Tunage with a great sound, My method you know, The Amp has the speaker disconnected, line out to desk, then to presonus interface box, usb to laptop and whatever DAW I'm using (usually ableton these days) Monitor via headphones, the neighbours don't hear it but I do, I still get all the sound, This box sounds like a contender, great vid
Thanks for having a view & listen, I'm just starting to explore this rig setup. Do you have a method of loading the amplifier's output? .... this box goes between the speaker out & the actual speaker & can attenuate from full speaker volume down to no sound from the speaker yet retaining the ohm load from the amp. If you run a tube amp with the speaker disconnected you may risk damage to the output transformer
It hasn't hurt the output transformer as far as I know LOL, I've been doing it this way for at least 8 years maybe more, Your set up is a better way of doing it so maybe later this year I'll get one
Hi, thanks for sharing. I am now interested in buying the ox box and I have seen all kinds of demos that say there are a lot of disconnections. This is true ? And a second question, do you know if Universal Audio will release more updates soon? Thanks
Thanks for watching, I do like the Oxbow a lot & I only have connection issues with my iPad due to multiple wifi networks in my studio/office. I THINK the Universal Audio folks are about to release a newer version this year
@@WayneMemphisMojo I heard that the ox box should work at 2.4 Hz and then they won't be disconnected. Thank you, I was very hesitant to buy the boss waza, but apparently my heart goes to the Oxbox
I have an OX and planning to get a Fender like that, so do you disconnect the speaker and connect the cable in to the OX so leaving the speaker unplugged?
When I am recording things silently I connect the "Speaker Out" of the amp into the "Speaker In" of the OX Box then balanced line out of the OX Box into a DI before it goes into the interface. You could connect the OX Box "Speaker Out" to the combo amp's speaker but it's not necessary.
@@WayneMemphisMojo Thanks for the reply. I go from the OX balanced line out stright into the interface, is there any reason why you run it into a DI? I've never tried that, is it an active or passive DI?
@@geomusicmove I'm using an active Countryman 85s (stereo) DI mostly because I use the -15db pad to lower the gain before it hits the interface & sometimes I need to lift the ground (although I haven't had to do this with the OX)
Which attenuator are you using ... most are pretty easy to use. FROM amp "speaker out" jack then INTO the Attenuator "amp in" jack. Next FROM Attenuator "Speaker out" jack to the speaker. The Attenuator goes between the amp & speaker.
it's what Fender called a "64 Custom Deluxe Reverb" it's a modern version of a black face with a hand wired circuit board. Thanks for watching the video Gregg.
Hi Wayne, thank you for this demo. It sounds very nice. When you go DI from the Ox box can you get all the amp reverb recorded as well ? And are you getting of gain level from the amp doing so ? My jazz box DI into my audio card is actually low level. I miss a bit of control on that and wish to gain some level while having the possibility of using an nice amp. Regards.
I have used all aspects of the amp running through the OxBox and into my interface or mixing console (the reverb, EQ & compressor on the OxBox can be turned off). The only thing that is going to be different than the sound of your amp is the speaker itself. When you use the OxBox ad a load box for direct (silent) recording you have LOTS of speakers simulations to choose from (& the are the best sims I have heard) but they will be different then your speaker. The software (which I control from an iPad) is very easy to use and navigate once you know where each control aspect is within the software. Feel free to ask any other questions.
did you use the ox purposely on the 100 watt setting with the deluxe? i find that the matching done by switching to 50 really brings out the amp and makes the headroom sound more realistic ...
I have found that to be the case also. It just took me a while of fiddling around with the options on the OX Box. Thanks for the comment & for watching.
Hi, thanks for the demo. I have a question for you, does the OX BOX pick up any noise/hum that is present in the amp? Or would it somehow bypass that character of the amp. I have a Dlx Reverb that is noisier than I would like and it can be annoying when close micing to record. I thought maybe the OX BOX would be a better recording solution. Thanks!
I've only noticed noise that you get from the guitar. As far as your microphone issue, your amp might be producing enough electromagnetic interference to cause noise in the microphone. I am a big fan of this Ox Box and I really recommend it for direct recording.
Thanks for making this vid. Sounds great. This is a combination that I was thinking about. Confirmed.
Hey man, thanks for watching ... if there are any gear combinations you want to here let me know.
Incredible performance! great music!!!
Thanks for having a listen ... I gotta say this Universal Audio OX Box is really the star of this video.

Clean, clear and chill-lovely!
Thanks ... I got some catching up to do with your videos
Lol. Well, I got some catching up to do with your guitar playing! Smiles to being connected in positive ways.
Cool cool cool ... I do love your music ... so catching up on your videos will be a pleasure
I just visited your channel and have hit the red button 😊
Very cool ... I shall check out your channel as well. Thanks for viewing.
Superb sound Wayne
Thanks Paul ... tough to beat a clean Deluxe Reverb ... even when it's being processed digitally
beautiful
There will be some more ... hopefully I can push myself into some Rock &/or Roll stuff

Can you use the built in reverb and tremolo of Fender with the ox?
Yes, any aspect of the amp can be used & if you want to do just straight DI from the OX Box with no speaker, mic or reverb sim they can be bypassed
Awesome video bro!!!
Randy Tritt thanks for having a listen y'all ... I'm really digging the OX Box
Wayne Ridenhour has that awesome sound man awesome pickn too bro!! ive got to get sum more videos up soon!!!
hello. even if you don't use amp reverb and ox reverb , Is there tiny reverb on your sound when you picking strong ?
It could be the "Room" knob on the OX Box. There's a setting for room mics to be introduced into the sound.
Hey Wayne, I’m trying to hook up an attenuators to my 68 Deluxe Reverb. Could you please explain how to attach the combo amp?
Which attenuator are you using ... most are pretty easy to use. FROM amp "speaker out" jack then INTO the Attenuator "amp in" jack.
Next FROM Attenuator "Speaker out" jack to the speaker. The Attenuator goes between the amp & speaker.
Is the amp one of the reissues? It sounds like a silverface - good

What speaker cable extender are you using?
I ordered one from Amazon ... here's the link smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A9D3CIE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
