Hello sir, Ive done my MD anaesthetics in India, working in the UK after primary FRCA right now. Do I have good prospects to proceed for alternate pathway? Moreover, after 2 years of fellowship do you become attending in that state and have the same salary as other doctors who did full residency training in US? I’ve heard they pay you less
Without much background, difficult to say. In general, in the present market situation, the chances are more for IMGs than what used to exist a couple years ago www.IMGSecrets.com
This is not specialty based and is applicable to Emergency Med and also to others. Of course, it would benefit IMGs where there is more shortages www.IMGSecrets.com

Hello sir! Is this pathway only for doctors that have completed their residency in their home country or is it for medial graduates how didn't start their residency
Tennessee, although the state doesn't need any residency but need an 2-year of supervised practice, what's the difference of it from 1 year residency cut that of Alabama? It seems the same for IMGs.
Post residency in new york, I practiced internal medicine in South Carolina for 1 year on a H1B visa.in 2009. I left usa same year to continue practising medicine in Africa till date for family reasons. Now i need to return back to USA to continue my medical practice after leaving USA for 14 years?. . How should I proceed? . Which state medical licence would be easy to obtain in my situation ?. can i still apply for a job for H1B processing. thanks
Hi Dr Rajeev. You mentioned that residency programs from foreign countries should be accredited. Is there a list of institutions or countries that meet the criteria for accreditation? Thank you so much for all this useful information!!
Hello sir, assuming one would get his license in one of the respective states, would it be possible to use the license to work in another state as well, e.g. you get your license from Tennessee and proceed to work in Colorado. Thx in advance
Hi, Dr. Rajeev. I am also an IMG aspiring to practice medicine in the United States. I'm quite confused about this new policy implemented by these American states that exempts IMGs from completing residency in order to be accredited for full licensure in their jurisdictions. From my knowledge, these residency programs were the paths both domestic and foreign medical students must take after getting ECFMG certification so that they can be eligible to take the USMLE step 3 and receive permanent medical license in US. I first thought that this new policy shift was meant for IMGs, who face more challenges in getting a match for their residency after being certified by ECFMG than the American and Canadian medical students, to be able to apply for Step 3 and get a full licensure. But, you have said that IMGs still need to finish the step 3 in order to reap the benefit of this new system. Is the residency that is being exempt, differnet from the residency training programs IMGs must take before taking the Step 3?
The new paths are either abbreviated paths or novel paths toward licensure (conceptually different from traditional residency). Being in residency is not a must to take USMLE Step 3, in fact, any eligible IMG can complete all 3 steps of USMLE with zero experience in the US. www.IMGSecrets.com
@@IMGSecrets Oh, really! You can take step 3 without residency in the US? I never knew that. Somehow that information got over my head I guess. Thanks a lot doctor!
In the states that waive residency requirements, imgs who get a license through this program will not be board certified. What does this mean for their conditions of work? Wouldn't this seriously limit their job opportunities?
Dr Iyer regarding ur new video do you know if these physicians after the provisional period will be board certified/ board eligible? Also does this apply to any specialty? Because these 2 questions are not clear
The board certification will depend on how the boards will accept this pathway going forward and the other option is if you are eligible via alternate entry path. These are not specialty specific www.IMGSecrets.com
Greetings and thanks for this infromation. After someone gets a state liscence can he move around easier and get another state liscence later on in his career?
In our experience, the possibility of getting a visitor visa for Step 3 is significantly high and the rejections have been very rare (not zero) www.IMGSecrets.com

I am Anesthesiologist - residency trained in India, 5 clinical fellowships from Canada ( not Royal college recognised - like most fellowship training programs in Canada ) and less than 1 year experience as an attending staff in Canada (no FRCPC yet). My questions are: 1. Does LMCC suffice or USMLE is a must? 2. Does my work experience in Canada (fellowships, attending) make it easier to secure AEP? 3. Will I be required to do 4 years on AEP pathway or my years of training and staff role from Canada be given any credit? 4. Does AEP pathway ultimately lead to board certification in Anesthesiology?
