No sont think so but to test it i plugged 2 wires into where the capaciter plugged in and then touched them to pos and neg of a motor boke battery and you can then here the fuel pump kick in thays how i tested it
Once the capacitor has died can you revive it with plugging the battery into it as apposed to into the loom ( to rechrge the capacitor) . Or throw away n get another?
@@backgardentips I just did it then mate, it worked a treat. I threw the battery on the capacitor plug for about 20min , it then had 13.3v n bike fired straight up.
@wilburwild5892 that's great news keep me updated with it to see if it holds charge over a few days and still works I gess that will help loads of people out that cart find a replacement

Im having the exact same issue. I ordered a capacitor and installed it and still no spark. Great spark with the battery but it seems like the capacitor is bad even with a good capacitor on it. May i need to charge the capacitor or something?
@@backgardentips yes, well a power generator/battery charger that I set to 12 volts. I have kept the capacitor plugged in and used wire to connect into the capacitor terminal with it still plugged into the bike. Then I plugged the battery power to the wires and started the bike. It runs fine but then when I unplug the battery power(with the capacitor still plugged in) the bike immediately shuts off. This is a new capacitor as well
@@backgardentips unfortunately I do not. Maybe I'll try to return this one. My only other guess is for some reason the magneto puts out voltage but just not enough for some reason
@motobevy7850 does it try to start then die .. thing is the capacitor is only to start it and the stator takes over so when u running it with the battery stator taking g over and working so your stator should be good witch leeds back to the capacitor faulty again mate
You can twist the choke left or right to set tick over some people dont know and when pulling choke out twist it with out knowing have you tryed setting that mate

i have a kx450f and it only starts with the 12v battery plug in...... but the bike is making fire evry time i kick it...... it just wont start until i connect the battery
Olá sou do Brasil sou mecânico, estou com uma kx250f2013 aqui, fizemos motor dela, moto funciona com um pouco de dificuldade, e nao tem marcha lenta, válvulas estão entrada 0.10 saida 0.15 Testei muita coisa e não sei por onde encontra poblema
What symtems you getting when kicking the bike does it start with a bump but not kick when was last time shims was check thats a common problem with 4 strokes

@motobevy7850 I belive its a bad capitor still because that's how it acts it shuts straight off do you know some1 with a working 1 just to try

Hey my 2013 rmz 250 is fuel injected it starts and dies wont hold idle can it be the rectifier? Already changed capacitor and coil

No because the cap is what starts the bike before the stator takes over

Have you tryed turning the idle speed up on the fuel pump its the choke u pull out you should be able to turn it left and right to adjust the idle
We're you still getting spark with a bad capacitor?

If your getting a constant spark no if your just getting the 1 spark on a full kick yes
