With the modding tools you currently have, to what extent would you theoretically be able to, rather than cloning Walter, modify his abilities? For example, increasing the amount of projectiles, their range, their speed, give them additional effects, allow Walter to chain-cast several attacks… Or even give him entirely new moves? I feel like what Lament of Innocence (and Curse of Darkness) would really need, rather than new tools for the player, is improved skillsets for the bosses. The lack of "hellish" boss attacks, aside maybe from the Shinigami's "deadly tempest" attack, is what really holds the game back, in my humble opinion. Bosses don't feel threatening enough, once you know how their skills work. As a result, both Walter and Dracula are a bit anticlimactic.
I cannot create new moves, I did however change two bosses in CoD. If you haven't watched them, then they're Merciless Germain and Enraged Dullahan on Enhanced Curse. Those two vids should give you an idea of what I can do to bosses. In general: speed, autocancelling, faints, chain-casting are doable
@@gian2074 I understand. Thank you. I suppose those speed improvements wouldn't necessarily suit Walter / Dracula so well, since they're supposed to feel powerful rather than fast.
I am moreso experimenting for now, nothing too serious. Mostly doing this because there's a rando in the works. Since I'm stumbling into other interesting things in the meanwhile, I'm also trying to change some other stuff like mechanics and enemy spawns to see what the game would look like. Just with move cancelling it feels 3x better. Will 100% make an Enhanced Lament after Enhanced Curse's got its rando and Trevor mode
@@gian2074 I love Castlevania. I'm playing Curse of Darkness in these days for the first time because i never had the possibility to buy it when i was young. Now the ps2 emulator work almost perfectly i will play many wonderful games. Anyway Lament of Innocent will be my first and my favorite Castlevania ever. I love so much the characters and the atmosphere. The plot twist with Mathias evil shocked me when i was child, one of the best villain ever. (Walter is amazing too).
That is how i imagine every Belmont fighting, absolute badass
Yes! Lament of Innocence getting some love.
Why this feels funner than the twin Draculas? Amazing!
Looks great
