Good reaction this is a movie you definitely can watch twice. I used to play with toy cars when I was a kid and this movie definitely reminds me of that, this movie for me is right up there with toy story 3.
Doc’s part in this movie was done entirely with unused archive recordings of Paul Newman from the first movie. I can’t think of a bigger tribute to both the actor and the character. So glad they didn’t replace him but so glad to see him again. 💖
You do know they are replacing Paul Newman for the upcoming Cars:On The Road series, right.?
They did the same thing for Mr. Potato Head from Toy Story 4.
@@morganspider-manmarvelfan6110 I mean, I get it. They did the same for Filmore in this movie. It’s something that just happens in the animation industry. But I am glad that they made the effort in this movie out of tribute since the story really does focus more on Doc’s legacy.

I remember when everyone lost their shit when they saw that teaser trailer. It still gives me chills to this day.
The way the teaser had people crying
I still remember watching it and just gasping. My jaw hit the ground. All I could say was "Oh my gosh. What just happened?"
Pixar had us in a chokehold FOR MONTHS!
I mean it was honestly a pretty bold move to make that teaser with one of their biggest moneymaking franchises, featuring one of their biggest moneymaking characters getting absolutely wrecked and leaving it on that cliffhanger.
Then the movie came out and no one saw it.
I cried when I first saw this. Just the emotion, seeing how much Doc meant to Lightning, how much Lightning meant to Doc and the impact they had on each other was just beautiful. Seeing the letters Smokey got from Doc after so many years, all of them pictures and newspaper clippings of him and lightning, and watching the flashbacks of them hit me in the feels. Hard!
Honestly for as big of a franchise these movies has become to sell toys to kids, the message of this one seems more directed towards adults than kids - which I give them SERIOUS credit for. It’s a message kids would not be able to really get until they’re older. And the reveal of Smokey’s garage wall……yeah, I cried.
Yeah because we were all kids when cars came out and now we are grown up.
It feels similar to toy story in some ways, 😂 because I myself am going to be moving out and seeing woodey leave his friends was sad. Literally my childhood both franchise.

I felt this one was much better than the second one. This one had the emotional heart we know and love from PIXAR. =)
My favorite part. I loved the third one, especially because it deals with some of the struggles with racing. When McQueen said he decides when it is over, I do understand that but in most cases it is more like the time when the other car said that the rookies show you when it is over. I watched F1 for about 20 years so I saw a lot of drivers come and go
Yeah I remember that happening to vettel with Charles. Same will happen to Lewis with George shit I think in some ways it was the with Michael and alonso.
My family actually has a place in the area that Thomasville is supposed to emulate (which is indeed where stock car racing originated with the moonshine runners!) and honestly, when I saw the area in the scene where Lightning is trying to het Cruz to go with him, I was like “……I KNOW this place!!” 😆 They captured the area amazingly!

I had the exact same problem with Cars 2. It did not feel like a continuation of the the story. That's the while purpose of a sequel. This one is more of what I expected out of a second film in this franchise.
The big problem with the second one, is that the title is misleading. Mater got his "Mater's Tall Tales" short films, and the second one is basically a movie length "Tall Tales", but by calling it "Cars 2" it creates a certain expectation, that it is a continuation of the first movie, when in fact it's not. I believe that's why the second gets so much hate.

As for me, the third film can be passed off as a full-fledged sequel (albeit not completely perfect). A pinch of Rocky, a little Third Creed and that's the finale. When I first went to the cinema for a triquel, I sat in suspense to the last, what decision Lightning would make.
yeah I pretend the second one doesn't exist or is just a Mater spin off. Cars 3 is one of the best and feels more like an actual sequel

Docs death is based off of Paul Newman's real life death. This movie was a tribute to him.
I wish he didn’t have to die cause I think we all would’ve liked to see more moments between Doc and Lightning. Especially mentor to mentee moments

I really love Pixar's Cars 3 (2017). It is a great movie of Pixar's Cars Trilogy of this animated movie franchise.
Cars 3 is easily the best one. It’s concluded the car franchise in a descent way. It felt more thematic rich than the first one and especially “the other one”. I like how they change their mind about racing one of them becomes a new racer and the other becomes a mentor.

People need to realise that reactions are exactly that, reactions. Like they WILL vary from person to person, it feels personal because they love the character, and I get it cause I used to get upset when people didn't like the things or characters I did too. People need to accept that not everyone is going to enjoy what they themselves enjoy. It's just life, sucky sometimes but 🤷🏻♀️
20:23 haha yeah "warshed" is actually something people from certain areas say instead of washed! i think its kind of an old fashioned thing, but its definitely still around. it's called an intrusive R sound. i mostly remember it used in the word "wash" by my mamaw, but there are other words that also get that extra R in there. like "idea" --> "idear"
i hear it where im from (the appalachian mountain region of the US), but i think other places have it too.

i know people like cruise but tbh she should have made the speed cap like 150 or something and given him realistic speeds to see where he was at since he was legit racing 4 months ago and should have showed him how to use the simulator when he had asked in the first place
When I first saw this in theaters, I didn’t like it because of the bad breaks Lightning McQueen was going through. But after watching this reaction, it made me realize that the moral of the story is sometimes you gotta pass the crown to someone else, especially if they’re worthy of living up to your legacy. But I still say that the first two films in the “Cars” trilogy are the best

It's okay if you don't like Mater. It's perfectly alright to not lile every character, even if that character is a fan favorite. It's like the Minons from the Despicable Me movies. Some people love them some people hate them. But if you still enjoy the movies in the end that is what matters.
I remember the trailer for this movie... and it was all just a slowed version of Lightining spinning through the air during his crash. It was probably one of the most "omg" trailers I'd seen at the time. But when I got to see it in theaters I had so much fun, even if the crash moment was intense. But I remember enjoying this movie the most out of the 3. It feels the most intense and epic to me as well as the amazing visuals as you pointed out.
I think the oddest part for me was how on earth Chic Hicks ever got a television spot that people actually watch. Like everyone hated him at the end of the first movie and while sure he got the money from winning, how did he ever get picked up by television for people willing to watch lol.
Imagine if Pixar will make Cars 4 focus on Cruz Ramirez as a new main protagonist, it'll be awesome.
If anything i think Cars 4 will be a prequel, but honestly i think theyre done with the movies. Now its all about DIsney+ shows, "Cars on the road" is coming soon.

I'm really happy to see you enjoyed this one! I'll never forget the day I saw it in theatres the day it was released. While the first two are my faves, I still loved this one and related to Cruz and Lightning. This is a Pixar film that’s a return to form by bringing Cars back to its roots.
I loved this movie too, glad you liked it. I love how they came around with McQueen following in Doc's shoes, especially the color change at the end.

Cars 3 is a great movie , no doubt about that , but my favourite one in the trilogy is definitely Cars 1 , and i don' t like Cars 2 , because it' s extremely focus on Tow Mater ( i like Tow Mater , he' s very funny , but he' s not the main character , you know .. )
I’d really recommend watching the Plane’s movie because it expands a little into the world from the Cars movies but with planes!! Another great reaction Nick!!
I understood what you meant in the Cars 2 commentary, you explained it very well. It helps that I wasn't really attached to it, but even if I had been, you're honesty was fine.
I like how they made it so you could skip the second and still enjoy this one. I liked the second, but I also like that first and third don't really need it to exist.

Now, I know that McQueen accepted that his getting old but it's gonna be fun if an older generation can still keep up and beat the newer ones not accepting the fate and pushing to the utmost limit.
Or just create a Cars 4 where they bring Prime McQueen to race with the newer generation, kinda like time traveling.

I love all the cars movies ever since I was a kid and till now
in other topics, if there is ONE HIDDEN GEM THAT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, is one unique animated film from a prominent animator in spain named Enrique Gato (in a similar way to Nick Park), and that is CAPTURE THE FLAG, one of the best non disney animated i have ever seen since the iron giant and chicken RUN when i first watched it in 2016 (originally released in 2015), although not necessarily 100% perfect, it is still very well crafted in its own right that deserved the spanish academy award (goya) for best animated film., interesting topics, arent they, though i wonder if you can manage to see the mentioned recommendation anytime soon since it is even a very under estimated non disney animated film?
Everyone thinks that this is the third and final CARS movie, but never say never say never, a fourth film might be in it theaters soon.
Considering that Cars 3 didn’t perform that well at the box office compared to the first two films ($152.9M domestically and $383.9M worldwide on a $175M budget), I don’t think a fourth film is possible. I know it makes its money through the lucrative merchandising, but it’s numbers probably wasn’t what Disney or Pixar was expecting.
There’s actually going to be a new show on Disney+, which I would very much rather have than another film, to be honest.

My personal rating for cars is cars 8/10, cars 2 6/10, cars 3 8/10
I may just like this one better than the first, and it had some serious spine to tackle the message it did. Major props to them for for that.
A small bit about the last race... Originally, they apparently had a VERY different idea for how things would proceed, and... Let me say first that I DO like what we got, but I can't help feeling the original plan would have been even better.
Originally, it would have been revealed before the race that Sterling was tracking both Lightning's and Cruz's performance numbers and such via their suits during their training trip. And after comparing the two, Sterling would decide on the spot to give Lightning's racing number to Cruz and put her in the race instead. A very "ripping off the band-aid" sort of moment but ultimately Sterling sees it as the best thing for Lightning even if it means cutting out their deal. But then afterward, while Lightning would be in the middle of explaining what just happened to his friends, he'd receive a surprise visitor...
Remember that Lightning still had an offer on the table at the end of the first movie? Well, in the unused pre-race scene Tex shows up and effectively brings that full-circle. That's right; after all that time, Lightning would FINALLY end up racing for Dinoco. Exactly what happens from there is anybody's guess; my assumption is that both Cruz and Lightning would end up beating Storm but Cruz would still (probably) place first and Lightning would be the one to do the Doc flip. A lot of details are kinda up in the air since before the race was as far as they went with the whole concept before switching to what we got, but I feel like the original idea would have been better and less "cliche-last-minute-twisty" than Lightning simply winning with Cruz by default because of a number.
You should react to Kubo and the two strings (2016), its an amazing stop motion movie.
I must say I'm glad this movie retcons cars 2. I loved this back in 17.
Hello Nick! How wonderful! You already watched the complete trilogy of Cars. The truth is that this last installment made me feel very nostalgic and sad, knowing that Doc Hudson's voice actor passed away and that for this reason, the character no longer reappeared in the movies and that now Lightning Mcqueen is Cruz Ramírez's trainer and she is the runner now. I recommend that you watch Monsters Inc (2001) now if you haven't seen it yet. Take good care Nick and I'll see you in his next reaction.

Honestly this was absolutely way better than the second one which I did enjoy just at the same time really felt like a filler the first was extremely good and the third was just so fantastic of a story from one champion passing the torch so to speak great reaction man and you are so spot on about the movies
It’s because of this film, the studio allowed the use of unused dialogue from voice actors that died before they could record. For example, the late Paul Newman had unused lines that were used for new scenes featuring his character Doc Hudson.
Toy Story 4 followed that with Don Rickles’ own unused dialogue for Mr. Potato Head.

I second that notion! Onward is easily in my top 5 and one of my favorite movies (in regards to Pixar and non Pixar). I know he already has seen Zootopia but I still want a reaction cause I know it’ll be so entertaining :)
I knew that you might like Cars 3 over Cars 2 . I know you got some flack for not liking Cars 2 as much. I understood why. I felt the same. Mater was a favorite among the kids. That is why he was more of a focus in cars 2. Cars 3 seemed to be a good ending from the first Cars movie, my thought. Continue to have honest reactions and it is okay if you don't like some videos. Be yourself, right?
What a great way to wrap up the trilogy enjoy all three films glad that I grew up with films like this
I love the original or this one would not exist. Though cars 3 comes close. Missed Doc in cars 2, so I loved the flashbacks especially the one from the first movie. You can also check out the animated shorts "Mater's tall tales", "Mater and the Ghost Light", "Tales from Radiator Springs", and two from "pixar popcorn". The series will continue this fall in a animated series on Disney Plus called "Cars on the Road."

This is the best Cars movie by far, it had so much heart! In all honesty I haven’t seen the second one but I feel like even if I did, the third would still be my fav.
Even better than Cars in my humble opinion are the Planes movies, they had a lot of heart too, especially “Fire And Rescue.” I doubt it’ll ever get enough votes, I never hear anyone talk about the Planes movie, but if by some chance you ever do see them, you might really enjoy!
What i actually think you are getting kind of wrong as to how i understood it, is that mcqueen in fact didn't completely retire - he said he would still race and I think he maybe just will do it with cruz or just also try it
But maybe also I did misunderstand that, but actually I like that he doesn't completely retire because it says you yourself should say when it's time to and no one other
And at the same time they gave him a new purpose - I think the combination of both makes this ending so satisfying and great :)

If there's one minor complaint I have with this film, it's that they missed a golden opportunity with Jackson. Think about it, he's literally Lightning from the beginning of the first film. They could have done something with that, but they don't even acknowledge it. The major one I have is that the ending is kind of a huge cop-out.

The second one was okay, I personally like Mater so I didn’t have a problem with a storyline mainly about him but I do understand it didn’t feel like a sequel, it felt like Mater’s movie.
This one however, does feel like a sequel and I love it! McQueen becoming Cruz’s pit chief and the dedications towards Doc warms my heart! I think this was a great way to end the series!

cars 3 is such a cool movie to me haha i remember being excited to watch it. i like every of those movies for their differences!
I would love to see you react to the movie "Two brothers". It's an adorable movie that is equal parts enchanting, heart-wrenching, and heart warming. It follows two brother tiger cubs as they are separated and grow up. The movie features a young Freddy Highmore. I really think you'd love it. I had to replace my DVD of it because I watched it so much, it and Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron are tied from my childhood favorites.
OH MY GOSH STOP! I HAVE TWO BROTHERS ON DVD TOO! I LOVE THAT MOVIE! It almost feels like a fever dream because everytime I mention it to people they have no clue what I’m talking about. Very rarely (if at all) do people bring it up. I remember my dad went shopping with my mom, I was under the age of 8, my aunt (who was my dad’s sister) was babysitting me, and my dad came home with both Two Brothers and Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron. He said he got Spirit for me cause I loved horses, and two brothers for us since we both loved tigers. And this was back in the era of the flip phone razor and the sidekick, and the coolest newest thing was a combo VHS and DVD player, so it’s not like he looked up a trailer to see what the plots of the movie were- he just bought them both on DVD off chance based on the covers.

@@AdamIshak01 I did. I saw Spirit when it first came out in theaters but I found two brothers in a discount movie bin at a store and pulled it out not knowing what it was either lol.

Maybe I don’t understand something, but why do cars of different generations and structures compete in races? (in the beginning of the movie)
You don’t ever have to compromise your opinion just cause others don’t like it! There are some movies other people rave about that I couldn’t care less about 😂 and probably vice verse...
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
I know from my friends who watched cars, Mater was always our favourite character, so it’s different hearing about people not liking Mater... which is fine, we all have different preferences. 😅

I remember the teaser trailer for Cars 3. I was silent and I did see it coming when Lightning McQueen made his final chapter of the race
Man, i still remember in the final race, when cruz jump over storm, the cinema just go crazy, everyone gets of their seats to happly clap and screen, i cried a lot im this movie rsrs, the only one i seen on cinema, as i have seen the other two in dvd, the best experience i had ever!, greetings from brazil ;)

Definitely loved this movie. A true sequel to the first movie no doubt.
This one is my kids' favorite by a long shot. I still prefer 2, and am not a fan of the series in general, but this one has grown on me due to my kids' love for it.
Unlike the first movie, Chick Hicks isn't voiced by Michael Keaton but by long Pixar employee Bob Peterson, who co-directed Finding Nemo and Up and does the voices for Roz in Monsters Inc, University and At Work (plus voicing Roz' sister Rosie), Mr. Ray in Finding Nemo and Dory and Dug in Up and Dug Days. He was also started directing The Good Dinosaur but was replaced by Peter Sohn due to struggeling with the story for the film (similiarly to Brad Bird replacing Jan Pinkava for Ratatouille except Pinkava got co-director credit due to several story elements got into the final film). While no official story have been tod the reason of recast, it can be assumed that Keaton was unavailable when Cars 3 went into production.
Yeah I also felt the same way that maybe mater was getting too much screen time but cars 3 is almost all lightning McQueen so it evens itself out
As a huge fan of NASCAR I loved the first movie as a kid the 2nd was such a huge let down for me I was so happy when they went back to the NASCAR theme for this one loved watching it in theaters I was just 7 years old when the first Cars came out and then watched this one at 18 years old

Besides the ending we got, it was nice. But what would have been cool was McQueen eventually marring Sally and having kids naming one of em after doc
This one was SO much better than 2, and I think I'd have to agree with it being my favorite of the series.
No, don't worry. I also think it was a big mistake to focus on Mater for the sequel. So much so that there isn't a single hint of the second movie in the 3rd one. As though it never existed.
