They could have found some other way to have RH be the "real" Todd without denying 8 years of history. Yes, RH should have been discovered to be the "real" Todd to honor RH fans, and RH is a fantastic actor. That character had TWO great actors portray him. But those of us who didn't watch when RH was on deserved a little consideration. They could have had the "switch" happen later somehow. If they could get away with having someone "come back from the dead" with a different face AND a different build, they could have at least tried something different with this. (Seeing the two together, it's impossible to believe any of the characters bought that. A different face, maybe. But a different HEIGHT?) They took the easy way out and hurt fans who didn't start watching until later. It's sad because the writers and TStJ handled the original recast so beautifully. Guess they didn't care that much by the time this happened.

Yes. In the UK there were Two Actresses who played Samantha "Sam" Mitchell on Eastenders. Sam #1 was played by Danielle Westbrook who at one point was the Biggest Young Soap Actress on Eastenders. She left and was replaced by Kim Medcalfe but as good as she was she wasn't Danielle. Sadly Enough Danielle is battling Cancer in real life.
RH was always Todd to me. I didn't connect to TSJ's Todd, but revealing him as Victor made me gain a better appreciation of the character TSJ played. I always used to say the real Todd wouldn't do that throughout TSJ's performance, and then it turned canon. I just wished they would have kept him as Victor because that storyline would have been gold. Todd vs Victor ... epic. But no, we got that stupid who done it instead.
Ya ABC rather have had a whodunit murder mystery in its final months rather than a VLJ vs Todd. I guess they were that confident at the time that the battle would be picked up in the immediate Prospect Park continuation.

For those of us who didn't start watching until RH left, the only Todd is TStJ. RH is a fantastic actor, too, but nullifying EVERYTHING that happened to Todd in 8 years was unfair to fans who didn't start watching until later. In addition, it's so unfair that the character was denied a relationship with Marty if he wasn't the man who raped her.
I like to think real Todd does have a special connection with Marty. But that he will never and can never go there because of the gang rape. He'd also be disgusted at the idea or tricking her into sex which is akin to raping her again.
I guess the prison system just conveniently lost the fingerprints from the original Todd the whole time he was in prison...even identical twins have different prints...but I just they just had to waste time and money with the DNA test.
There were a lot if things I wanted for Todd to discover when he came back, about the last 8 years, and the relationship between Victor and Marty was at the top of that list.
I wish they could have kept the OLTL characters on GH much longer. It was great to have the shows merge characters. It turned out to be a wasted opportunity thanks to Prospect Park's BS. The fact that Michael Easton is on his fifth GH character is ridiculous. Bring back the Vampires!

Watching this is classic Ron Carlivati way of writing. The "Two Todds" from OLTL and this week just one bombshell after another on Days - Justin not bring Alex's father. Carlivati has a wicked way of making perceived truths be absolute and total rubbish.
I do like I do like that show. It's so beautiful. It's so nice, nice and stories about the relationship about love about people get out of prison and all that stuff. Wow. Why you do that. The Two jasons storyline on GH has me wanting to relive the two Todds storyline from OLTL. Aww I miss that show so much. I never really got a chance to see Roger Howarth in his original run on OLTL but I think he is great as Franco on GH but I don't care who TSJ was on OLTL he was the absolute best!!! Ill take Victor over Todd any day.

my take on the situation is that everybody seen what they wanted to see. TSJ passed starr's intense questioning about their early life together. he obviously passed blair's sex and history class. in fact she told him you may have a new face but you are the same old TODD MANNING. when TEA returned he was in legal trouble as she expected and she had to save him
todd and victor we're both monsters through and through but the difference is that todd was actually likeable and he had his relationship with viki and starr to ground him. ironically, todd and victor are the reverse of jason and drew's dynamic on gh (a rehash of the two todds), because Jason was the unlikeable ~stone cold~ and drew, his replacement, was actually the more likeable and level-headed character. (seriously, drew deserved so much better). although i can't help but roll my eyes at the show dragging itself for that *despicable* amnesia storyline when they're the ones who wrote it in the first place. the original marty storyline resonated because of how raw and honest it was, and because todd was never really forgiven, the way it should have stayed. and then the show just shit all over it for shock value. 🙄

Mitch first came on back in the 80s... and RH's Todd was even involved in that. Mitch was even the one who had Todd beaten and thrown in Victor's tomb (which is how RH wound up leaving a 3rd time).
If I remember the storyline right Todd Manning supposedly died. He returned later with a new face. Now the Todd Manning with the old face is back and they both believe that they are Todd Manning because their mom made the new Todd Manning believe he was Todd.
The original Todd actor(Roger Howarth)left the show so they did a plastic surgery recast(Trevor St John), then after 8 years when the show Howarth was on got cancelled and Howarth came back to OLTL so they wrote the who is the real Todd storyline shown here.
I never liked this Todd (Victor) I could never get into him playing Todd. I always knew it was something off about him and plus he was just so nasty towards his whole family. I know Todd did things in his past but he redeemed himself and never acted like Victor. He was a mean and nasty man lol
Playing "Devil's Advocate" here, literally... I will say that TSJ's Victor (as Todd) had 2 decent years ('04 when he seemed to be Todd, and '06 when he was sent to death row). Everything else could've been taken or left.
