hmmmm, as far as I know about this program, which is wonderful, by the way, is that none of the institutions will sponsor a visa. so it will only be open to img's who are either citizens or legal residents of USA. i could be wrong, but this is what i have gathered so far
Hello. I have a very important question that is curial to IMG’s applying for this license in Tennessee. Does IMG’s need a Permanent ECFMG Certificate to apply, or is a temporary ECFMG certificate sufficient? Because if IMG’s need a permanent ECFMG certification, this means that they need to do a year long fellowship and turn their ECFMG certification to a permanent one before applying for this new Tennessee License. I have searched far and wide to find the answer to this question, but I was not able to find an answer. If you can help me with this question, I would be really grateful. Thank you very much.

Great video as always! But one of the criteria of the bill is “permanent” ECFMG certificate, doesn’t this imply at least one year in an ACGME program in order to get a permanent certificate?
I check all the boxes…I have been reaching out to ACGME institutes to establish a network. At the time of me posting this, I haven’t received any response.
So the first 2-years is supervised. Is this sort of like fellowshipnprogram where after 2 years you will be able to work as attending physician? Thanks love all your videos
Hello. I am General Pratitioner with 22 years experience . 12 years of it as clinical associate in Medicine Department can I get Liscense without USMLE?
Hey I have a question. I’m an American citizen from Tennessee who is in final year in accredited medical school in Russia. My medical school is only 1 of 5 accredited schools in Russia meaning I can get ECFMG certified after 2024. In Russia we can become a physician right after finishing medical school. You mentioned home country you have to be practicing, but if I practice as a doctor for 3 years in Russia will this count for licensure in Tennessee?
If one is doing general practitioner in another country since last 5 years and before that in home country. Are they eligible.? Even applied for match for last 2 years
Dr.Assad, I hold permanent ECFMG certificate and work for many years as a Ultrasound doctor in Russia. How could I find job in TN? Or could your team assist me ? All the best. Mikhail
Acc to medscape-“Upon completion of the program, IMGs will be able to practice general medicine in Tennessee, not a specialty. Requirements for specialty certification would have to be met through the specialties' respective boards.” What does the last sentence mean?
First, you've got to complete the program, and then you'll be handed an unrestricted license in general medicine, not in orthopedic surgery. After getting the MD title in Tennessee, you have to check with the board on how to do a specialty,so you probably have to match into orthopedic surgery program to practice. The whole idea is to recruit an army of general doctors willing to work in rural places. If you want to be a specialist, you'll probably have to match into residency . This is what it says in the article of Medscape

do u think in future other states will follow this same law?
Alabama State recently followed TN

How we can find those institutions who offer post graduate program
What about dentistry?? The same law ?
DO THEY HAVE ALSO CARDIAC SURGERY??
What about after 2 years of supervised practice ??? Permanent license will take effect only for a generalist practice ???
I think it is more easier to get matched in residency than following this pathway
Why so?!
But residency means 5-7 years of low income with a huge workload.
