Thanks for this video. It's a nightmare trying to get that horseshoe thing out, and even more of a nightmare trying to find out information on it. At least now I have a name and a method of removal.
I have a lock like this but it doesn't have a screw holding on the tail. The tail is set inside and it just slides side to side when you rotate the key. Problem is I can't figure out how to install it because the locking nut can't fit over either end. The tail is too big to slip the nut over and so is the face. I think I have to remove the tail somehow but I can't figure it out. Ever seen any like this?
that type of locker stops you from opening the door towards the outside, but is there a way to stop people from punching the door towards the inside and stealing the things inside it?
Yes there is , first you measure the inside of the locker from the back to the edge of the door , find a piece of strong wood or cut it to measure even better would be a metal bar place it inside the locker across touching the back of the locker and the edge of the door, two on each side would make it even stronger.
Ye but it's an instructional vid aimed at showing joe bloggs how to change something,if i showed my apprentices how to change a piece of glass with a sledge hammer they would think it correct and do it. By the way the nylon hammers are cheaper at toolstation.
Thanks for your feedback, I'll ask my engineers to go to Screwfix and buy a nylon hammer. To be clear this video was for demonstration only and no customers lockers were harmed during it's production.

Do i hv to remove it , each time i want to change the numbers?
And scratch the locker a good bit too.
Is that a 16mm lock or a 20mm lock used in the video?
Hi EJ, that’s a 20mm can lock

if you had used a nylon hammer you would not of shagged the paintwork on the door LMAO
