The video was shot by Terence Donovan, a very well known fashion photographer. The girls, who were all models working in London at the time, didn't know each other but have remained in touch to this day. They all went on to carve successful careers in different fields.
The five models in the video are Julie Pankhurst (keyboard), Patty Kelly (guitar), Mak Gilchrist (bass guitar), Julia Bolino (guitar), and Kathy Davies (drums).
I recall Robert talking about the making of that video - they all gathered at the studio at around 6 AM for the models to be ready for 8AM, and then it was about 14 hours to get everything.
True story: Prince is backstage one day in the 80's and asks a random girl what music she likes lately, the girl responds, "I like that new Robert Palmer song." Prince says, "you like that?!" Girl, "Yes!" And Prince says "..I could do that." And that's why he recorded U Got The Look, complete with synth heavy guitar chords backing the melody, just like Robert Palmer..
Evidently you haven't watched enough of these video reactions they can only do a song that a hundred people has done you can not do a new song that nobody has done that is that is a major sin a major crime and it does not
That's why I quit watching this people because there's no originality not any of them anybody that does these instead of Dunn's a new song by group they'll be number two hundred or two hundred and one what 200 people's already done before them instead of playing a different song
.When this song came out I remember that it was the number one song all over the planet in countries like Japan, England, Russia, Argentina, The Caribbean, Africa, Canada, Australia and in the U.S. it was number one for weeks. The album with this song got nominated for album of the year. This song even had women in the clubs here in New York City dressing like the models in this video !!!! I remember that. I remember laughing so hard when when came into the clubs with the red lipstick, their hair slicked back and the tight dresses. LOL !!!!!!! Man I miss those days !!!
Robert Palmer died from a sudden heart attack in a Paris hotel room on 26 September 2003 at age 54. A quiet man in his personal life, Palmer was uninterested in most of the excesses of the rock 'n' roll lifestyle, although he was a very heavy tobacco user who smoked as many as 60 cigarettes a day.
All the people that does these videos think about it they all got to do the same song they cannot do the power station because they had their assigned number 50 and 51 they got to be like Fifty other people before them they can't be original nobody is original that does these videos so these two songs by Robert Palmer will be it he's got he's had some albums albums but two songs has all he's allowed by these video
They're models, he used them a few times but they give that look known as the "runway look" cool, detached ,it looks anything but and that's deliberate and it works. He's amazing, starting in 1974, look up "Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley" and he gets better after that, "Every Kinda People", "Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor)", "Simply Irresistible", in the 80's he was in a super group The Power Station with former Chic drummer Tony Thompson and half of Duran Duran, guitarist Andy Taylor and bassist John Taylor and they had a few hits "Bang a Gong" and "Some like it Hot", plenty of other great stuff you'll have to take a dive, the epitome of cool, if James Bond was a musician, he'd be Robert Palmer. Sadly he passed away in 2003 from a heart attack.
Yeah you're dreaming there he's only got two songs that people is going to react to and that's it no no third one can can go to our Nanny video reaction just two songs that's all they're allowed they got to be instead of being the first on the new song they got to be number two hundred on an old one
This is why I quit watching the stupid stuff it's all every thing that is being done has been done before no originality not any at all in any of them they're all just peed and
When you get to Toma and Conditions of My Parole, there's live versions from "tonight shows" that are really good. The Paul Shaffer synth solo is a must see. There's also a live Carina Round version of Rev 22:20 that's amazing. Not the best sound quality, but she still shines through. I've been trying to get reactors to look at her solo work. After a few listens, it's clear why she works so well with Maynard. Elegy and Lacuna are amazing songs of hers.
Good if you haven't noticed they they got to take numbers you nobody don't doing none of these video reactions is original they do you know they have to do like how many albums does Lynyrd Skynyrd have Manny they only play like three songs and they've got lots of albums I don't deal only do three songs if number 200 is going to do a Lynyrd Skynyrd song who's going to do one of three songs so Robert Palmer has two songs and that's all they're going to do they're not going to do nothing
I quit watching these reaction videos cuz it's they don't even play what people want some to play they they do their own agenda if you tell him a song they'll do is the artist and they'll do a different song and it'll be what 200 people before I'm has done no originality this stuff I don't want it anymore
Always loved your reactions videos!🙂 could you guys a reaction video for-- Rajesh Nepali- Blue or Carry love ..either of the songs. He is from Nepal! You will be Stunned! 😀

There's nobody around today that has the swagger that the late, great Robert Palmer had.
Fact!!
PBUH

One of the HOTTEST songs of the 80's. My favorite from Robert Palmer.
This song is so Smoooth!! Great bass line, unbelievable women...and Robert’s incomparable voice.
Simply Irresistible is also great.
"I didn't pay attention to the lyrics...he's takin' SOMEONE'S girl!"
I DIED.
Thanks for making my night, guys! Much love!
OMG. I love some Robert Palmer. Simply Irresistible is another great one with even more girls. LOL
My favourite video ever , being a young man at the time it had my hormones in overdrive and I'm glad to say I'm still feeling it Cheer from the UK
I recall Robert talking about the making of that video - they all gathered at the studio at around 6 AM for the models to be ready for 8AM, and then it was about 14 hours to get everything.
"You like to think you're immune to the stuff, oh yeah...' How damned true. God rest him.
Amen.
Loved both of your reactions to this video, both of you had me in stitches of laughter 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Fantastic Robert Palmer , R.I.P You Were so Cool.
More Puscifer right away please! The Humbling River, The Rapture, The Remedy, or Tumbleweed would all be great to see! You two rock!
Tony Thompson is back behind the drums blasting away. He played with Palmer in the group The Power Station as well.
Taken from us far too young, Robert Palmer, God rest his dear soul.
I paused at 3.39. Dude your eyes were popping out of your head. Welcome to my generation.

Love that you guys went to something old and 80s 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Been a Looooooong time since I have heard this song. I didn't appreciate how good his voice was. And yes, more Pucifer plz! =)
👍
Totally remember this playing 20 times a day on MTV lol
Sorry, forgot to tell you guys, your reactions were almost as enjoyable as the video. Great job!
Robert Palmer had an unmistakable voice. Give "I didn't mean to turn you on" or " Early in the morning" a shot. Grat reaction!

Enjoyed watching you having a blast to one of my favourite pop songs.
"Simply Irresistible" Don't miss.
I've know of this song for ages but I'm just now thinking why on earth do I not have this song on my phone???
Same after this
Lots of strange popular stuff going on in the early 80s. Those girls almost looked like Daryl Hannah in "Blade Runner" from 82'...
Play more classics guys ... A whole new beautiful world will open to you
Sweet how the lady is in love with the guy. I am the only one that realize that?
This is an example of when your good and you know it.....................................

Another great 80s song from Robert Palmer with an awesome MV is “She makes my day”. You should check it out.
👍
This is a much more tasteful vid than what was put out there and then, and subsequently, by any given rap-artist.
Greatest reaction on this song on TH-cam
I love this commentary...I couldn't stop laughing
Robert Palmer and Ellkie Brookes rocked together in the early 70s
Haha from m pucifer to Robert Palmer. Palmer was awesome. His other band Power station had some big hits in the 80s to
All the people that does these videos think about it they all got to do the same song they cannot do the power station because they had their assigned number 50 and 51 they got to be like Fifty other people before them they can't be original nobody is original that does these videos so these two songs by Robert Palmer will be it he's got he's had some albums albums but two songs has all he's allowed by these video

Mr steal your girl 😂😂😂 this song is a classic, the video is absolutely amazing 🤙
😂
Yep, if you turn your shoulder while Roberts doing his thing she might be gone when you look back
For sure, that is a new interpretation, but so true
Holy cow I thought I was tripping when I noticed the similarities between Puscifer's video and this one! I'm glad I'm not the only one!
Haha, haven't heard this one in a while. Never would have made that connection with the Puscifer vid.
What about Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor Doctor) and Sneaking Salley thru the Alley?

Right on thanks for the info Richard
Unfortunately Robert Palmer past away in Paris in 2011 RIP
Another song/video that popped into my mind after seeing the new Puscifer video was the Talking Heads "Once in a Lifetime"
The director told each of the girls to move to each of their own slightly different tempos
Check out the power station with him some like it hot.
Robert Palmer died way too young. Loved the 80's.
I’m 39..I’ve been Addicted Since I was 8
That beat is from Tony Thompson. Great great drummer.
