sticks out from the crowd 😉
But seriously, how could they build this bike so heavy? Its 20 Kilos more then the BMW M1000 XR... thats just insane for the pricepoint
Got to throw a leg over an RS two weeks ago at AMS in Dallas.
Awesome bike, but still on a DesertX.
Dang it Sir Smokealot.....Test the Pikes Peak
Che bestia!❤
Worth the money? Depends. Proportionally speaking - and this is the key - you don't have more fun in that than with, say, an MT-07 that costs a fraction. HOWEVER... in a world where people spend small fortunes on a bloody wrist watch, 40K for what that bike can do is a bargain, if seen thru that prism. Money is as subjective as it gets. Enjoy the bike Smokey! 😎
KTM 1290 Super Adventure and a bag full of money left over please.
Gotta compare apples to apples: The 17" wheel. That would be the Superduke GT. I've had three KTM SASs and a SD GT--GT is the one to compare it with. But I am on a "mere" Ducati Pikes Peak now. PP is prolly the actually best balanced sport TOURER for carrying a pillion and integrated side bags.
Smokey one sick azz bike👍🫡🔥
Wonder how it compares to the m1000 XR,
BEAST on 2 wheels....
Amazing looking bike but that price!! 😮
Years ago, you either choose a streetfighter for the track if your back is bad or you don't go to the track. Now... things are different with the RS.
I had a test ride last week and this bike is a fu**ing beast. Totally over powerd and smooth at the same time. I'm scared of doing wheelies so i couldn't use the power one time. Good to see that the wheelie control works so well. I took the dicision that i don't need that bike. I can't use it so it will only shows everyone my big balls 😂. Maybe the 990 can be the perfect bike for me.
If you have to choose one bike: V4 Rally or RS wich one?
Oh man 😜😍
Breathe that in! HAHAHA! 😂
2 bikes money in 1 bike :D but what a bike !
Hi Smokey, I live in Italy near Milan and I have owned a Multi V4S Full for about a year and I am really satisfied. However, I would like to switch to a more "sporty" Multistrada because I don't do much road but I like a more agile bike and on both fast and narrow mixed routes. Which do you recommend? Pikes Peak or RS? Thanks so much for the advice.
Have not ridden the Pikes Peak but however....I spend last couple days on the RS and in race mode it's sooooo much fun and so fast. Will ask if I can get a hold of a Pikes Peak to compare 😁
i like it!i like it alot!
Imagine being stupid enough to pay 40 grand for this. I paid 3k for my 13 1200 multi, tuned, with all carbon fiber EVERYTHING and every aftermarket upgrade that EXISTS. And i have 37k in my pocket.
Very very nice bike, i like it a lot! I missed the Wera winners, or i was too attracted to the bike 😅
In depth garage review about the RS , my timing was bad haha sorry
1:15 😂😂👍‼️
waiting for test ride review of m1000xr ❤️🔥
Frickin amazing bike!, but 1, the price is ridiculous. 2, last years pikes peak should have been “rs” and this one should be the pikes peak. Really nice bike though ❤️
It's a nice bike but 40k is crazy 😂😂
Rossi not biaggi
I wish they come with the carbon wheels like the SP
So I own a 2023 Pikes Peak (170hp) GT engine vs Street Fighter engine but I am curious if this bike really goes far enough over to the sporty side to make it worth it? The GT engine will no doubt be less maintenance, more reliable etc. The Pikes Peak is more power than anyone would need. This bike just seems like a statement piece vs a replacement. I also have a Super Duke Evo at 180HP and I am sure it corners better and is faster than this RS. I like my PP for sport touring so I am curious if this one will be reliable enough to tour? Don't get me wrong I am sure the RS is amazing but is it sporty enough to replace something like a Super Duke and it is suitable to tour on? If so I can see it replacing two bikes but I can't see it.
It's more like a nice upgrade for the PP with that engine in it. Ducati designed it to be a "racebike" not a touringbike. It's something special for sure 😁
should compare it to the M1000XR, also 4cilinder, 17 inch wheels
Can't beat a 4 in line vs a V4 in my book. It's like 2stroke vs 4stroke. I LOVE how a 2stroke sounds but I prefer the torque 😎
Its my dream
I have a Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak and yes it's comfortable and sporty but it's not a race bike. It's heavy and the V4 is even taller and heavier than the 1260 V2.
You can argue that any bike can go on the track but....
The V4 engine would have been better served in a Supersport.
smoking 😛
It was the best, now BMW has dropped the 205 hp M1000XR... when can you give us an in depth comparison? I've ridden Ducatis since 2006, but that BMW looks wild...
Such motorcycles still exist ? Where are the electrical powerful motorcycles ?
I love mine, I can't stop smiling when I get on it. Over priced? Maybe, but I love it.
Please, link for GoPro handlebar support…thx
I think it is the Insta 360 mount if I'm correct. I have so many and it doesn't have a name on it 😅
@@LifeofSmokey I would like exactly that one because I see it as stable, I've tried others but they vibrate too much
What’s the difference between this and a Pikes Peak MS ?
This is the one and only Desmo engine from the Moto GP. If you start a Panigale or Streetfighter and start a Diavel or Multistrada next to it you won't even hear them start. This is the more race based engine , not the touring one 😎
Does it have heated seats?
Optional , heated grips also optional
Pikes Peak would work for me, but if you have an extra 7K in pocket change why not 😅.
Engine feels really different 😅. But I see your point haha
Beautiful machine. If I had that sort of cash laying around I would have 1.
Nice bike, but in the netherlands waaaay to expensive!
43.000 +
Hey your country voted for the people in charge don't forget that 😅😅😅
Very very cool bike. But unfair to compare it to the R1300GS. Its more comparable to the S1000XR or the upcoming M1000XR.
Also the sound of a inline four just sounds better to me than a Ducati V4. Even though the sound of a Aprillia V4 comes very close.
A subscriber asked me to compare it to the BMW GS that's why I did it 😊. I love both bikes for what they are and need to do 😊
@@LifeofSmokey oke fair! Any plans to review the M1000XR?
I stopped sending e-mails to motorcycle brands. It's always asking and begging for motorcycles. There are some brands that know I'm already the biggest in the country as a motorcycle journalist. Some brands support me right away by giving me bikes first , sending me to places and so on. I don't want to sound spoiled or selfish but if a brand has something for me they just need to send me something. I can't keep begging all the time 😔
Would Smokey buy it?
40k € is waste of money, 10k for moto and 30k for traveling.
Words from a poor man
Y doesn't this RS have the dry clutch
And 46 is rossi
Just love my 1199 all the way..
Uhoh... Stelvio or Multistrada Grand Tour? 🤔
Ummmm Rossi was #46!
Mijn excuses 😅🙈
Top man en slim
Ducati has become a status symbol but it will backfire on them in the long run.
How did bikes get to the stage where they cost so much money!!! It’s becoming ridiculous.
Ohlins , Brembo , Titanium , Carbon fiber....those things 😅
Beautiful bike ❤........but crazy money 😢. I mean who has the disposable income that they could afford that amount on what is essentially a toy?
It is rather a commercial than a "review" ;)
I'm by far the best reviewer in town. I'm working on it 😅🙈
Looks like a falcon on steroids. Nice.
Don't really like the design of multistrada but what he'll of an engine!
To save some money you can remove the front wheel: you don't need it anyway 🤣
Depends if you turn DWC on or off haha.
What do you do for living bro😢
TH-cam for 12 years 😊
giveaway? :)
In depth garage review of the RS 😉
What is up with all those ugly sounds of the new gen bikes?
Euro 5?
Compare to the multistrada 1260s akrapovic(db killer removed) this sounds like a sheep.
Sound is important for me.. as well as;
1) crashbars
2) skit plate
3) fog lights
4) top box
5) phone mount & charger
6) bar risers for upmost comfort
I ride 40.000km a year and 2x to morocco from Netherlands so need it all haha
Groeten!
Only 180 bhp? I thought the normal one had 180bhp 😅
170 , this is 195 with exhaust and racing oil 😁.
40000 😂😂😂
Definitely no
M1000xr much better value and speed than ducati rs
Desmosedice Engine😬😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Id pay stupid money for this bike for looks alone but more so to save my back and rists
To many dolars........this is a metal ,aluminium and plastic.........
🤮too much 🤑for a ugly bike, I rather take Superduke 1290Gt✊🔥
It's a big, fat, ugly fast thing!
Ciao. Con 40.000 euro se permetti ci predo una Bmw M 1000 XR , e una Duke 990!! Che dici?🤣🤣🤣🤣
