I just want to say, thank you, Wei. I am a very beginner drawer and I always thought it would be much more difficult and take me a lot longer to learn these techniques, but thanks to your videos I have learned a lot very quickly. I am still not very good yet but I already have a good start and the confidence to know that if I keep practicing I will be able get better and make really nice drawings very soon.
This is the best thing ever my child drew it for her project and 100 out of 100. I hope some day you should be really famous. Thank you for your help. You are a god.😘👑
That was very inspiring. My circles come out like squares. After this and a ton of scrap paper I should come right. I need to know how to draw or sketch a sweet potato, you know with all it’s curves and defects. Thanking you very much.
Best tutorial I've found so far. Explains the techniques and ideas behind where the shadows form and gets down to the VERY basics of it. Thank you so much this will help immensely.
Wei... THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I started watching other tutorials but THIS was the one that actually helped me. My sphere is looking great! Thank you so much! You are awesome! I liked and I subbed!
Omg thank you so much! I drew and shaded all the shapes I could find on our account and i think this one came out the best of mine! I am a beginner at shading and I love how you talk about what to do and what not to do, as well as giving us a mini lesson on the lighting method! keep doing what your doing!
really dude that the best explaining you can do? i think i speak for all of us when i say that we came here to LEARN how to make a circle with shadows not just to watch you do it
Nice and simple to follow instructor Wei. Thank you for you help. Thumbs up and keep up the great tutorials. I really am not great with circles but your guide gives me new hope. Thank you. I already subscribed to your channel.
@@ArtofWeiHo You're welcome Wei, keep up the excellent work. I'm trying to learn. It's too bad we didn't have instructors like you in school, they even replaced our art class with a guy that used a program to teach us to construct basic carpentry shapes and things. It was a real downer, they could have at least taught us drafting or actual carpentry(digital or physical). I don't mean to have long replies, I just really like this work. I'm going to try to start taking an hour a day toward self improvement.
Hey Wei I just want to thank you for making these videos you have helped me improve my drawings 10x better I can actually draw portraits now keep up the good work
hey Wei I am a high school student who is doing art in her school and I have selected this subject to do fighting against a lot of people ( my family , relatives , teachers and etc) because they think I am not talented enough for this field but I love drawing and art and all.....So I have took this decision and I am following your videos as a guide so Thank You so much...... and Do you think Its possible to draw better and greater in 7-9 months because my main exams are on 7-9 months and to prove everyone wrong I must take an A+ so be honest and tell
Oh absolutely, drawing is mostly practice. In 7-9 months, you can improve a lot. My advice, if time is an issue, is to avoid grinding on an artwork. An example of grinding would be shading hair for a couple of days for an art piece. Though it might look nice, you won't learn as much. Looking back, one of the biggest road block for me was not knowing where to look to improve. Over time, you will realize things about your art and technique that you can't see right now. That's just the way it is I think. Hopefully that can be sped up. Good luck.
@@ArtofWeiHo Thank You So much.... well I will surely listen to your advice and I am practicing a lot at free time . I am trying to draw at least an art a day....and Thank You
Hi Wei I just came across your video. Excellent explanation. Can you do perspective drawing please. You are a fantastic teacher. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺
Peter Gašperan you can go to channel called sycra he explains it in more detail, it helped me a lot, recommend going there first then coming back here.
For now, I’m just going to practice my spheres and then move on to doing the rest of the stuff, maybe even work on my circles a bit more. I’m doing this because I’m learning how to use my shoulder and elbow to draw.... which I’m having trouble with. Let me know if that’s a good start or if I should do other stuff to practice that will help me out in shading or just drawing in general.

Why did you have to do it for him
Thank you for providing an exact formula. It makes the process so much easier! I appreciate this video so much!
Thank you!
I can look at a sphere and see where the shading is, but knowing the distances to measure for a theoretical sphere is very helpful.
Forget about shading it I don't even know how to make a perfect circle lol
