YEEEESSS! The closure Zeb Wells puts on Magick's story still gives me chills. I still wonder if she deserved to be imprisioned for this, but she did endanger the entire race so it balances out i guess lol. Thank you so much for this I love Magick!
The way the Wells run ended for Magik really set her up for how prominent she was throughout the 2010s. She got her soul back, but she was still supremely messed up and everyone was afraid of her. At the same time, Wells really established just how badass she is and started the trend of her having the best lines like 'there are no snowflakes in hell.'
So, I just finished reading this run that flew under my radar at the time. I have said I before and I'll say it again, your content makes me enjoy comics more and that is the kind content I'm looking for.
I dont know how i missed this run but it seems pretty awsome. Thanks for covering it. For video ideas I'd love to see a series of videos of you building teams in the marvel universe. Like "Make your own X-men, X-force, Avengers ect." So like who would you put on your x-men team? What would their mission statement be in the current marvel landscape. Pretty much what books would you want/wish marvel would create. You could even make up books you'd want to see with established themes. For example I'd love to see a book of a new young X-men team that includes Franklin Richards, Karasu, Sojobo, Maxime and Manonon. focusing on school life and training. Kind of a similar book to "Wolverine and the X-men by Jason Aaron" I want all of these characters to expand their powers or maybe Franklin could have a power bestowal ability giving them new ones. I think it'll be cool to see a weird teacher like Legion Ever couple of books he could be a new personality teaching the class.
Looking back at how Cyclops' goal with this team was to find the next leader for mutantkind, it seems that he did, but it wasn't Sam or Dani, and it wasn't anyone who was in that issue. It was the person he imprisoned at the end of the run. Right now Magik is one of the leaders of mutantkind and Krakoa. She's a Great Captain and has done a lot more than Bishop or Gorgon have done in that role. She's Scott's most trusted lieutenant as shown by the plans they devised together in X of Swords and Scott and Jean asking her to look after Teen Cable. And perhaps most importantly, she's in charge of all the kids of Krakoa. She and Warpath are basically creating the nation's education system by themselves because Xavier can't be bothered and Rahne, Dani, and Karma are too busy with their own problems. She makes decisions, especially the hard decisions, and gets things done.
I'm really curious about what happened between the end of Rosenberg's Uncanny and the start of HoX/PoX. How would you even make that video, there's almost no information on it.
I understand why Hickman decided to skip that as it made for a more exciting opening arc to his run but i hope in time that gap in time will be filled in at some point.
I just finished the Zeb Wells' New Mutants trade prior to watching this video and was going to read some Schism to learn more about Kade Kilgore and Homines Verendi but then I thought reading your modern X-men fast track and Hickman reading order might make more sense. I'm trying to be selective with my reading, especially since I don't know how much X-men history is going to be basically ignored by Hickman; but then your videos often show how "deep" Hickman goes, so maybe more history is better. Anyway, I thought Cannonball pretty much eliminated all of the Inferno mutants (excluding Face). We saw the explosive collision with Scab but I sort of figured the dynamite suicide vest he was wearing played a BIG part in their elimination. I don't think Krakoa could revive them, but I wouldn't bet against Sinister (Goblin Queen?) somehow bringing them back in Hellions. I would think, with regard to leadership, experience and natural talent still matters even when mutants are basically immortal. I'm a fan of Highlander and Macleod (depending on the incarnation) could often best older, stronger, etc. Immortals because of heart, military experience, etc. I, too, wonder about supernatural forces. Clairvoyants like Destiny are taboo, but what about a magic user using a scrying pool to see the future? And finally, I cast my vote for the six months later topic.
My vote is Nate Grey. I thought it was going to be simple in the Dawn of X with just young Cable. But Old Cable has already shown up, so you never know what other versions might turn up as well.
@@210SAi Spoilers for Cable. But In Cable 1 and 2, Old Cable has had a few pages. It's hinted they could have been dreams by the beginning of issue 3. (But way bigger spoiler following). They dig up his dead body, or at least try to... someone else got to the body first. And has encased him in lucite... and using him as a pool table. The correspondence letters data pages between Old Cable and Deadpool are worth the cover price alone. And it seems like Stryfe is going to be the villain. This book like all Nate all the time. And just in case, stickler rebuff: Yes, I know Hickman isn't writing it specifically, but they are all long term plotting together and all the books are intertwined. ;)
Patrick J. Adie I wasn’t aware that Cable had a new title. I’ll definitely have to check those out. I just reviewed issues 1-3 and don’t get the point of the title thus far....
That Storm issue has such great potential! Can’t wait to see what the Children of The Vault have been up to as well as what happened to X-23 Darwin and Storm
Well shuma gorath also in savage avengers Which will have magik, Conan, and Doctor strange in the team Heck doctor strange recruit magik because Kulan Gath has return to bring shuma gorath into this plane of existence

Shumagorath is up to stuff in Savage Avengers right now!

Great question! I'm thinking organize the biggest questions, fill in what we have learned, and then proceed with wild and reckless speculation :)
I understand why Hickman decided to skip that as it made for a more exciting opening arc to his run but i hope in time that gap in time will be filled in at some point.
@@dantecrottogini529 I agree, it also seems like Hickman really wanted to separate his run tonally, and the space between them helps with that.
