- I decided to share my latest project with my new xTool D1 diode laser and my creation of a custom Catan board game. I wanted to walk through my approach, some of the materials I use, and my files in @lightburnsoftware7189. This is just part one of the series but will give a ton of great info if you are about to start doing more detailed work with a laser cutter.

nice. I 3D printed a set of Catan a couple of years ago that makes it more thematic
I had big plans to do that as well, but never did. I bet you are really happy you took the time to do it.
@@sedetweiler it was a great project and people love playing on the 3D pieces. It was so time consuming I doubt I’d do it again lol

I will use the official game pieces, just not the board. Although, you never know, as I might decide to make those as well someday.
That's pretty impressive, not gonna lie. I haven’t played that game, but you'll have one hell of a setup once you're done.
Could you use the 'wastage' space inside your frame cutouts for some of those coins/counters, or the resource bits you'd added?

I just got the 10w for now. Eventually I would like to upgrade but I wasn't sure what I needed yet. Decided to go with the cheaper kit.

@@herfstmys4125 I kinda do that now, as you can ask for designs and it will give you ideas, or at least points of departure.
It would be awesome to be able to 3d print this. I don't have a laser cutter. Any plans on releasing the files?

That is a 3d mouse. I use it for my client work in rendering product images or designing for my 3d printer projects.

I might once I get it done. I was actually pondering making it a course where we make it together so people can learn how to use Lightburn as a design tool and then also cover the cutting and painting as well. Thoughts?
