- First time up to The Tent since the winter trip. Opening it up and getting ready for the Minnesota fishing opener. Visiting my Dad at The Backwoods Cabin. It is nice to be back to The Tent.
Spend as much time with your Dad, I lost my Dad in 2019. I miss him so bad.
The best part of this video is the chatting with dad.

You were commenting on the water rapids how they bring a sense of serenity to your wellbeing. I think for me hearing the birds talking or singing does that to me as well. What a beautiful location during the spring months. Really it is peaceful most of the time that you share your slow down adventures here. I am not much of a winter guy. But spring and summer seem to be the idea times to be there. Most of the lakes that I am familiar with around here have more houses/lodges than you do.
Lol I literally just told my wife how I was looking forward to the next tent video and this notification popped up.
Anyone else feels like they are in the passenger seat headed to the tent. Great video.

Get better Melissa! I had a stomach virus last month and it sucked. Dulcolax and pedialyte was what made me get better. Hope your dad's surgery goes well. We will be praying for him!

I've said before, this reminds me of when I was about 12 and had my grandfather do stuff with me at a small farm in Somerset, Ohio. At night we'd build a fire and sit and just listen to the sounds as we talked. We had a stand up black and white tv with tubes. It took a few seconds to warm up and we got in three channels. On Sunday morning they had cartoons and then a few movies in the afternoon. Lawrence Welk at night. Dragnet. He loved those shows. Those awesome sounds when you were sitting outside made me think of that. I hope Melissa is feeling better because for some reason a lot of people around here are complaining of a stomach like flu and they said they are literally drained of all energy that lasts about 4 days.

It's beautiful here in Allegheny mountains of pa. LIVING here almost a yeara r enjoying the peace an quiet campfire every night during week then weekend comes an city folk move in love it

From one Edward to another: You have to be careful with Joe’s channels. I have been watching Joe work his tail off to make a living, raise a fine family, maintain and improve his tent property, remodel a house in Louisiana, manage his farm and bring us these awesome videos for years and never miss a single one. Love this channel. And the other one. And the other one.
Each time I go the same stuff needs to be done. The weather may change but other than that we have fishing in the spring and summer, bugs and then 4 months later fall weather starts and we have no bugs and hunting season comes. Its the Tent.
I like it because it feels home-y & real. I like to look out at the water & be at peace. I am sick of current events.

I’ve had both knees done, best choice of my life. No pain, mobility back. Hips are a bit easier - after the hospital stay, do what they tell you - maximium dose of Tylenol and no opioids unless it’s real bad. Good luck dad!
Kinematic alignment is the way to go! Had my left knee done 18 months ago and was up and around, no pain, 7 days later!
Wish I would have had it done 15 years ago. Arthritic as all get up!

My favorite place on earth and never even been there...WOW it's shocking how dry it is at the tent and its only May. Nice to chat with your dad, lots of credit to him for raising such a great son. Hope you catch lots of fish.

Had a total hip relplacement at age 52. Went back to active firefighting for 3 more years until I retired. It’s the only part of my body that doesn’t cause me pain. For the first couple of years it was a great weather predictor. Best of luck and healing.

The shirts are really nice! The last few years we've had a small handful of a type of water bird that's black with a small speck of white on the wings. We have an abundance of Canadian Geese. Glad it's cooler for you. We went from 40-50's plunged into 80-90's with lows in 60's. Next week near Wed. nights could get as low as 45. Crazy weather.

Bless your dad's heart for the upcoming hip replacement! I'm 52 tomorrow, and I've had 2. Also 4 back surgeries, the hip replacement was worse to me , but atleast I hear the hip isn't as bad as a knee replacement
Joe, after all the years I have watched your channel, I do not see any other cabins on the lake. Are you the only one? It is always good when I see you are at the cabin. Loved seeing your dad again! Blessings.
There are a few. My parents cabin is on the lake as well as their old cabin (you can do a video search on this channel for a video called "Log Cabin" that cabin is the folks old cabin). There is a very old cabin that was built by the CCC back in the 30's that is on the lake. Georges cabin on the other side of the lake is high up on the hill along with a couple more cabins. You do not see those because they are back from the lake a ways. Otherwise all the other property surrounding the lake is the Superior National Forest so no other land can be bought and no other cabins built.

Joe, as I’ve written you before, I so wish I could sit and talk with my dad today. Of course, he was not near as talkative(in the best sense). But, he’s no longer with us, my dad. You are so blessed. hoping for great surgery out comes on your dad’s hip replcmnt. I’ve had two done now. I used to run on the one without any bother.

Joe, you’ve had such a busy spring. I’ve been watching all the progress right along. I can’t imagine how much you were looking forward to just pulling into the tent driveway, I have a cabin very similiar to yours…it’s not a tent but it’s rustic and has no electricity and is also right on the lake. The Tent videos remind us so much of our own place. Thanks for bringing us along. We are opening up our cabin this weekend…leaving Saturday and we can’t wait! Hope all goes well for you Dad. Watched all the deer camp videos….hope you can put some venison in the freezer this year. The wolves are like coyotes and they all suck! Take care!

Those shirts are great Joe!!! Just finished watching the rest of the video. We do the same thing for our channel, using a site called Bonfire. We have t-shirts, hoodies and even a coffee mug. We really don't do anything but set it up and if someone wants one they just go to our store front on Bonfire and order whatever they want. Of course ours just has the logo of our channel on them. I know I will want one of your t-shirts with "The Tent" on it for sure! Great video, so peaceful listening to the frogs!! Nothing better than pork!! Nothing like going old school with the lanterns.
