Gwydir Forest - The Welsh forest with a split personality - PART ONE

Gwydir Forest is a truly superb place to ride a mountain bike and has a very split personality that should satisfy everyone from XC lovers to those chasing the Gnar!
This is part one of our exploration of what Gwydir forest in Llanrwst/Betswy-Coed has to offer to mountain bikers of intermediate to advance abilities.
In today's edit we take a full loop for the Gwydir Mawr red graded XC loop and give our take on where it sits in the modern world of MTB.
It's approx 25km with 800m of climbing and features some cracking single track.
I took the opportunity to get a little intimate with the Nukeproof Scout to see how it fairs on this notoriously rocky trail that was created around a time when the XC hardtail was king!
An unexpected issue with the van meant we had to come home so didint get to record part 2 in the same weekend, We will be back ASAP to record some off piste goodness for you lovely people!
