How I beat him: Equip the overheat shotgun Overpump it. Dash and fire the shotgun at the same time since the dash mechanic gives you invincibility for a small period. A quarter of V2's health is gone Repeat until he perishes Ok I just encountered him the second time.
After 61 tries to beat them and 35 minutes stuck on the fight, I’m guessing that I wasn’t meant to stick a nail gun in their face and try to overheat my way to victory. however that is what I did. and through trial and error, it worked eventually.

I think the best tip I have for anyone in any game, which also works for ultrakill is: *Try to not get hit for 1 minute straight* Focus on dodging, learning patterns, and become confortable with the boss. If your objective is not to win, but survive, you won't get frustrated. Only after you know what to do to not take damage, and when to do it, you can try to beat the boss. That helps immensly
If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.
i am an absolute noob, and somehow even if u are playing this game "wrong" it is still fun af what a dope@ss game. spent 40mins on this boss. he was so fast my shotgun fails to hit him at melee range(i didnt know u can parry ur pellets) i just used the default pistol like an id^ot and repeated the strat of " Slide at his face point blank and hit him with charged shot (which also heals my hp to max) till he d^es" . i was too excited to realize u can upgrade your tools and stuff. and the coin toss mechanic awould have made the boss easier
Here's how I did it: -Constantly be dashing -Use the marksman revolver and keep shooting the coins after tossing them -If you find yourself low on health, get close to V2, punch him once, and then immediately get away from him -Repeat

i honestly dont remember where i heard it first but im pretty sure its been known for ages, just never used practically, much like being able to fire a magnet when paused the fact that you were one of the people that liked nailgun even during soul survivor definitely helped make the name stick, and its a good name too, specific and accurate to what the tech is
The cheesiest way to kill V2 is to start the fight by ricochotting him once then chain 5 coin punches together, if you want to P rank V2 then do the steps mentioned but instead chain the coin 4 times then shoot a railcannon onto the last coin. Thank you for cheesing one of the most well designed bosses in the game.
I just started playing this game on standard difficulty and yeah, now I'm realizing this game has A LOT more going on. I've stumbled my way onto some cool movement tech by accident but have kinda been stuck with "shoot revolver and hit crits". This showed me a lot. Thank you.
Hitting the coin on the blink isn't just useful for hitting multiple things either, when using the slab revolver or railcannon it adds additional damage, so if you use the slab charge revolver and the regular marksman you can have access to both split shots and damage multiplier shots as well as slab charge shots.
Yooo I actually smiled once I saw that mini coin tutorial. Thanks for that little tip, I try way too hard to hit my strafe shots for sure so thats actually cool to know that it's more simple than I make it out to be.
Thanks for this info since the shotgun shots are annoying af to dodge so the I-Frames for dash really helped me and this vid taught me that dash has I-frames
◬ You can't parry V2's core eject, BUT you can time a coin shot to detonate the core in their face as they eject it. Credit to @ThursdayTV where I first heard of this counter.
If you projectile boost the shotgun onto V2 it will shoot him up in the air, if done right every time you can just keep him in the air using the exploding boosted projectile.
A comprehensive guide on how to P rank him with only your fists: Knuckleblaster (I'll just say Red from now on) is slower and deals good damage. To maximize the damage output, don't use the explosion from holding it down. Just punch, wait, then punch again. Feedbacker (I'll say Blue for this) is faster but deals much less damage, to the point where it's not worth using for damage. Just use Red for that. But Blue can parry, which is key. Figure out the shotgun blast cue and timing, then parry it. Huge damage, instant style points. Takes only 5-10 minutes to get down pat. Whiplash (Green) deals negligible damage, but can be used to close distance quickly and precisely. It gives Hard Damage though, so use it sparingly. Essentially, just run at V2 with your Red out, swinging wildly. I suggest binding it to left click. Then, whenever you get the shotgun blast cue, swap (I recommend binding it to right click or Q) to Blue and parry for that sweet sweet style. It's the only way to get really good style here, so make sure you get at least one in. When another attack is incoming, just dash towards or at a slight angle to V2 right before it comes out. You'll avoid damage and close distance. Also remember that your parries heal you as high as you can heal, so if you're running low and you see a yellow flash, punch with Blue and then dash to avoid. Many "parriable" attacks in this game only give you +parry and HP, without interrupting the attack itself. Just punch after the yellow parry spark comes up and you get it. If V2 is running all over you and you can't keep up, take a break by running to the other side of the arena with a fast dash jump. Gives you breathing room and time to locate V2 properly. Not too hard once you get it figured out. My fave way to P rank this boss.
you can also cheese v2 by coin punching before the fight starts and it still damages him. if you don't kill him by the time the fight starts with purely coin punching you should be able to finish him quickly by shooting the coin you were punching
Funnily enough I was stuck on King Minos more than this fight. Landing that early magnet just as V2 spawns is something I find crucial to making the fight easier. Definitely one of the best boss fights in the game though, checks on your understanding of game mechanics and fundamentals and challenges them but not by too much.
First time playin... "WTF is this bs boss??!" Now, im on my way P ranking every lvl... The reason I looked up this guide is I'm killing V2 too fast and only getting A on style at the moment :D

I managed to defeat him by spamming the nailguns on him and using the coin for when I was running away. Took 102 tries. I think the problem I was having was his shotgun shots. All of his other attacks are telegraphed, the timing is a bit weird but I can get used to them. When he uses the shotgun was the problem always, to me it would come out of nowhere.
Instructions unclear, killed V2 in 30 seconds after learning parrying (parrying the shotgun upclose will deal half of his max hp for those who don't know)
i just always jumped and dashed around (and ofc parry) my way out his attacks and managed to block him into a corner for alot of time, while mainly using my shotgun and piercer revolver (cant forget nailgun at the start for easy dmg)
You can also do a nal trap and take half of his health in 0 seconds, or just do some coin punching and literally kill him before the fight begins. Also, i think v2 is the one moment where alt marksman is better than the normal one, since there only is one target.
This is the first time I ever played a shooter. Currently playing on standard and still having problems. I was able to beat V2 on my 14th attempt, but that was mostly due to me spamming projectile boosts.
weirdly enough so far the only way I've managed to beat v2 is by standing still dude seems like a gentleman giving a moment to bow before the actual fight but also seems to get extremely stupid when enraged which makes standing somewhere somewhat vertical and raining coin death from above easy as v2 really likes to just agrily run into a corner and stand there too although not a very satisfying win it is very funny my v1 is definitely not a gentleman

The first level that I p-ranked (and before watching this video). The only thing you need to do to beat him is to learn his pattern and parry his attacks. Using coins for extra damage and shotgun for extra healing can help too.
Gonna need to train against this first boss before I face him the second time, I barely got by via projectile boosting my shotgun at him constantly and I was fighting for my life! I play doom so I’m used to using number keys to switch weapons but the further I get in this game the less that becomes an options. Using the mouse wheel and e/q keys to switch weapons seems like a better technique and would enable me to pull off a lot more combos way more easily
Im really bad at shooting games, so V2 was a fucking nightmare to me, so, i choose to use the shotgun and dash across his face and shot him, healing my self in the process, it was a really cool battle
I had no idea the dash had I frames, I just used it to move. I tried sticking the homing nail onto him and letting loose and it was hella satisfying. Couldn't kill him though. I had no idea about that overheat storage thing
when i first fought v2 (i won) i felt so alive that a single boss was able to get up to par with my speed, i though i still zoom past V2, coin spam, cycle through my weapons, it felt nice lol.
You can pump the pump shotgun up to 2 additional times before firing. Pumping it a 3rd time will make it explode in your face upon shooting... BUT remember how dashing gives you i-frames? Overpump dashing is avoiding that self explosion damage by dashing away from it.
I beat him exactly same.)) Nail magnet -> nailgun spam and then coins. But this not worked in second Act. In Act II i used overpump, railgun drill and hitted his coins to win. (it took 3 days.:)
a note about the dash strat, if you can't dodge all of his attacks it's fine. just focus on getting close to him and leaching away his health and blood.
A small tip i would like to add is that if you have a terrible aim then you can use Ricoshot spam as a consistent way to heal yourself by standing close to V2 , lol Btw, excellent video 👍
I've gotten this far into ULTRAKILL without looking up guides or tips. Now that I've slammed into the wall of laughing RESTART skulls that is the V2 fight, I realize I may need to practice something other than punching my own shotgun blasts.
Thank you so much! I have been meaning to finally beat that dumb robots head in after hours of attempts, I have gotten the movement down pretty damm well but with such a small and fast moving target, I think it was always inevitable I would have to use the marksman one day!

You know, I always wondered why people think this was a ball busting fight. For me that was Gabriel. Then again, maybe I just got lucky? I know it was harder my second try.
Its so annoying to me that before this there is no challenge. Then V2 appears and the head hitbox is smaller than the normal enemies and they wont stop moving. I barely paid attention to any of the movement mechanics until this fight because they were completely useless in the first stages.

Took me a moment to realize that if you shotgun up close it heals you as well
I just started a weaponless run for ultrakill and V2 first encounter was surprisingly easy
I actually beat V2 first try because I kept using the Slab Piercer and going near him, spamming the punch key and it absolutely worked
The worst is when he just gets out of your screen and field of view and you have no idea where he is until he hits you

I beat him today on violent by accident while practicing parrying his shotgun while standing almost entirely still.

You could also just coin juggle on top of v2 when he is doing his intro animation to get him to 1/5 of his hp

basically just use a dash each time you hear a sound from him and use the projectile shotgun boosting trick
What I did:
Just usual Ultrakill stuff ig, move like a madman, and just keep shooting and get close when he's not about to vaporize you and get blood

I honestly never had a strategy in ultrakill just move as long as it's fast or cewl and switch weapon every few seconds does the trick for me

Im really bad at shooting games, so V2 was a fucking nightmare to me, so, i choose to use the shotgun and dash across his face and shot him, healing my self in the process, it was a really cool battle
OR you can just punch the coin in the "cutscene" and you will kill v2 before the fight starts
The first time I fought v2, he was way too difficult for my small brain, so I proceeded to overpump and dash to cancel the damage to kill him
me who projectile boosts everytime i shoot a shotgun just because its so fun: wait... those are Pro moves?!
If you manage to nail a moving target with a proj boost, id say you are a pro gamer
I had no idea the dash had I frames, I just used it to move. I tried sticking the homing nail onto him and letting loose and it was hella satisfying. Couldn't kill him though. I had no idea about that overheat storage thing

when i first fought v2 (i won) i felt so alive that a single boss was able to get up to par with my speed, i though i still zoom past V2, coin spam, cycle through my weapons, it felt nice lol.
You can shoot his core eject to deal damage to him.

Can you explain what overpumping is?
You can pump the pump shotgun up to 2 additional times before firing. Pumping it a 3rd time will make it explode in your face upon shooting... BUT remember how dashing gives you i-frames?
Overpump dashing is avoiding that self explosion damage by dashing away from it.

I beat him exactly same.)) Nail magnet -> nailgun spam and then coins. But this not worked in second Act. In Act II i used overpump, railgun drill and hitted his coins to win. (it took 3 days.:)
i used only the normal shotgun and I still won because I was parrying like crazy lmao
i p ranked this stage and did the challenge by complete accident because auto-aim is broken.

I just spammed parry and alt revolver charge shot til I won
a note about the dash strat, if you can't dodge all of his attacks it's fine. just focus on getting close to him and leaching away his health and blood.
A small tip i would like to add is that if you have a terrible aim then you can use Ricoshot spam as a consistent way to heal yourself by standing close to V2 , lol

I've gotten this far into ULTRAKILL without looking up guides or tips. Now that I've slammed into the wall of laughing RESTART skulls that is the V2 fight, I realize I may need to practice something other than punching my own shotgun blasts.
Idk how to dodge the boss while I have to track my eyes on hitting the coin with the marksman gun
On standard I couldn't kill this boss at all, but just one difficulty lower and it's childs play.
Thank you so much! I have been meaning to finally beat that dumb robots head in after hours of attempts, I have gotten the movement down pretty damm well but with such a small and fast moving target, I think it was always inevitable I would have to use the marksman one day!

You know, I always wondered why people think this was a ball busting fight. For me that was Gabriel. Then again, maybe I just got lucky? I know it was harder my second try.
Its so annoying to me that before this there is no challenge. Then V2 appears and the head hitbox is smaller than the normal enemies and they wont stop moving. I barely paid attention to any of the movement mechanics until this fight because they were completely useless in the first stages.
