Has anyone ran in to an issue where for some reason the stream port picks up your astro headset mic even though it's muted in the astro command center? It's extremely quiet but it still picks it up. In OBS I can see the volume indicator move in the audio line-in capture that's coming from the stream port whenever I talk through my headset mic. At first I thought who cares my external mic will over-power it but since they aren't perfectly in sync you can hear the doubling.

This would be great if the directshow plug in would even show in the source section on my obs. installed it correctly and it just doesn't show up. there are several people in the forums with the same issues, but nobody has answered on how to fix it

The chat audio that comes through your stream out port --- is that only party chat? Or is it also chat from other players in-game? I also noticed you posted on the Astro forums about having to relocate your USB location to the XBox, and that the AUX introduces a humming noise. Did you get this figured out?
Yes, the chat will come out of the Stream Out port, as long as you go into Astro Command Center and select to only output the chat audio. As for what chat that is, it will depend on what you are currently hearing. It will be exactly the same chat that you hear in your headset. If you are in Party Chat, it will be the party chat. If you are in game chat, it will be the chat of other players. As for that forum post, that was quite some time ago and if I remember correctly, that was with a little bit different of a setup, but I certainly got it figured out. This setup is the way to go for streaming your chat audio.

I'm using the hyperx cloud headset, el gato HD (the old one), mixamp pro 2013 and obs. I did everything but when I stream on obs the audio have a lag delay. when I try to shoot on black ops 3 it doesn't shoot 30 clips to 0 straight. it shoot from 30 to 28 and stopped for few seconds then 28 to 26 and keeps going on and on. Anything I missed? please help

Im getting my blue yeti in a few days. Im using obs, mixamp pro 2013, and hyperx cloud core headset or tuetle beach x12. How can i talk to my friends on party chat as well streamer(twitch) could hear us and myself talk? When i connect my headset on the mixamp and talk, the streamer could hear me talk; also i could hear my party chat but they cant hear me. When i connect my headset on my xbox one controller, i can hear and talk to my friends on party chat but streamers cant hear us unless i set the audio headset and speaker which is annoying. Is there anyway I can fix this?
This is an old video and it helped me out a few days ago actually! I was so happy about it. But now for whatever reason, my game volume is still going through to my mic/aux in my audio mixer. I have the game volume turned off completely on the stream port. Any help?

Ok I just ran into a problem with the OBS part. I have OBS in 32 and 64bit, I use the 32 because I have an elgato captured card and it only work with the 32 bit version of obs.. the Direct show plugin I installed first was the 64 and I forgot I had to download the 32bit, and i did. But now I have a problem where the plugin show up in the 32bit version of obs but when I try to put (in the source section) it doesn't give me the option. the "Directshow Audio" is not there. I'm trying to just delete the plugin but when I do. it still show up in the "plugins" tab for the 32bit version of OBS.. I don't know what else I have to delete to get rid of the plugin and just try to install it again.
the only issue I'm having so far is downloading the direct audio source plugin and that's where I've hit a wall. I'm using a PS4, Live Gamer Extreme U3, OBS. I can't seem to get the plugin to download.

When I finished a recording gameplay, I can only hear the gameplay sound, not my friends. My voice records fine. Do I connect the headset usb cable to my PC? Or on the Xbox one? Just so you know the way your blue yeti is set up you might as well be using your A40 mic. Your gain is too high so the sound quality is greatly reduced. You want to turn down the gain, get a mic stand, and have the mic closer to you so that you don't have to turn the gain up so much causing buzzing and background noise to be so prominent. Every time you dropped your hand on the desk you could hear it and you do that a lot when you talk. You need to get the mic stand for sure. You should also seriously look into getting a pop filter they're only like $7. Thanks for the tutorial though. You might not want to speed up your tutorials in the future and not drag them out so much. When someone sees a 20 minute video they're going to be reluctant to watch it when there's one that explains all they need to know in 5 minutes. Just some constructive criticism.

I copied and paste both files onto plugins for OBS but it's not showing up to add it onto one of my scenes. It does show I have it as a plugin so why isn't it showing up when I want to add it? I restarted my computer and tried both 32 bit and 64 bit versions but no luck. If anyone can help that would be great since OBS forums don't seem to be alive right now.

For some reason if I plug the 3.5mm jack into the microphone port my computer will not pick it up. If I plug it into the Elgato HD60 it will work perfectly fine. So is either way fine?

Great video and thank you, but just to make sure that i understood. If I want to use the Astros to talk to my friends and get the game audio I plug in the optical and USB cables to my Xbox (Obiously). An if I also want to get sound (like music) from my computer I plug the aux cable to the mixamp and my computer. And to record party chat I just need a 3.5 audio cable to go from the stream port into my pc mic input. After that I do all the things in the astro command center, OBS and I'm good to go!?
The Stream Port on the back of the Astro Mixamp provides an output of audio that you control. When you launch the Astro Command Center application, you can specify the balance of Game or Chat audio that is output through the Stream Port. What I do is set the Stream Port so that it is only outputting Chat audio, then run a 3.5mm audio cable from the Mixamp's Stream Port to a PC's 3.5mm microphone jack (normally pink in color). This way, the only audio coming out of the Mixamp's Stream Port is chat audio, and it is going directly into your PC's 3.5mm microphone input. Then all you need to do is add a new audio input in OBS or whatever your streaming software of choice is, and select that microphone input as the source. Then voila, you have an audio source that is solely Xbox chat volume, which you can balance as needed.
so I followed all the steps up to the point where I'm suppose to open up the OBS again and find the new plugins "DirectShow Audio Source Plugin" that I added, but there is no new plugin. I copy and pasted the files as shown so I have NO idea what happen. please help. thanks.
+Chorizo Gunz Make sure you added the correct version (32 bit or 64 bit) and installed it to the correct plugin folder. If you are still having troubles, I would recommend fully uninstalling OBS and reinstalling it to make sure you don't actually have 2 installs somewhere on your PC.
How do you have your USB mic set up? is it thu your CPU or thru your Xbox? and if it is thru your CPU how do you talk to game chat? I have a very similar setup and do my thing on Twitch as well but am having to run two mic's right now. And great vid by the way and I will fallow you on twitch under my stream name Ugunnah8this. But in the 64bit version of OBS it's fine it does let me put the directshow audio in the sources section of obs but I can't use that version because then my captured card won't work :(
+GamesofaGamer It would be hard to know the issue without seeing it in front of me. I'm guessing there may be multiple installs of OBS on you system, most likely both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions, and you may have only removed the plugin from one folder. If I were you, I would completely remove all versions of OBS, along with all plugins, and start fresh. Your settings will most likely be saved for when you uninstall. Unfortunately that's the only sure-fire way to make sure you get it all removed. Just make sure you stick with 100% 32-bit or 100% 64-bit on both program and plugin.
ok i have an hp all in one.. i stream xbox one, i use el gato hd60, astro tr mixamp, blue yeti, obs, benq monitor.. when i go to my direct audio source for the mic input it doesnt give me a mic plugin, i get inline audioo and other crap. i had it workin for game chat and audio, but my moobot music wont work...in my headset.. echoes as well.. i need help, ill pay someone to set it up right... been doin it for too long and cant get it..
hey idk if you ever figured it out but i just did. i had my mic completely disabled for my pc because i had a different one. enabled it and everything came up. hope this helps

im downloading and extracting the files correctly, however OBS doesn't recognize the Audio Plugin. any tips?

An if I also want to get sound (like music) from my computer I plug the aux cable to the mixamp and my computer. And to record party chat I just need a 3.5 audio cable to go from the stream port into my pc mic input. After that I do all the things in the astro command center, OBS and I'm good to go!?

im not following how the streamport goes into the audio for a microphone spot on the PC how is that picking up the chat audio??
The Stream Port on the back of the Astro Mixamp provides an output of audio that you control. When you launch the Astro Command Center application, you can specify the balance of Game or Chat audio that is output through the Stream Port. What I do is set the Stream Port so that it is only outputting Chat audio, then run a 3.5mm audio cable from the Mixamp's Stream Port to a PC's 3.5mm microphone jack (normally pink in color). This way, the only audio coming out of the Mixamp's Stream Port is chat audio, and it is going directly into your PC's 3.5mm microphone input. Then all you need to do is add a new audio input in OBS or whatever your streaming software of choice is, and select that microphone input as the source. Then voila, you have an audio source that is solely Xbox chat volume, which you can balance as needed.

i did all the steps and i cant seem to get my game chat to play through still.
so I followed all the steps up to the point where I'm suppose to open up the OBS again and find the new plugins "DirectShow Audio Source Plugin" that I added, but there is no new plugin. I copy and pasted the files as shown so I have NO idea what happen. please help. thanks.
+Chorizo Gunz Make sure you added the correct version (32 bit or 64 bit) and installed it to the correct plugin folder. If you are still having troubles, I would recommend fully uninstalling OBS and reinstalling it to make sure you don't actually have 2 installs somewhere on your PC.
How do you have your USB mic set up? is it thu your CPU or thru your Xbox? and if it is thru your CPU how do you talk to game chat? I have a very similar setup and do my thing on Twitch as well but am having to run two mic's right now. And great vid by the way and I will fallow you on twitch under my stream name Ugunnah8this. Everytime I go to download the plug in from OBS it comes up as a rar file instead of a zip folder. Any tips to help me out?
what are the other ports used for on the mixamp?
My MIXAMP dont work PC mode, i press power button 3 second and nothing happens.
So this only works with the TR mixamp?

But in the 64bit version of OBS it's fine it does let me put the directshow audio in the sources section of obs but I can't use that version because then my captured card won't work :(
+GamesofaGamer It would be hard to know the issue without seeing it in front of me. I'm guessing there may be multiple installs of OBS on you system, most likely both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions, and you may have only removed the plugin from one folder. If I were you, I would completely remove all versions of OBS, along with all plugins, and start fresh. Your settings will most likely be saved for when you uninstall. Unfortunately that's the only sure-fire way to make sure you get it all removed. Just make sure you stick with 100% 32-bit or 100% 64-bit on both program and plugin.

ok i have an hp all in one.. i stream xbox one, i use el gato hd60, astro tr mixamp, blue yeti, obs, benq monitor.. when i go to my direct audio source for the mic input it doesnt give me a mic plugin, i get inline audioo and other crap. i had it workin for game chat and audio, but my moobot music wont work...in my headset.. echoes as well.. i need help, ill pay someone to set it up right... been doin it for too long and cant get it..
hey idk if you ever figured it out but i just did. i had my mic completely disabled for my pc because i had a different one. enabled it and everything came up. hope this helps
