I actually laughed out loud at your comment, Richard! 😂 To be honest, I would much rather have been in Normandy at that point, than filming a ditch in the torrential rain in Essex! 😉 Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and comment.
I was also out on Sunday (after an hour less sleep) for a 40 mile ride. One of the wettest rides ever done but really enjoyed it on the winter bike with fat tyres and mudguards. Managed to stay reasonably warm with shakedry jacket and merino base & socks. Right clothing makes a big difference I've learned the lessons.
Oh man, I love the idea of just thrashing through the mud on a fat bike! My mistake currently is wearing summer cycling shoes, because despite wearing overshoes, they have open air vents underneath so my feet get wet regardless. It all becomes part of the adventure though. 👌🏻😉
@@petertreadway yeah I have MTB shoes for my winter/gravel bike which are a bit warmer though my feet still got soaked with decent overshoes too. I hear Spatz Roadman are good but look like you are wearing wellies!
@@neilfox9540 I’ve got a pair of gravel shoes and have been considering swapping my SPD-SL pedals out for SPD for ages, so maybe this is the catalyst. 😉 I’ll take a look at the Spatz overshoes too though. 👍🏻
Hey, thanks for the question. Currently just using a GoPro Hero9 with its built in mic. Although I do have this foam wind muff over it to stop a lot of wind noise. It works like a charm. (If you check my London to Paris video, you’ll see how bad the audio is before I got it). amzn.to/3JVQWIt If you’re interested in camera kit generally though, then stay tuned over the next few weeks, as I’ll be introducing a bit of 360° footage from my new Insta360. 👌🏻 Thanks for watching.
@@petertreadway thanks for the detail. Good to see you giving it a go uploading content…tempted but looks technical. Stumbled across you as local to the areas you cycle. Would like a vlog on how you film and what you are using. Thanks
Cheers mate. TBH, I’ve been talking about starting this channel for about two years but just kept putting it off. Finally decided I just needed to get it done and have been blown away by the response it’s got over the last 4 weeks. Great idea about a ‘what I use’ vlog thiugh. Leave it with me and I’ll get something put out soon. Don’t know how local you are, but if you see me out on the road, then give me a wave. 👋🏻
I’ve actually been really impressed with how waterproof it is, although it’s not the most breathable thing ever. But then I’m yet to find any jacket that is, which why I tend not to bother buying the mega expensive stuff these days! All of them leave you like a boil in a bag. As for the fit, it’s pretty good… now I’ve bought the 2XL! I originally bought the XL but it was a bit too snug. I gave that one to Jimmy! 😂. I’m 6’1” and 80kgs for reference, so Asian sizes come up extremely small at times! For the money though, it’s a great piece of kit.
I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll say it again but you should have your ‘Northerner’ card revoked for chat like that, mate! 😂 As for drying the bike, I find that if I use Mrs. T’s best towels to dry it off, I tend to have an afternoon of peace and quiet! 😉

As you were saying the three counties at the tripoint I had to add , and I am watching from Normandy.

What camera and mic do you use when cycling the audio sounds really clear?

Jimmy the GOAT
I mean, he just is though, right! No matter how hard I try, I just can’t beat him up a hill. He’s got legs for days! 🦵🏻🦵🏻
How do you find the spexcel rain jacket? good fit and breathable?

Generally speaking I'm more of a fair weather cyclist. Partly as I don't have a good place to dry the bike, and partly as I'm a big softie! 😂

Couldn’t agree more. You have to brave the weather, whatever it is. Bad weather makes cycling more of an adventure. 😉
KEEP IT UP I JUST DISCOVERED YOU ITS 3RD VIDEO. STILL KEEP ON GOING
Thanks very much. I really appreciate the comment and you taking the time to watch. ⭐️
