Thanks heaps. I hadn't picked a wafer lock before, but needed to open one at work after we lost the key. Your video meant i had a plan for how to approach the lock, the different tools to try, and the different techniques to use. It opened on my first try with a snake rake, and I looked like a pro in front of my workmates!
Snake rakes are one of the bests for a wafer lock! I’m going to try it to bust into my dads safe to get back my passport 😭 please let me know of any techniques you tried :)
I suggest you rename the video to all about wafer locks , or include in search double sided wafer lock it will be easier to find for some people, cheers
Thank you for the video, if i may ask a question, How can you tell if the the wafer lock is single or double sided? the part where you mentioned it wasn't close enough to see properly, thx
@@LockNoobare they distinguishable by shape, because the one i have appears to have metal top and bottom but i don't think it was a double and can't remember if the key was one sided or two.

If you look in the keyway, you should be able to see whether the wafers go into the keyway on one or both sides

Great vid, 👍👌😊
Thanks!
Great tutorial. I'm a locksmith apprentice. Can you tell me where I can find a vice like the one you use?
Javier Aguilar these are found on most online household and tech retailers including Amazon. I'm using a Panavise 350 now which is excellent :-)
So you can't use a regular L shaped tension wrench for that kind of lock?
JoeDurobot you can, as long as you don't disturb the wafers, which can be both sides of the lock. A pry bar can work too :-)
Lock Noob were did you get the mini juggler
Efren Gonzalez Amazon, would you believe :-)
Lock Noob I checked and they don't can you give me a link to one thank you
