Features include:
- Simple interface with intuitive visual feedback.
- Unique drive circuit crossfades from soft clipping to a west-coast-style wavefolder.
- Sculpt harmonics with a musical 12dB/octave state-variable filter that lets you shape-shift continuously between filter types.
- LFO and ENV can be mapped to any knob control or multiple.
- Mapping workflow uses attenuverters for precise control of the modulation.
- Morph between LFO waveforms: sine, triangle, sawtooth, square, sample and hold, and random ramps.
- LFO speeds range from 10 seconds well into audio rate.
- SPIN shifts the left and right LFO channels out of phase to create stereo movement.
- Classic, Compressor, and AR envelope style options.
- Save your settings with 6 onboard preset slots, or up to 32 using MIDI.
- Full MIDI, CV, and expression control.
- Internal SID Chip-Inspired synthesizer that you can play using a MIDI keyboard.

I’ve been watching hundred of pedals demos… owned dozens… and this is one of the most clever pedals I’ve ever seen. Packing this much features in such a small package while keeping everything intuitive is way more of an achievement than people realise
You are a badass, my friend! Dudes like you are helping old farts like me to understand that digital and analog can get along just fine. In examples like this, they're a match made in heaven. This is incredibly well thought out and executed with an elegant/intuitive user interface. Well done! BRAVO!!!
This is fantastic, I had assumed this was all digital so I’m blown away that it’s analog AND stereo. At first made me think of a mash up of Chase Bliss and Mutable Instruments, but after watching the video it’s clearly its own thing.
Ok, simply because its stereo and analog im gonna buy for my studio
Ok this is way cooler than I originally thought. Extremely versatile pedal and a great design.
What an outstanding piece of design! Super impressive.
That's some next level stuff, insane.
Love that it is more of a sculpting, shaping, textural device that another one of a million fuzz, OD ripped off circuits that keep on coming fast, furious, and ever more boringly onto the pedal market. Curious to hear what kinds of things the stereo imaging can do after hearing those harmonic bits flying around near the end of the video. Sounds like one to save up for...
OOf this is sounding absolutely wonderful! So much flexibility in this thing! Definitely heading onto my MUST BUY list!
Yeap! This is on my list....take my cash
Absolutely love this concept!
Highest complements for adding the oscilloscope @4:32.. Very helpful and a great idea, I wish more people did this.
Preordered…SO EXCITED!
I mean… if you told me it would make me coffee I would believe it 😂 impeccable work guys well done
This thing is jam fucking packed! Wow
I would hope for an Eurorack module with the same functionality, but double the knob count for even more direct access.
Wondering if this could replace my Elektron Analog Heat. seems to have most of the same functions in a much smaller form factor
Sick.
On my radar now.
My only problem with this pedal is "Where do I put it in my signal chain?"....brilliant stuff Kinotone.
I really love it at the end of chain after my verb! Because it’s stereo in and out you can add a little grit to your stereo verbs and delays and still preserve the stereo image. It also has a boost out option that can be used to push your amp, which often sounds great!
Also could be great after your mono drives - it can split them into stereo and add some analog stereo flavor before your stereo digital effects.
@@kinotone I was half kidding. I use the Morningstar ML 5 for effects before my preamps and the ML10X (matrix routing) for my preamps and time based stuff.
The tricky thing is, with Sparks, you’re giving us stuff like a Boss Slow Gear (an early chain effect) and then stereo filters (I like them post preamp but before delays). Once I get a Sparks, I’m going to have to put the ML10X to work, experimenting with all of the various signal chain/processing options. Great stuff. Side question…why only 32 presets? Is this set in stone or could a firmware update free up more space?
So keen to get mine and figure it all out 🤓
*kin.
Yeah we all needz sparks.
So is this going to replace my Condor, Too Positive, and Sunflower Deluxe?
dope!!!
maravilla 😍
intriguing..............hard to believe how many new boutique pedals are coming out these days.........very exiting stuff............
Looks like another turquoise mf banger from KT
Love the user interface, so many cool features easily accessible. All the modulation options, like the way you set up a compressor using the env follower. Dist/OD/waveFold, stereo, presets, midi, SID emulation.... Amazed. Are the filters analog as well? (already preordered:))
Yes the filters are analog!
It makes you sound like John Spenser Blues Explosion
Does this have a computer based editing software? The depth of the controls seems like it'd take a year to learn and memorize!
For the drum bit around the 1:00 mark - is the pedal in the FX Loop of a mixer? Seemed like multiple mics feeding into it. This thing sounds great!!!
We recorded that drum bit at a local studio using a stereo microphone setup. We then ran the stereo audio out of our DAW, into Sparks so we could add compression and a tiny bit of analog drive to the drums, and then back into the DAW. 🙂
I bet you could also do this using the pedal in an fx loop of a mixer though!
I’d like to see some more knobs on the unit.
I love it, but can we sync the LFOs to MIDI?
Yes you can! We have a TH-cam Short that shows an example of this. We’ll make a video all about about Sparks + MIDI soon.
Beautiful! Is there Tap Tempo?
There isn’t - but you can sync to MIDI clock 🙂
Great pedal! But we also need Ribbons back!!!)
We’re working on it! There will be more soon.
Secondary Controls being labels make me swoon.
any plans for CV inputs?
EDIT: I should watch the video before asking questions
It does have a CV input!
@@kinotone oh shit, lol, i haven't watched it yet 😅
busy as hell lately
Add an oscillator and you have a synth
There are 4 oscillators 😉 Sparks has an internal SID Chip-inspired synth that you can play using a MIDI keyboard. We’ll cover this in its own video but you can check out some clips of it in our intro video from a couple weeks ago.
@@kinotone 🤣
Carpenter Brut in a box.
i used to drink sparks
You can always tell how expensive a 'boutique' pedal is by how unmusical it sounds... and I'm guessing this one is very expensive
idk man that thing sounds pretty sweet to me, it is a swiss army knife and creative canvas with seemingly infinite possibilities considering the ability to immediately program and MIDI control all these parameters. it even has a Max for Live device for programing through Abelton.. all that together seems kinda special. Maybe not every boutique analog delay is worth the price, but in my professional opinion this one is punching above its price point.
