Thank you for this content and to contact I have a problem with the carrier u660e Avalon when the carrier is cold everything works smoothly but when it heats up it goes smooth and gets delayed in D I checked and an error P2714 and p0796 appeared. They told me that the internal piston is leaking oil and the pressure is low now I get a vibration when it heats up also when starting the oil and the filter is new also please help me.
Hi Master, thanks for your sharing your gold knowledge for others. My question is camry 2ar fe with u760e is running now about 230 000 miles but there's no problem at all with it. How do you think should I open and check all parts and do repairs?
I'm having problems with the C2 piston, it engages but doesn't hold pressure like the C1 piston does when you release the compressor trigger. I'm not sure if it's normal for C2 to disengage when air is not being applied continuously. I put in new pistons and sealing rings. It also hisses but engages.
Hi will you do case air check on B1,B2,C1,C2 etc after assembly. i am a new bie trying to make this one out. I also assume you install all clutch pack dry..not wet bcz there is not much difference.
Yes I air check them. I get this question all the time. No, I have never seen a difference between soaking them and not. If you need a diagram for air check ports, go to my Instagram and I can send it to you there.
Hi appreciate if you can asnwer below 3 questions. when u rebuild the transmission, 1.will you changet balance piston along wtih steel plate. 2. pls provide me the website where u order parts. 3. will you replace oil pump stator bearing and bushing. 4. I bought ATGS manual and compared with your videos for 3 hours. Man you nailed it. I rebuild engine, planning to do transmission sooner. what i dont know is manual says replace and check bushings, bearing etc. in engine i know, but in transmission i dont know .. do you have any video that shows worn needle bearing and busihng.
Yes, you need to change all the molded pistons. If you want to change the steels also, oreder a master kit with pistons. The bushing in the pump, yes, bearing hardly ever. Sonnax makes a bearing kit for it. Put it in. You can get it the same place as the kit. WIT or Transtar, Links are in the description. No I don't have a video, sorry. www.sonnax.com/parts/4905-bearing-kit www.sonnax.com/parts/4898-rear-cover-bearing
@@CurmudgeonTransmission Thanks so much. Final 2 questions. 1. Does the overahul kit has all lip seals. 2. what brand of torque converter is good equivalent to OEM. if you can name few that will be great. 3. does it matter to use OEM ATF fluid vs after market synthetic Thanks a lot.
Hi where do u get service manual for entire aasembly reason why i am asking is, in case of engine, alldata or mitchell gives entire assembly instrustciotn like piston ring gpa, bearing clearance , order of installation etc.. but seeems like for transmission they dont go in depth becasue dealer or manufacturuer doesnt explain things. any tips is appreciated. I also get addicted to your videos.
Thanks. ATRA and ATSG have books on it. Links are in the description. Once you get to the website, ATSG has a book store tab. ATRA is I believe marketplace.
@@CurmudgeonTransmission Thanks much. I see that you use a kind of quick melting grease to put torque converter seal to keep the spring from falling off. What kind is that please.
Hi I was told in Toyota transmission when I remove electrical connector on TCM, reverse and 3rd gear will work, is this true for all Toyota transmission and others like Honda
Some it will. You just have to look at an apply chart for the transmission you are working on. Whatever gear that all the solenoids are off will be what it is when unplugged. Some will be 3rd, could be 4th or something else. Some transmissions will use a solenoid for reverse now, so if it does you will not have reverse with it unplugged. Some have an internal neutral switch as well and need that for reverse. You will have the same issue then as well.
@@CurmudgeonTransmission Thanks so much. Can I use Valvoline maxlife ATF fluid for Toyota or i have to stick with OEM. also is it a mandate on using OEM fluid for ATF for other transmission as well. please give me your thought process.
hello Tom, that was a fantastic piece of work there, just a quick one please, that small little hole u drilled and blocked, please my question is why did you block it and before it was blocked what was the function of the little hole. thanks.
I have no pressure in the transmission before a transmission cooler issues, can get the fuel pump anywhere? I think that it could be the problem, what do you think?
Thanks for a great video! I have two questions, how many miles on this Camry and what were the symptoms. Additionally, how reliable are these Sonnax kits? Thanks, Mike.
Man, I don't remember how many miles were on it. These trannies have 2 big problem areas. One is the bearing that sits on top of the transfer gear under the pump. Likes to come apart and does a fair amount of damage when it does. The other big problem area is the valve body. How much damage is done is determined by how long it is driven afterwards. Symptoms include harsh shifts, up and down. Slips, flairs, probably some others that are not coming to mind right now. There are usually codes stored in the system as well. hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

Big hands and rebuilding a transmission this boi is a good boy😊

this channel is gold just nobody knows about it
Thanks.
What is the brand of this rebuild kit?
you have your steels stack up upside down on the c2 clutch pack. thick goes first then thin on top
You are correct. If you had continued watching you would have seen that is what I ended up doing.

Usually those codes are because of the pistons. They should be replaced on every build.

It's normal to lose some air. Those sealing rings they use are not the best for air checking. They work under oil pressure. I think you will be ok.

@sivucit It's Dr. Tranny (Lubegard). I believe in this video it was the gold. It's not available anymore. Thinnest is the red now.

A bad pump is one reason for no pressure.
Is there anyway to know which one is solenoid B on the valve body? Any position?
PCS-B also known as SL2 is a large canister solenoid, closest to the small canister solenoids by the manual valve.
great video , big help on my first unit
Glad I could help
