Trust me.. Use to own one.. you do not hear engine noise on the road with this bike it is silent.. all you hear is a little wind, but the front shield give so much protection to the wind and elements it is just a wonderful ride!
@@jaybyrd5556 Oil change is easy enough. Never had to do much more then that. I got a BMW scooter now. in the shop. Fork seals leaking due to rock damage to the forks. Need two new fork cylinders but can only afford one.
"As you can hear, it's a really quiet, smooth-running motorcycle" You can say that again. When you put it in gear all I heard was Muzak. How do they do that?
i miss my silverwing. i bought it brand new in 2007. unfortunately my bastard husband was unwilling to transport it when we moved from new york to texas for unknown reasons.
Why didn't you just hop on, and ride it along to Texas behind him ? That's what I would have done. I myself have a 1987 Honda Helix, but it's currently in the shop at the moment getting some TLC.
If you weren't the type of woman that calls her husband a bastard, 1. He would be willing to transport it, and 2. He would let you know the reasons for moving to Texas..
For a minute I thought that was my bike. Same year and color same tiny scratches and the lady who owned it before replaced it with a spider. Except I bought mine for 2100 with right around 3 thousand miles on it.
SeabasR yea but those singapore built bikes are having lots of failures on engines post on the forums, I would Not buy any of the new Honda 500 bikes to many failures and problems in manufacturing and assembly of the CB500F CBR500 and CB500X, I would Much rather have the Reliable Silverwing than the 500 and its failure in manufacturing, and quality
Excuse me, but just because Scooters are fully automatic, with no shifting involved, does not mean that they are not motorcycles, as a matter of fact, here in Delaware, any bike that is more than 50 CC in engine size, and capable of speeds greater than 25 MPH is considered a full fledged motorcycle, and the rider MUST CARRY INSURANCE, AND MUST ALSO HAVE A MOTORCYCLE ENDORSEMENT ON THEIR LICENSE !!!!!
@@garthks As a person who has both, a Scooter is a Scooter and a Motorcycle is a motorcycle. Both require the same license... so what? Just like a truck and car are different. But require the same license. It's about the physical style. The truck has a truck bed for loading cargo and a tailgate. A scooter has a "step-through" design. Scooters are cool. Lots of Vespa Scooters in Europe. But they are NOT motorcycles. And that's just fine. Generally motorcycles require more skill and ability to operate. Plenty of former Motorcycle riders who are injured and can no longer operate the clutch or esp the gear shifter with left foot buy large Scooters. So they can still continue to enjoy open air riding.
I had a Spyder RTS reverse Trike. I hated it with a passion, sold it a year later It was CRAPPY!!! period. what a waste of Money they are JUNK!!! I would Much rather have a Silverwing Much better bike. So you are saying Tripod I'm thinking you don't Know anything about Bikes, and are referring to center stand.
