This help me a lot watching you disassemble the B1 and B3 clutches. I had my very first U760E down for months trying to get a pump from my supplier. I'm in the Virgin Islands so sometimes it's a bit difficult to get certain parts. Finally got it today, but I needed that refreshing on reassembling the clutch pack.
i got 2016 rav4 u760e that without warning just let go at around 45mph, it has 87,000 miles, no gears at all, pulled it out and fluid looks perfect, magnets are nearly clean, pulled the back off and c1 c2 clutches are in spec, never rebuilt one before, any idea what might have happened? maybe torque converter failed? just looking for a direction, thanks
@@CurmudgeonTransmission thanks for responding, splines in tc look perfect, no tranny codes either, you would think there would be some signs of metal in the pan but this thing is clean, i'll keep digging thanks
Ran across a bulletin about the TC. Where the input shaft splines into it it is snapping off and just spins freely causing a no move condition. Try putting the shaft in it and see how it feels.
@@CurmudgeonTransmission i cant find any mechanical damage what so ever, all clutch packs are in spec, splines are all good, pump looks perfect, could there be a soleniod or something in the valve body preventing any engagement? im stumped.
I have the 660A in my Sienna. Going to be rebuilding it myself. I own my own shop, but this is the first trans I am rebuilding. What company do you use to rebuild that case?
We get ours from WIT, I am not sure if they do it or someone does it for them. Probably someone else. Hardest part about this unit is getting the pump and that drum stacked up properly so your clearance comes out right. Pay extreme attention to how it was together. If one little thing is not right it will not come out right. Replace your bearings, Sonnax sells the whole bearing kit. The one on top of the transfer gear under the pump is the worst about blowing up. Have had fairly good success with the zip kit from Sonnax for the valve body but the real way to go is a new one and is what I would suggest. Use factory fluid they tend to have shudders if you don't.
What's the weak point of the U760E? 2013 RAV4 had chunks in the pan after experience jerking and P0776. Currently waiting on estimate from the shop for new or used replacement. mileage estimate is 135,000 and had a drain and fill done less than 2 months ago.
There is a bearing that comes apart in the front section, sits on top of the bearing that is in the front case, which is also bad about wearing out the case. Then it just depends on what it took out with it. Valve bodies are also always worn out. They are not a cheap unit, even before the price of everything going through the roof.
There are about 5 different transmissions that could be in there. Also I have not been on the pricing end of it in a long time and the way everything has gone up in price it would be hard to say anyways. BTW I don't own the shop, I just work here. Look on the tag in the door jamb and it will tell you which transmission is in there. It will be at the bottom to the right.
Like I said I have not done the pricing in a long time so I don't have a clue, but I would geuss somewhere in the high 3000 to high 4000. Depending on the damage.
finally a transmission channel that does not do only a few types of transmission..
Rebuild video will be up later today. Thanks for watching.

Glad it helped, thanks for watching.
Is it possible to remove bellhousing to change the pump on u760e? Or do you have to go all the way through the Trans like you did?
Just remove the bell housing and you will have access to the pump.
Have you seen an issue if you don’t put the snap rings back in the correct clock position?
Have not tried. Some are not as critical as they make out. Some are, like the ones on the back of the pump. Are you having an issue?

Check the splines in the tc. Not as common on this one, but it may have stripped.

I am leaning towards a tc problem.

Any plans on doing a UB80E video?
@@NguyenAdam1992 If one ever comes in.
SEVERELY!
Do you know why toyota has different part numbers for.the same unit
What part numbers are you referring to? There are 4 different units, a U660E and F U760E and F.
I have 2014 RAV4 how much is going cost for you to rebuild the transmission thank lot

@@CurmudgeonTransmission ok thank you for your information
Seems this is the video of how to do this the most difficult and messy way.
Someone should have changed their transmission fluid a long time ago.
