  • Glassie bike park continues to improve year on year and boasts some of the best natural feeling Tech Flow trails in the UK.
This is our third visit in as many years and there is something special that keeps bringing us back. The tracks are generally fast, flow really well but there is plenty of tech thrown in for good measure, with the natural landscape providing the interesting features between some superbly built berms, rollers, jumps and gaps.
This was filmed around day 6 or 7 (lost count) of a Scotland riding week and the fatique was starting to creep in a little.
I (stupidly) rode a washed out berm at the top of Purple Haze, managed to save a spill but twisted my lower back in the process effectively rendering my ability to pump and stay active on the bike all but useless. As a result my runs down purple haze (featuring some superb new jumps) and new addition CarmenEm did neither the tracks or the edit any justice.
The tracks were in great condition considering the amount of rain it had put down the weekend before we rode it. These are all hand built trails so any weather damage is a huge job for the local dig team so thank you to them and hats off for the hard work you continually plough into this MTB paradise!
We have still to explore much of Perthshire, we have sampled Pitlochry but are yet to ride the famous Dunkeld which has 4 distinct hill/areas to go at and would need several days to fully explore. Its actually fairly easy to reach for most the the UK and is only an extra hour or so past the Tweed valley depending were you call home.
You should come ride here, I promise you will leave with a smile on your face. I'm pretty sure we will be back next year to sample some more Glassie goodness!

Techy flow probably defines what I like most. This place was on my radar, nice to see another POV.

New to riding but so far Whinlatter north loop is my fave, off to Scotland tomorrow though, so that might change soon.

Whinlatter north is a tremendous trail. Where are panning to ride in Scotland?

@@MindfulTrailBiker it really is, was my first red, need to get back. Staying in Fort William so Nevis Range lower trails and probably head over to Laggan Wolftraxx. I’m mostly a climber and was planning on winter climbing but sadly it’s all melted away. But thankful to have got into biking which can do in pretty much any conditions. You have any suggestions for that area?

I’ve quite got to Nevis range or laggan. We were supposed to head up autumn summer but a pretty fierce storm hit the west of Scotland, landslide over roads and the works so we spent most time in Aberdeenshire instead. You’ll not go wrong with the plan you’ve made. Let us know how you get on! Enjoy!!

@@MindfulTrailBiker ah fair, been bad for it past five months. Spring is around the corner though so hopefully you can get up. Thanks will let you know. Laggan looks really good so pretty excited for there.

Didn’t get the best weather last week, only hit a few runs at Nevis Range, sideways rain etc. need to go back. Laggan is amazing! Didn’t hit everything there, but most of the trails, airs rock is great! Pretty intimidating on first go. Definitely worth a visit, I know there’s enduro nearby too that’s meant to be good, but I’m not ready for that yet nor do I have bike for it. But even if you went for the trail centre, well worth it, stunning Mountain View’s, that were snow capped on our visit.
