Man, those turbolifts move fast. As I understand, there's something called the inertial dampener that not only helps keep the crew from becoming red chunky smears all over the bulkheads when the ship goes into impulse, or worse, warp speed, but it also helps prevent those traveling in the turbolifts from being thrown about. There was one scene in TNG, where I think it was in Contagion, where the Enterprise is affected by this alien computer virus, and it's messing with all sorts of systems, and Geordi needs to get onto the bridge fast in order to tell them to destroy the probe before it further infects the ship. So he gets into the turbolift, and is thrown about because there's no inertial dampeners in there, and when he reaches the bridge, he's literally thrown out onto it.

They're supposed to be these force fields that sort of prevent you from being flung around when the ship moves. If the ship fires its impulse engines, the sheer force of that could kill everyone. If you've ever seen Forbidden Planet, there's a scene at the beginning of the film, before they land on Altair, that the ship has to slow down to be able first to approach Altair. They stand in these spots, and then this force field surrounds them as the ship slows down from light speed. Fun fact about that: Those very spots they use are what Star Trek would use in the Transporter; they just flipped things upside down.
this makes me wish for a sorta realistic star trek sim game where you just do normal starfleet things instead of the fate of the galaxy in every mission like Star Trek Online. Just fly around do various science stuff, carry cargo out to colonies, occasionally assist with the odd minor crisis.
Yeah it would be interesting to see an episode like that. Maybe a whole series where they just kind of do normal stuff but showing the inner workings of Starfleet and the Federation.

Gotta admit. I like the schematic better than the actual model. The model appears to have the nacelles slanted down from front to rear. This schematic makes the nacelles look level to the saucer.
Okuda is an artistic genius to come up with "Okudagrams" and these layouts. I think ships as they get smarter (with internal censors, a.i. and self-diagnostic scanners) will eventually need to have these kinds of real-time display readouts.
How many variations of the 'Enterprise-E' are being featured here, again?... I had to take screen-shots after a while because I got confused & mostly selected this video just so I could fall asleep to it at the end of the night because the noise is calming.

The only place I know with a good source for Star Trek legacy ambient noises is the Star Trek Generations soundtrack, which has a few. But I'd really like to find more. Do you know any more sources, any other CDs with ambient Star Trek noises (from TNG, DS9, VOY etc.)? Thanks!

Hate to point this out but you haven’t incorporated the actual proper noise from the E; you’ve just used the old track from the D with a few bits from DS9 thrown in. The E bridge ambiance sounds very similar to the Defiant.

This one is a mixture of the Enterprise-E from the movies Star Trek: Insurrection & Star Trek: Nemesis. The ship's design was updated in the latter movie.
