    I can say from my personal experience that everything Freddie says in the video is true... I bought a van and changed my job thanks to his video. And I am very grateful for what he does. It changed my life... thank you for helping people change life

    Just watched your video … somewhat miffed this morning.
    My partner is working this weekend so I thought I’d jump onto cx to do some work.
    Got allocated a job to london from somewhere 15 miles down the road from me.
    Started heading over there and then 5 minutes from collection the job got cancelled (I accept this happens sometimes) but he then re-advertised the job. I rang them straight away and asked why he had done this and he tried to knock the price down by £10 … I refused as I knew what the minimum I was prepared to work this job for (and probably return empty due to it being a Saturday)
    Having spoke to a fellow courier on the cx , he did exactly the same to him … this company needs naming and shaming !!!
    Happy to reveal who they are but I also feel that as drivers , we need our own platform /forum to make other drivers aware of these unscrupulous shippers who want to take advantage of us.
    Regards

      You should put a ticket in about this, he minimum should have give you a cancellation fee as your already set off to collect.

    Remember a lot off jobs are given directly to drivers.
    If you do a good job for your local shippers, they will contact you directly.

      Yeah right until that day when you say you can't do it, they'll just use somebody else and won't call you again. Shippers have the upper hand on this platform and is more favoured for them.

      I had 47 good feedback and did plenty of jobs for the same company never late never any mistakes. They don't use you first at all 😂 why would they when someone can under bid you on cx. It'd not a rocket scientist type job anyone can do it. They'll pick cheapest possible

    I've only been on the CX for 18 months but what I've learnt in that brief time is everyday is different. You can easily go to a place which is usually good but get nothing. Whereas you could finish a job in a bad area but get another job within 15 minutes taking you towards home.

    • @JamesFletcherVlogs
      @JamesFletcherVlogs  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s because busy areas are so massively oversaturated. Hope your doing well pal

      In Liverpool today , small van jobs were going for 60p a mile, and people bidding low, then that was not worth doing. They got a job back down south for 80p mile from the shipper . lots of work some shippers put the same job on 6 to 7 times to get the price down, and they said some prices they can't pay
      I worked for good feedback and do a good job

  • @androidloid2191

    Yes, 8k drivers is over-saturated but how many driver's profiles are dormant because the platform didn't work for them? 🤔
    The Courier Exchange is not a good platform. tbh. If you want to make money be prepared to drive 500 miles a day and stay away from home (tramping).
    DO NOT JOIN THE COURIER EXCHANGE!!
    That is all I am going to say.

  • @peterashmore3695
    @peterashmore3695 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Needs a set minimum price per mile for different size vans. These companies are charging £2 plus per mile and then getting some poor desperate owner driver who has all the insurance in place and trying to run his vehicle to cover the job in a professional manner for 60p per mile. If the driver is in the right place at the right time then it should be his benefit not the shippers. It's criminal what the CX has done to degenerate the standard of living for drivers.

    • @muffinthepug2358
      @muffinthepug2358 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The CX is heavily saturated with too many drivers in my area - and not as much work as there was when I started several years ago. It's tough out there.

  • @commuterbranchline8132
    @commuterbranchline8132 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well I’m shocked and stunned, a ginger beard, Well I never! Lol. You are quite right the number of drivers chasing the number of jobs really tells you everything you need to know. Drivers working for 60p per mile simply perpetuates the desperation that’s out there being taken advantage of by shippers. How can anyone run a van and turn a profit on 60p per mile?

    • @JamesFletcherVlogs
      @JamesFletcherVlogs  ปีที่แล้ว

      60p is a bare minimum backload price in my opinion. And that’s only if your getting really good morning going out.

  • @GamingGoose

    I signed for a year after being a courier for 12 years. After 1 year I gave up 😂 last time I logged in honestly and please fgs believe me this isn't a lie... 57 drivers all green wanting work in that area..... 1 job 😂 safe to say I didn't renew my membership. And just to add btw im in the cx hottest area between sheff and leeds so...

  • @peterashmore3695
    @peterashmore3695 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    In 2002 I could easily get £1.50 per loaded mile sub contracting work off courier companies with a lwb transit van. Today I cannot achieve £1.20 per mile. What's changed only one thing and that's most transport companies are using the CX to get driver's competing for the work and 20 years ago they weren't. Shippers know weather they pay 60p or £1.20 per mile they're still gonna get a fully insured professional all thanks to the CX vetting process. Everything is in place to help the shippers and nothing is done to protect the driver's from the unscrupulous shippers. It's not unreasonable to expect a minimum price per mile.

    • @JamesFletcherVlogs
      @JamesFletcherVlogs  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately they’ll never be a minimum pricing structure on the CX. When I started about 14 years ago the company I worked for got £1.20 a mile for LWB’s and subbed out for 80p- £1. They were still doing that in 2021 when I left.

    January and February and the 1st 2 weeks of march are quiet months so don't expect much work in these months plus we are going into the worst recession in history due to a variety of factors etc
    So if a person wants to try courier or driving work try working for a driving agency which is doing the exact work as the CX with none of the risks or upfront costs etc and when driving work goes quiet in January and February etc multidrop is still busy but not every driver likes or wants to do multidrop etc Hope this helps

    Wish i would of seen this video 6 months ago. Cx sales team sold me a pack of lie,s.
    Things like 90 to 120 a mile for a small van. More like 70p a mile 😤🙃🤯🤯 and thats at a push. I didnt win a job for first 4 days of bidding then lowered my price and got most jobs. I got told shipers are all vet checked and pay thousands to use us on cx, but didnt get paid from 2 jobs that i did in first couple of months the company's had shut down then restarted again with a new name, i looked into them closer on google not just cx. Im not doing bad but no where near the thousands a month i was told i would get, especially with certain people doing jobs for 50 and 55p a mile just for the sake of it its totally bonkers. The main competition is thoses who work for £30 a day driving 12 hours in 20 year old vans

    • @JamesFletcherVlogs
      @JamesFletcherVlogs  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeh I’ve said it many times before they over sell it so much that’s there’s no competitive prices anymore you know no matter where you are the shippers going to wait to done cheap. Too many drivers not enough work. And then claiming 100,000 + jobs not sold each month id love to see the evidence behind that and I’ve asked for it but been denied.
