Tells you what you can do, but not how to do it. Still trying to work my way through planning a route, but so far haven't succeeded. I blame Komoot for lack of user guides - I haven't even found a help link on the screen.
Put in your start point, start as a one way route ,Call the next point as destination, put in the next point and call it the destination and so on, when you get back to the start komoot changes it to round trip and previous points to waypoints.
Thank you for such an informative tutorial on Komoot. I'm not sure how relevant it will be to the current version, as so many of these apps have been hidden behind a paywall over the last couple of years. Of course, if it is good, then I'm not averse to paying, but £50 pa here, and £79 there, soon adds up. Anyway, I'm going to give it a try and see how it goes.
I've just downloaded the app, and the world is on offer for only £19.99. I'll be in Japan next month, and I often visit family in Nottinghamshire, so thought I'd take the plunge. Again, thanks for the great intro to a very simple looking app.
Thanks for this. I’m a runner who cycles to mix it up. I’m also from Notts. I’m a member of Redhill Road Runners. Do you know any social cycling groups that are similar? Nothing too serious but social etc Loved the way you plan the routes, very interesting
What about ETI or target finish time? Or even target milestones along the way to ensure you finish the ride in a targetted time? How will you include these in route planning?
Typically I’m not too fussed about overall time! If I’m out on a punchy training ride, I’ll be more concerned with my power numbers (using a power meter). I do keep an eye on average speed too. Although average speed is so dependent on weather conditions and the amount of climbing that it’s not a consistent metric to track.
Thanks. I needed this video.

Excellent stuff. Been watching your vids for a while, didn't realise you live in Notts! Have sent for the free region, cheers!
Yes mate 👍🏻 Ok I’ll have a look, I haven’t checked that list for a little while, I’m having to do it all manually 😬
The thumbnail was rather measleading. I was hoping to uncover secret features 😐
Ah, sorry you didn’t find out anything new! Do you follow a similar process then?
Nobody knows, it’s a secret.
great info broski, thank you!
Other than a couple of things mentioned in previous comment. This is an excellent video. Thank you Grant 😊😊
Thanks, nice of you to say!
Great stuff, hits all the relevant points without all the faff........have sent for a free region cheers
Thanks Steve! Will get that invite over to you later today 👌🏻
Very very helpful !! Thank you

Thanks! I don’t pay for Komoot, I find their free version plenty enough.

Ah yes, you do need to do this one time payment to unlock maps, but it’s not a monthly cost.
Perfect.

Hey, great to hear from you! Beeston cycling and Ilkeston CC are both popular around here.
Is there a way to find low elevation gain route?

I also know roughly what average speed I can do which helps to estimate overall time when I’m planning a route.
Nice video, are all the features you used in the video free or behind a paywall? Thanks
tried to do it on the iPad app but it does not offer all the options so went to a web browser
I use komoot with aftershokz bone conducting headphones, another option.
Oohh interesting! So not visuals, just voice commands?
@@grantritchie That's it, I think the phone battery will last a fair bit longer with the screen off.
Circular route at 2 mins 40? Looks as if return along same route
How do I see street view? I have created a route but I am not able to see the street view?
You need to click on a point on the route, and then click the little street view icon that appears.
🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Does it work for electric scooter
I’d assume so! I’m not 100% on the legal element though as I know you’re not allowed to ride electric scooters in certain places etc.
@@grantritchie so like I can't use komoot for like Street or point of interest
Have a play around with the app mate, you’ll see how it works 👌🏻
#strava
Team Strava, don’t knock it till you’ve tried it 😉
Komoot does not work where I am in Canada. Waste of money
Nothing new...
Ah shame, I knew it wouldn't be new for everyone 😬 Is there anything you think I've missed from your experience?
To much conversation about tail winds and please rid the annoying background sounds/ music .. whatever that is you've got Making that obnoxious sound.
I had no problem with either of these things. Having cycle commuted for years in a flat and windswept part of the UK, I agree with you Grant!
